Does anyone know where one can obtain either briar wood or mercelyian(butchered that spelling)? I've always wanted to whittle my own pipe, the native wood around here has little to offer.

there called churchwardens, any pipe(tobacco) shop on the net will have them, just search for churchwarden pipe in google and you'll find some places that sell them. Prices range from ~40$-200$ depending on the quality of the briar.

i whittled a lil spoon a year or so ago.......i made the mistake of bringing it somewhere i shouldn't have and it was removed from my possession...........definitely wasn't happy about that. Make your own, it'll become your lil baby!

whatcha need to do is find an old antique store- they always have many many old wooden pipes- some big, some small... i have three great ones- all from antique shops around my area.. look around in one- its actually quite fun!

yep. This one is named Bambashi, but most of my good friends have them too. Whats cool is that they have their nae on them in japanese caligraphy and they size, shape, and design is dependent on who i made it for.

heres another one i made for my buddy. hes on the chubby side and he's short hehe. mines tall and skinny. He ended up naming his stubbyMcfatsy.


and its jointed with non-toxic hot glue so everything is gooooooood.
