The organics subforum is an oasis in the desert of cannabis mythology and bad advice.

wow did not expect y'all to be up at this time of day. perfect :) I've been nocturnal now that my lights run 7pm to 7 am...

cc - thanks for the info on peat. what i don't understand is why his mix is doing so well compared to your mix (which uses the exact same peat...). any insight to this? if you want me to post the exact recipes I can...obviously you know yours lol

w89 - ouch that is not a good piece of mail to receive. hoping I don't get anything like that anytime soon...

agreed that the RIU forum is full of bad advice...really made me think twice about everything people were saying on there. Found myself just reading LD aka CC's advice from other websites, to the point where I figured I might as well call this home :) im here and not looking back

rrog - agreed, that was one of the only productive threads with positive information being shared. thanks for that btw, you help out a lot over there.

I think I am going to run a side by side with my water-only (and AACT and FPE of course) soil mixes, vs. the remainder of some roots organic bottled nutrients I have w/ roots organic 707 soil mix. Maybe one of the pots I will water with tap water to show the harmful effects of chlorine, but I don't own any chemical nutes to use lol

just been nd bought a couple coconuts... also some mollasses but its not in liquid form kinda sticky dry powered stuff

"Our unrefined natural sugar has been carefully produced to lock in, rather than refine out,the natural molasses of the sugar cane..."

Cootz? Can you use the white stuff in the coconut or just the liquid?

I scrape out the 'gel' and feed that to the worms - great material to add. The white 'shell' should be chopped up and you can add that to your compost pile. I try and remove as much of the gel as possible.

I had a couple of questions for you about the neem meal that you purchased:

I pay about $1.80 per lb. for neem or karanja meals when buying a full bag - how does that compare to your pricing?

Are you able to find neem oil?

Thanks!

I purchased everything at Home Depot but I seem to remember that the piece you're asking about was also in the plumbing (PVC) section but I had to ask the gentleman for help and he walked me to a rack that had all kinds of interesting PVC adapters, etc. that was around the corner where the regular PVC materials were stocked.

Please do! It will show But if you want to save some time.... Just give your bottles away and run a good soil mix....

I have personally run 707 with General Organics and with Roots Bottles... Not even close to my living soil mix.... In every single aspect.... But especially time and money.

My buddies - Roots Organic (Aurora Innovations) - quite a crew to write home about. They buy some of their ingredients at the organic farm supply that I (and everyone else) shops at in PDX

I'll leave it at that.....

I paid £8.80 for 2.5 kg.Which will last me ages so I didnt mind paying that delivery as 5.95 So I ordered my kelp with the same order to save on delivery charges is 5.95 for as much stuff as you want any weigth...The kelp was £7.95 for 2 kg..

It was the only neem product they had. I've seen Neem oil on Ebay before but where I live it's hard to find organic meals.. fish blood and bone. bone meal and grow more 7/7/7 and chicken manure pellets is about all I can source from the shops near me.. I'm now going to go pet at home.(our pet smart) and try get some alfalfa pellets tho..

EDIT Neem works out at 1.60 per Lb... without delivry
