Your plants look amazing, thank you for sharing with us.I've been using mushrooms to make compost for my weed for years. very simple, just let wood chips rot on their own, local mushrooms will colonize them and in 3 years in my climate they are broken down enough to begin mixing into your soil.

a thick layer of good compost like this on top of your pots or beds is fine but tilling them into a soil that has been mineral balanced will give the best results.
