What i am seeing is GG4 being hyped and yes it will fade like all others that's a given
just because it won some cup i still cannot find the link to where it won it ?? LA cup ???
is LA cannibas cup bigger then Amsterdam cup ??? or any other cup where some top breeders tend to play ???
for instance to my understanding the best strains out there right now are

Quantum kush
White walker OG
Hell raiser OG
Sin mint cookies
CBD God
and Big Budda Cheese

So just because it may have won LA cup in some category doesn;t mean it will stand up to other strains produced by high end breeders in europe and south america

I think most of the hype is based on the actual grow journals and the words of the reviewers who are respected in the community. I believe the cup you're referring to was from Michigan.

Pretty much spot on description. I really lucked out as I got this strain from a bag seed of a commercially bought ounce. Never saw a seed in my grows and it's been here for a few years now.

lol I will never understand why some try so hard to attack GG#4.. These people have never grow gg#4.. They always say hype because they cant get her. Don't let these trouble makers get you down that's why we have ignore. The Thousands that have her know how good she is that's why we grow her. If it was hype we would not it's pretty simple. There posts are just stupid we know what good weed is.. As for the cups there all produced by Hightimes same event that's in the UK so any breeders from UK can enter here just like we enter there.. I'm not a fan of HT but having there events is better than not..

My bro got that MI Cup win! He doesn't smoke and wasn't going to enter it because it had already won in LA and several peeps had entered it here. I sample & critique his gear before he enters a competition and the GG4 was so good I told him he'd be razy not to enter it! I've been smoking over 26 yrs, everyday for over 20... is it the best ever? No, but it's one of those unique crosses that I feel is worth the "hype"

My homies are seasoned tokers too and they all now grow the GG4 after I let em smoke it!

I haven't smoked or grown GG4, but am curious as to what makes it stand out to everyone from all the other strains you've encountered. Is it the yield that has made it so popular or the smoke? Maybe both?

Here is why I like it so much, it smells like roasted mocha coffee beans with burnt rubber which is an awesome combo, when smoking the taste is one of my favorites and lingers on my pallet for a long while after smoking. It's very strong compared to most strains I have run.

Here is why I like to grow it, fucking easy very easy to grow plant. Good to great yields. She is stunning to look at both pre and post harvest. Commands top shelf at the dispenseray I visit.

i'm not as good as you've been led to believe, i've only had 2 strains spit nanners on me in the last 5 years. one was a cross i "made" and another was an ecsd cross i grew. i guess maybe those genes are just prone to hermies?

Sorry any strain can pop naners. Its in there nature to do so. Not possible to eliminate it 100%. All have the hermie trait.. Even under perfect environmental conditions. Karmas OG spits them. Karma does outstanding work. The person that grew then also does outstanding work. Would I not grow Karma's or anyone's gear because naners where found absolutely not. That same cut that spit them might not in another garden. Its a crap shoot when running anything new. To rule out such outstanding Cultivars because some gardens toss naners would be a lose lose for all. We grow many many more cultivars than you do. This pheno of Grape Stomper I found spits seeds with no pollination. Here is a pic. Would I stop grwoing GS now no I would not. I would keep looking for something better in the same line. I have always known you dont grow well. You know this. Anyway more frosty pics soon to come.

But I'll put her value this way..

I've grown for over 15 years, and she is the most valuable cut I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

It gets to the point where she makes you feel blessed.
