I would be callin the airport and my buddy with a safe deposit box. I hear panama is nice!

But at least when you know your grow is busted, your not gonna get caught going there. That is the key. But it would be tempting to sneak back for some clones. But I would imagine all that would be in some evidence room or in the front yard drying up.

I hate some of these fat idiot pigs, not all of em, just the ones that fell like its there buisiness to tell everyone how to behave and make a huge deal out of made up, revenue generating crimes. Dude...that's like poking a rattlesnake with a stick. I'm sure the poison running through your body would be a rush too. Main reason I could see using cameras in a remote location would be if the place was somehow not in your name and could not be traced to you then I could understand wanting to know what's going on before visiting. I'm gonna use them, along with some remote sensors, to monitor some basics so I can take a peek instead of having to trudge out to the back 40.

I've been thinking of a system where you have a old boombox inside you enterens and in it a mobilephone and a motoin detector or if possible a mobilephone with camera and software that reacts if there is a differens in the picture and then sends a message to a prepaid mobilephone. If the cops came,they wouldn't nessesarily even spot the phone inside and start to trace it.
Oh, and the boombox powercord would go to the phone charger inside,of course...

I believe hooking up communications equipment in an otherwise anonymous area serves to increase risk. And hooking up remote-controlled bomb as payn inquires about puts lives at risk as well as opening up the possibility of a life sentence.

Sorry if my concern offends you, but when you get down to it, the only post I see in this thread that is offensive is the one where the poster tells a negative fuck to fuck off.

How about something along the old "hair taped to the door" trick?

You could set something up just inside the door which would knock over a flag in the window:

Balance a 4x4 post inside the door far enough away so you could open the door and edge in, but close enough so anyone who didn't know it was there would knock it over. Tightly tie a string from the top to a piece of cardboard in the window. If the piece of cardboard isn't in the window or has been put back differently than you left it, you know the door has been opened.

Those are some good suggestions erin, but they are not suited for my purpose and they are actually flawed by newton's law, or some other dead philosopher's. Anything that can happen, will happen. So what if for some reason my trap is sprung, the flag goes up. I should never return right? But I really have no fucking clue what set it off. An earthquake, Deep base from my mexican neighbors eldorado, a fucking stoner mouse that lives in my nice warm attick even. Those are security measures but hardly a solution to the issues at hand.

For everyone that doesnt see a need for security systems with cameras, motion dection, text message alerts , the whole nine yards, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG THREAD! Please go start another thread and call it "alternatives to remote accessible security systems"

Also, I am not growing 6 plants in a fucking garden of ease. I only plan on dropping a grand on this stuff(including new computer,desk and chair) which is nothing compared to what my profits or my freedom is worth!!! !!!

I will have all the hardware by Friday hopefully, and should be up and running with in two weeks!

With this system you could call the mobile (its on silent and "auto-answers/handfree) and listen to whats going on at your site in a case of an alarm...
In my opinion this kind of system wouldn't be to bad,and a lot cheaper...

And I think you could make a videocall to the mobile (its still on silent and "auto-answers/handfree) if the phone is 3G!!!

I don't know what kind of person you are but if your like me you have to have surveillance to have piece of mind. Nothing on the actual plants but on the entry to the room etc. I have been using a program called VISEC for about a year now. I have a fast and secure computer. You will need one too if your going to use this great method. I have 100% control of the motion detection settings and amount of cameras i use. I current am using a camera in my garage, a camera in my main room, a camera in my bed room and last but not least a camera on my front porch. argue all you want but my set up is key. I know who comes who trys to come etc.. etc... I have see many things that have gone on around my house that I would have never know about other wise. When I'm smoking I can put the cameras on my TV screen and have a noise that activates if someone is out front. Don't have any illegal activities going on while the camera are on. IF I'm working on my grow cab I simply turn that camera off. It's fool proof. Mean while I can monitor my house from work or any other computer. Again I have been being saved by my cameras for a bit over a year now. I did heavy research and found that VISEC while pricey ($99) is worth it. I have about 400 invested in cameras and every thing works great. Their are many options and ways to do this. I have already explained more then I have time to. Just DO IT.

thanks badger!, I think I remember from og, what were you involved in? I was just a we lad in those days, just did alot of browsin, no postin yet.
That system is just like the X10 only minus all the advertising nonsense. But hte X10 software apperantly is not capable of detecting motion like the visec, hence the need for the seperate motion detectors. Maybe that is a better plan. Ill have to do some more research and planning.

I know a professional CCTV is around a grand. This would include a DVR with CD burner and NIC, and 4 color cameras that work in low light. The DVR detects any pixel changes, then starts recording. That way it doesnt waste space and when you review it, you are reviewing only activity and not idle time. You can log in to the DVR from any location since it has an IP address.

I dont know if it can be set to notify you of any changes.

Depending on where these cameras are set up, you may not want notification each time.

dude i bought the x10 300 set with the 4 cameras. Ive have to box but havent had time to fuck with it. Before i ordered i called the hotline, they told me that it WILL record on motion to a vcr and to a ftp server as long as you have 2 open usb slots. The software can be used remotley and it even give yuo one camera that you can move online. I odnt know how it works yet though

I wouldn't have the camera set up via internet,it's traceable!
You can say you use tor or what ever,but internet security is NEVER 100%, the mobilephone is much safer in my opinion...
No one seems to like this idea,I can understand why...

The problem is not the phone, all 3G phones would be capable of this. The problem is the software, you would just need to compare pictures from the camera and when a change occurs, make a video call back home or send an sms alarm and then you could make a video call back to the phone which is on on silent ringing and auto answer/ handsfree.
Oh! and you would get audio as well!!!
If I just knew how to program on the sybian platform,heh, or program at all for that matter...

they are wireless so you dont have to run wiring 100 feet to the monitor,PC,recorder whatever. Most people do not try hiding their cameras
