I couldn't be bothered starting a new topic so I tacked this on my Malawi thread.
Well I have an Ace GT and Zamaldelica test grow I am near finishing to see if I can get a trippy high from these. I harvested my Malawi way to early she could have gone another 4 weeks I reckon but these are going the whole trip to yellow leaves.
So far really impressed, I had 4 malawi phenos in the Zamal which I didn't like but this bushy Zamal pheno looks the goods, the Gt looks awesome just like in the Ace picture. All up another Ace winner you guys sure know how to select plants I am very impressed.

Thanks Tangwena for your kind words :)

Your Zamaldelica and Golden Tigers flowers looks top notch! Very resinous, well developed, with very high flower/leaf ratio, dense .... i'm sure the potency will be really good! Hope they provide the type of effect you are looking for!

pictures of the Zamal plant I have, about a week from harvest, its 14 weeks since buds formed but the trichs have only now started to turn milky! If i had harvested already she would have been very weak.
The smell has also matured and is now deeper and more promising, I have high hopes for a trippy high.

Smoke report on the Zamal.
This is the first plant in 30years that has got me high like I used to get in Malawi.
I rate it 8/10 considering the Malawi plant I grew, I rate 2/10 you can see the difference.
This sends me up like a rocket and is very fast paced, just like I like it.
Like Alice in Wonderland on speed. I love it.

I also have tried the Golden Tiger but will review it once I have fully explored its potential.
So far its the most resinous plant I have grown and trying to light a joint after rolling it up, my thumb just got stuck to the wheel on the ZIPP lighter I was using, STICKY!

I have a clone of the Zamal that I will grow as big as I can get it, and leave it to fully flower until almost the death of the plant. The resin only gets trippy at the very end of the plants life.
Ace has hit a home run as far as I am concerned, wow its good to get high again.

Hello Tangwena:

I just wanted to make contact again as I tried or am trying to grow malawi fem. outdoors in Australia right now. I cracked these open mid november but I put them in beer cups after they germinated. The substance they were put in was called debco seedling mix or something like that. I bought it at bunnings. For me, the stuff prevented my plants from growing. They maybe grew 2 inches in a month. Luckily I transplanted some iranian auto flowers I also was trying out, into a hanging basket full of scotts professional soil mix. That worked and those guys came to life so I transferred the rest of my plants into the hanging baskets and that helped them a lot. But man did it take awhile for them to recover.

I then transplanted the taskenti and malawi out into the bush but before I did that I hiked out dynamic lifter, some coco bricks, blood and bone, chicken shit, cow shit...and I mixed it all in with the local dirt which was ph 6.8. I don't think this dirt even though the ph was okay, was all that great for my plants because here I am in January and they're only ten inches tall.

Some got hit by leaf cutting bugs but I have about 15 plants going but they're not big at all. Maybe the stem is the thickness of a piece of welding rod. Not that thick. My best malawi is a foot now with some leaves. The others I mentioned are all behind that.

I was able to hike in a bag or two or the scotts premium soil mix and that's what the best malawi is in right now. I dug it up and put it into that stuff and lives been good since I did that. The iranian auto flowers are also doing well in that too.

I was wondering what a foot tall plant now is going to look like come harvest? And what month would that be on the lower east coast of Aussie? Some say late april. Others say June. What's your best guess?

I also went to the extra trouble of hiking in some fencing after your goat story. So my plants have a staked barrier from the wombats and other creatures out there. Anyone seen any aliens smoking anybody's weed out there?

Cheers.

Hi boobman, sorry to hear about the bad start, the potting mix may have been pre fertilised and too strong for the young plants. You have to be careful until they are about a foot tall then they are pretty robust.
I usualy put the bulk of the manure in the bottom of the hole and have a weak mix of soil and manure on top that way the plant gets an introduction to the goodies and can seek the food out with its roots.
You have to be careful not to make the soil/manure mix too strong it can burn the roots.
If they are still alive it meens they are getting over the shock. I would water them with a seaweed extract like seasol at 20ml per 10ltrs water, it encourages root growth, which is what you need for a big plant. They should show pre flowers end of Feb early March, but they will still grow, so maybe 3 foot tall by flowering.
Its unfortunate that you got a bad start as they grow very fast normaly, but when they get damaged roots it takes a lot of time to repair them hence the need for the seasol.
Try the seasol its like a first aid for plants. Harvesting is no problem just wait until all the shade and sugar leaves are yellow probably June ish. They dont get trippy till right at the end of flower. I picked mine way to early I realise that now.
Good luck and keep us posted with some picks when they flower.

I forgot to mention that I have season. Have given it twice out of a nine litre watering jug. Yes, it works. I see the plants leaves pointing upright. So you're saying June is harvest month. Wow. Those malawi should be of a decent height by June I would think. I also have a pray that's alfalfa and backstrap molasses in a spray. Foliar feeding. Only used it a few times though. Plants seem okay with it. Thanks for your guidance.

Hi Boobman just go by the look of the plant, it may finish earlier it depends on conditions ect.
If you get a jewelers loupe or magnifying glass you can see the resin colour it needs to be all cloudy with some amber, the more amber the more narcotic. But in my opinion Malawi has no power when the trichs are still clear.

Really good tips Tangwena. Thank you for proving me with some guidance. I will keep you posted over the coming months. I'm also curious how my taskenti will do. Even though they were stunted, they were all uniform in size and height. Another strain a friend of mine tried in Australia this year was humbolts blue dream and he says he has a 3 meter by 3 meter plant and it's not even gone to flower yet! Amazing. Have a good day.

Thank you Tangwena for share your knowledge. I have two malawis growning now...
so you find the strong high you want on the zamal of Ace? This is zamal x malawi/thai no?
Thank you very much.

Hello Tangwena, I have been following all your posts and I wanted to droop a picture of my 4 feminized Malawi girls if that's ok. The Malawi's are the ones that are just starting to flower. 3 of them have little Punta Roja seedling from Cannobiogen in the pots.
Seems like I might have 3 different phenos.
1.One is like two weeks ahead of the others and leaves are a bit wider and darker green than the others.
2. Two seem to have the same leaf shape, size and color.
3. Third plant had, has really tiny scragly looking leaves that eventually grow to normal size.
This picture is about 2 weeks old. I will try and post some better pictures tonight when they wake up.
The plant on the back right is a clone from my mother plant of chimeras
Highland Mexican x Blue Berry. Excellent smoke and the plant puts out incredible buds.

I am looking forwards to trying your cob system out on some mangobechi from Cannobiogen I have growing on the other side of the tent. Looks like I will hopefully get enough from her. She is the one in back growing in a three liter air pot. The plant in front of here is a highland Mexican x blueberry x vitality(kalimost x vaniluna x flo x kalimost. She is now chopped. Pictures are of her buds from last week. Friends say the smoke is excellent.

Hi Quinn nice looking plants and I love the mix you have going realy envious of the choice strains. The Mangobechi is a nice plant I have always wanted to grow myself. The cobs would taste especialy good.
The Spanish breeders are leading the way in my opinion, nice sativas and crosses.
Good luck with the Malawis make sure you take them as late as you can for maximum high effect. My next grow I will be leaving until the plant is all yellow, as the Zamaldelica I grew is amazing i decarb the heads and make cocanut butter, and it gets me a really tripped out high like I like.
To think I used to be able to get this high from 3 drags on a joint in Malawi, but sadly I know have to decarb and extract to get the same effect.
But at least I can get that high again, no matter what it takes its worth it. Good luck with your plants they look good so you must have a good idea what you are doing, thanks for posting them.

Hi Cultivartelo thanks for the post, yes my friend I have made extracts from Zamaldelica feminised, golden tiger fem, C99 and Thai tanic. The Zamal is by far superior to all the other extracts and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I have a clone of the plant vedging now and can't wait to really push her yield wise. The high is very racy and trippy which is what I used to expect from the best cobs I used to score in Malawi. I could not be happier to finally find some decent sativa cannabis. My friends who have smoked her are crazy about the effect, they have never had really good grass before. They now realise what they have been missing getting stoned as opposed to high all these years.
Good luck with your grow I hope you find what you seek.

High report on the GT buds, I now only ingest canna since I found out about Decarbing and cocanut extraction cocanut butter. 1 Gram of decarbed bud and 25grams coca butter gives me 10 trips and I mean trips.
To compare 2.5 grams of butter from Zamaldelica and Golden Tiger separately.
It took me 3 days to tear myself away from the Zamaldelica butter which I cant leave alone.
But I finally had the same dose of GT, wow its another fantastic high but with a heavy stoned feeling to boot, not couch locked but slowed down, eg very slured speech but still active.
I can describe them by telling a story...Late 70's Cambton Town, London, England.
I was going to see a band playing in a bar, so 4 of us dropped a green mcrodot LSD tablet each, I sucked mine till it disolved. On our way there we stopped and bought a bottle of Johnny Walker black label whisky.
We were dancing and drinking neat whisky from the bottle as the acid came on....
Thats Golden Tiger. Like drunk but tripping as well, very cool as long as you dont need to perform anything technical.
Later as we left the band, that had since stopped performing, meaning either we had arrived late or 2 hrs had gone in the blink of an eye, so as you can emagine we were still pretty much going up.
We went to friends house and I had 2 lines of premium Peruvian flake. . Well that feeling you get 30 sec after snorting, "whoosh" is how I feel when I have the Zamaldelica butter 2.5 grams.
So as you can see I no longer have the need to smoke, zamaldelica is pretty much how I want to feel from a natural product like cannabis and cocanut butter. Life doesn't get any better in my book.
I have used every other canna I can get my hands on but none has shone through like Zamaldelica.
