4 dead and over 200 hurt people till now... The Killer is a 50 year old psychiatrist from Saudi Arabia and a Critic of Islam... makes no sense, very strange.

I first saw this on BBC world news yesterday.
This type of thing always makes me angry as well as sad. The people who carry out such attacks, be it with a gun or a vehicle, don´t even care who they kill or injure. Including children. At a christmas market one must assume that there will be also children present .
My condolences to all those who are affected.
They´re just saying that the man was a Saudi doctor who has been living in Germany for about 18 years. They´re trying trying to find out his motivation behind this and are taking a good look at his social media stuff too.
I think these christmas market are a wonderful idea and tradition and I hope that they will be made safer in the future.

no it doesn´t make much sense does it? It´s all very strange . I even heard the AFD party mentioned in the news coverage. We will just have to wait and see what the police find out.

sounds awfully like paranoid schizophrenia, he thought everybody was out to get him and he acted on his delusions... DerSpiegel says he had a courtdate yesterday... that might have been the thing that put him over the edge...

Tragic just for Christmas and for the people who lost their loveones.
Since this happend in Berlin some years ago they build barriers everywhere.
In Magdeburg there also have been these barriers, but with a gap for ambulances, which should have been covered by a police car. But there was no police car closing the gap...

How do people actually get in? It´s all so sad and I feel so sorry for all the people and families how had to pay hospital visits to their friends and the families hwo are forced to plan funerals instead of enjoying a nice meal and giving presents and so on. you know what else is sad? The need to have security in the first place. Peace, love etc have gone to hell just because of a bunch of brainwashed jerks who keep twisting and turnng religious beliefs however it happens to suit them and using it as an excuse to inflict harm. It´s been done sooo many times in the past.

At the entrances there are gaps where only people can fit through, no cars.
And you don't really see these barriers when you are on the market. This picture is also a very extreme example.
Usually there are only a couple of these blocks at the entrances to make sure no bigger vehicle can get in.

sadly people with guns and knives could. They will need airport -like security one day. It just sucks.
