Lucas GH2part vs Maxibloom (Afgoo 1600w)

thanks for the advice on soaking the lines, im positive i would have struggled with that.

so, i have a sort of dilemma, i have to go away for 4 days at week 2 of veg(end of this week),
i understand the importance of feeding daily but i have no way around this...
so i was thinking i might give a good flush with light nutes maybe half strength, the day i leave... and get back on schedule asap, or would u recommend another route???

i ordered blumats but im concerned i wont have them hooked up in time, just want a back up plan...

How fast are they drying out? I do not feed half strength that long, but if they are in your grow bags I would just water them a ton before you leave. As long as your Coco does not get bone dry, you should be fine. Half strength does nothing but slow growth down IMO.

well i guess what im concerned with is the water evaporating and being used and the concentration of nutes left over causing some harm or stress to the plants...thereby my reasoning to maybe half strength...

there still in cups and they are feeding quite nicely @ 2x a day slow steady feed with minimal runoff... haven't let them come close to dry out yet. but feeding full strength for a few days now.

it just dawned on me it may be a good idea to transplant them into there new grow bags before my trip rather than after, i rly wanted to max out the roots in the cups...something to think about...

but these are indicas and im sure they wouldn't be harmed too bad by the nutrient concentration for maybe 3 days ...then nice flush feed when i return...

well your advice is welcomed and i must say im a week in and im pretty much sold on coco it is really working out great and i haven't enjoyed growing this much in years!

If you are feeding full strength 2x a day, then you would be starving them if you do feed half strength and leaving for days!! I would transplant them now, and the bigger container will require less watering. If your roots dry out too much, they will get damaged. I would feel much more comfortable transplanting into a bigger container and leaving for a few days. Just my opinion, but I would not even consider leaving them in those cups for that long without feeding...if they are used to being watered that often. Good luck!!

thank you my friend
i think this is the way to go i will transplant them on thursday,
or friday and feed them well right before i leave.

I Agree, transplant before your trip. Bigger pots=less frequent watering

Ps
I'm really interested in the results of this. I run Lucas (0-8-16) now and was thinking of switching to MaxiBloom. I'll def be watching this closely

just turn everything off till u get back ,they'll be fine ,i did it loads of times ,longest i ever done was 2 weeks ,just switch on when u return :tiphat:

so i fed this morning and noticed some leaves acting a little funny, normally id say this is from some sort of stress, but i did a google on afgoo strain a few weeks back and had come across some pictures of exactly whats happening to mine...

plants seem happy otherwise and it only seems to be happening to a few of them
but usually id equate this to stress like i said but ive tried to keep them stress free.

thoughts???

I really like the idea of this grow. Going to have to keep a nice eye on this one. Lots of good information already. Good luck with the leaf problem TS. It only happening on one set or on both?

Tagged......I only hope it does not end up like the countless others. "I had this problem and that problem and then I screwed up this and that and the results are inconclusive blah, blah, blah..."""

mine vegged for 28 days from clone
but they were in shock for the first week
and they kept bushing and bushing without growing upward while i let my other strain grow out a little bit
i think i would have been more efficient putting 9 afgoos under each 600 watt lamp and vegging for 2 weeks
that would be about 1 per square foot
also, i wish i had topped 1 or 2 to see the effects
by the way, i am using lucas now; i have maxibloom on deck, but i think i will try the jack's pro + calcium nitrate recipe as i am a cheeaaaaap ass

i wish you well on your grow
looking forward to see some killer buds on your thread

Hello everyone, hope you all had some love in your life this valentines day...

no better time than now right ??@#$%^&*

well here they are in there final home one more week of veg then we shall do the flip..

nice choice of coco fiber ;) I'm a big fan of the royal gold. I run the maxi-grow in veg, I like the k.i.s.s. of it, 1 scoop per 2.5 gals of water and a shake for 30 seconds and I'm good to go.

Day 2 LST // Week 2 of Veg

took some pictures, got the more tops and light to the middle like i wanted from the LST...

so these babies are stayin pretty squat, but i like the LST so far seems like they took to it well...
seen a couple spots of PM, sprayed with serenade, also noticed a white ring around the base of a few stems? could this be PM as well or salt build up maybe?
i should have taken pics of this...maybe later...

so what do you guys do about runoff as it builds up? i cant imagine lifting my plants all thru the grow to remove it...??

thanks for the comments and input everyone rly helps a lot.
peace

You could use a shop vac to suck up the run off. Tape the hose end to a broom stick and you can reach the back ones.

it's pretty necessary to remove the run-off from the saucers, unless your watering too much if it's building up. Adjust your watering accordingly, shouldn't have too much run-off, it should evaporate or be taken up by the plant. When the plants develop more they will suck it right up. The ring around the stem makes me think you need to let the coco dry a little more between watering.
