LSD = Manslaughter?

This has been bugging me for sometime and was unable to find any info on it so Id thought Id ask here. Supposivly it counts as a manslaughter charge for each hit of acid that you have on you. Is this true? Id like someone with a knowledge in the criminal justice system to tell me. Also I live in FL in case that matters.

I would also like some info on lsd laws. I can't seem to really find any right now, but I can guess that it's bad. No wonder acid is hard to find for some these days, it's too much risk.

Ha!

Big brother must believe in the mystical power of death and LSD for that to be so.

Seriously, I think it is in cases of selling. Usually reserved, most laws are. Just because they can charge you doesn't mean that they will. There are so many stories, some true, some fiction as to drugs causing out ragious behaviour that results in death of the user and or others.

Sadly, consciousness isn't all that safe to explore.

I live in FL also, and I've heard the same via word of mouth....Don't recall any such events through the news, however.

The only event I could recall is one in which someone gave someone lsd and they died from an accident as a result from something happening and the eprson who gave it to her was charged with manslaughter but I always here that just possesion is a manslaughter charge.

Total bullshit. The death of a human being is required for a manslaughter charge. Now, if you sold it to someone who died as a direct result of usage its highly likely. That'd likely be a suicide as the LD50 of LSD is way way out there so overdose is highly unlikely.

I've always wondered why people make up stuff like this, and why it is repeated by others as if true.

yes but not specific info on where this comes from or the penalties for possesion. obviously a lot of people have been told a hit of lsd is a manslaughter charge so Id like to know why.

http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/agency/penalties.htm

Found this.

Also I never really thought this was true but have heard a lot of people say this and wonder where it exactly originates from.

There has to be a death in order for there to be a manslaughter charge. What you probably heard was someone gave another person a hit of acid and it caused the persons death. That could lead to a DA charging the person with manslaughter. It would be the same if you were to get into a fight with someone and they died. Although your intent was not to kill them, they still died so a manslaughter charge would be in order.....

It's the same phenom that causes 'urban legends'. People make up some bullshit and swear it's true. Others don't bother to question, but pass it on to other gullible people.

Main reason it is hard to find is that the folks who were making more than 50% of the doses in North America got busted in 2000.

http://www.dea.gov/pubs/states/newsrel/2003/sanfran112403.html

quoted from the article:
Melgren stated that according to court testimony, this was the single largest seizure of an operable LSD lab in the history of the Drug Enforcement Administration. DEA agents seized approximately 41.3 kilograms (90.86 pounds) of LSD, approximately 97.5 kilograms (214.5 pounds) of lysergic acid, a precursor to LSD, approximately 23.6 kilograms (51.92 pounds) of iso-LSD, a by-product from the manufacture of LSD and 19 kilograms (41.8 pounds) of ergocristine, a precursor to LSD with the ability to create an additional 12.4 kilograms (27.28 pounds of LSD.

Thats over 400 million hits of LSD, at 100 mikes per........

OOP ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the offense is the possession of not more than 20 grams of cannabis, as defined in this chapter, the person commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. For the purposes of this subsection, "cannabis" does not include the resin extracted from the plants of the genus Cannabis, or any compound manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of such resin.

It appears that possession of less then 20 grams is a class a misdemeanor. That is pretty stiff. You could get a year in jail for that. Thats rediculous.....

I didnt mean cannabis possesion Im aware of those laws I meant possesion of lsd. Im curious to know what the penalty is.

It's a myth. I believe snopes.com has something on it, but I'm certain that it's been debunked as an urban legend.

Cheers!

I'm sure that if you were found to have LSD on you, it would be the same charge as if you were found with any other controled substance such as cocaine, or meth. But, I speak this living in CA, so other states may be other wise.
