Lets have a death star thread! Come on in!

Oh and another thing to PureKnowledge:

If you do this, and have the time, with stabilization and a side-by-side with the original, with enough stock you will find the phenotype. But one thing that did make this cross different is the fact that it was actually a feminized cross, this was some female-on-female action and IMO probably an accident as CS breeding wasn't big at the time the original was done, which is why it probably became to much of a problem and didn't make it to the cup and didn't end up a stock of seeds for the public that was planned.

True this was a VERY amazing cut of ECSD, but the HT article said 7-8 years ago, I remember smoking this strain at LEAST 10 years ago.

Side note as well to everyone:

Available now in CO dispensaries is what they are calling 'Biesel' and 'Bio-Diesel'; which you can check out online and you can see the clear difference in choice phenotypes with their ECSD x Sensi Star hybrid, from what I hear these guys were working towards a DeathStar remake and ended up with something that looks and feels nothing like the Ohio DS.

Just though I'd throw that out there.

-LIG

From what I've heard, so far there is not a planned release to the public. The Seed Ship sailed, and they didn't show up to the cup. So the jury is out on that one.

Deathstar has always been a 'niche' group of smokers favorite little secret, and it looks like it's gonna stay that way.

Peace

Death Star is a proprietary Medical strain developed and created here in Colorado.
Death Star definitely dose not originate in Ohio.
The Death Star Colorado origination is a known fact.
The breeder is not from Ohio.

hey smurf...

what is it that makes death star such a hyped up strain?????

it is a great strain, but is it REALLY worth the hype?

i mean come on... there is a group or people (or a single person for all i know) who has gone as far as making shirts and logos and a website for this strain??? LOL :biglaugh:

but what is it that sets this strain a part from all others?
:chin:

Recieved some stuff for my collidal silver generator today! Will be spraying the sensi star oger and letting her nut all over the ecsd when I get them established for moms and my breeding tent up.

There ya go, I will say again, the ECSD cut is definitely the best I have ever smoked, but with growing out enough of these S1's you will find a phenotype very similar to the original.

Now also take into consideration that 'Biesel/Bio-Diesel' has been released in CO dispensaries and clones are available (by the way to the people out there who don't know OHIO is the birthplace, I know it as fact, not fiction, which is why in CO it's called Bio-Diesel, cause it's not the same breeders, or the same cut)

And if anyone wants to dispute the preference for Lemon G over DeathStar, rememeber that DeathStar is heavily Indica influenced with a CHEM-up buzz, and Lemon G is really a Sativa dominant, you can tell by it's structure and the buds that obviously it's at least 60/40 Sativa Dom, and trying to dispute which is better is just stupid because they are two different worlds, and in terms of medical qualities, if you are looking for anxiety relief = lemon g. pain relief=deathstar.

I love both as much as the next guy but gotta remember those are two different worlds.

Just curious on this one... Where did you procure these "Ohio DeathStar" seeds?

Sounds like someone might have ripped you off. There hasn't been a seed release of 'Ohio DeathStar', there was a planned release but it didn't happen and TDS wasn't at the cup, plus the clone hasn't been released to the medical community yet either. Still only floating in 'jedi-circles' from what I know, and I've been around it long enough to wonder how you got seeds of it.

There has been a few people who have crossed this CLONE-only strain, but it has only been small private breeders. If you got anything it would have to be a feminized 'S1' as the original was a feminized cross so there is no male seeds of 'Ohio DeathStar' only.. so I'm just hoping someone didn't sell you these 'DS' seeds, it would be a shame.

Now DarkStar, or Jedi Death Star (Jedi x The White), those can be found in seed forms, but neither have even a close genetic make-up of the original OH-DS.

Pretty positive it's from Ohio...Although it has made it's way out to Colorado.

LIG : You sound like a salesman. "You want it so badly, but you'll never get iiiiiiit!" Cool it with the marketing.

Everyone else: The only appealing dried bud photo in this thread is the one from the Farm - JRosek was right. All others, especially the guy who posted the same pics twice saying it was the best representation when it looks molded or soon-to-be, aren't very appetizing. You don't need an SLR camera to capture good-looking grass, just patience and SCISSORS to trim those buds, people!

hahahha!!

in no way shape or form. actually I personally have no connection to the TDS people, and haven't for years. Don't know the original breeders, but I do remember the first time I smoked it. Like I've said time and time again, it's just a great gem, i definitely don't claim it to be the best by ANY means, it's just a really great strain to smoke on. I only talk to people who are close to the crew, and yea there was no seed release, just saying, and I even told a guy EXACTLY how to re-create it.... That's some bad marketing.

lol, yes it is. Well I am glad to hear it was an S1 and not anything else, but there is some private breeders from around the original area working on crosses of it. Personally I don't like the 'ethics' of the 'jedi circles' but thats what they like to call themselves.

If there is new word that CC is really releasing the OG-DeathStar that was planned at one point it would be interesting to see for sure, from what I heard it wasn't going to be released and CC never made an official word on it's release from my knowledge.

Hope those S1's turn out as nice as the originals. It's a great strain worth having a clone of. Like I've said before, not the best in the world, but the ECSD they used, really made it.

@Wild Eep: Another note, I have mainly glorified the ECSD cut that they had to do the cross more so than the actual cross. The truth is, this strain was, and still to most is pretty inaccessible, but that doesn't mean I'm hyping it. It needs no hype, when and if they smoke it, they will enjoy it and maybe they will keep it in there stable, others won't.

It's cannabis. This just happens to be a very nice strain with great trich coverage, for me a nice pain relieving high, and it warrants a little respect, not what HT made it out to be, but for what it really is - Pretty Damn Decent.
