Leetdood's growing struggles

Took a long sleep and woke up to rez ecsd clones looking straight up dead. Decided to give em some water asap in case they could be salvaged. Well they look mostly fine now. Always amazes me when plants bounce back like that.

Mini trays should arrive today.

First tray is doing well. Just bleached some scalpel blades to sanitize for hlvd. Rinsed and dried them off. Need to pick up the pace the plants are *extremely* overgrown. I'm pretty caught up on watering so it's clones and defol today again. All the clones I've taken are doing well for the most (underdog didn't root.) And are adequately watered. It took a bit to get them all properly organized and easily accessible. Got the plants I need to clone all lined up.

After cloning and defol/cutback I need to sanitize the 4 inch pots.

Really struggling with the new rigid small dome by the way. Gary Payton is hanging on by a thread. It's so airtight I'm having to re learn the whole process for that type specifically. The sun blaster trays and lids are a loose fit so normal process there. Wipe down dome, open vents for increasing periods of time or gradually. Make sure plugs don't dry out.

All the cuttings look great also.

Need to make feed for Not HP13 and Strawberry Gary, and the rest of the plants that aren't gmo or hiro4. Zero cal nit, full epsom and masterblend bloom, and 3g gypsum per gallon. Gonna measure runoff and try and get it to reasonable numbers for flush/fade.

Owen adds "Hey so I got some of your gypsum in and just did some testing. at 1 tbsp per 5 gal that works out to about 3 grams per Gal. The EC was about 1.0. for flush this ratio would work fine I'd even go as low as 2 g per Gal.

For just an addition of calcium into your feed I'd say even 1 gram per gallon. I'm going to come back to you around end of May and see how my flush does.

This is just a reference for anyone coming to you guys using rockwool and possibly needed some suggestions this may help them out."

So I got the info from here but also confirmed with farmer joe. He said he does last 10 days which tracks.

Fed Not HP13 and Strawberry Gary a gallon each. End runoff EC was about 2.6-2.8 with 1.75 EC going in (gypsum feed)

Day 62 flower I believe.

Filled (ish) a 2nd sun blaster tray with clones. Need to make a list of everything I've taken rooted or not and see what's left. Gonna empty the floraflex trays into the mini trays and label em with painters tape. Dude on overgrow mentioned using paint tape for labels cause I complained my tape labels would always come off, and it's honestly been pretty clutch. They don't stick 100% of the time but it's thicker than masking tape and just adheres a lot better. Really clutch. I started taping the front bottom edge of the trays to label the rows after seeing homie Badd News do it. Need to show him how wicked awesome Tahoe is.

So empty the floraflex trays and sanitize and take clones of what's missing. I'm headed up to the city to get a new stainless steel muffler put on, so I'm gonna see if my grandma is down with me sanitizing my 4 inch pots in her double sink. Gonna transplant any rooted singles or any rooted clone in poor health to the 4 inches.

It's been a while since I stated my goal but here goes again: basically reset anything I can to clone and flower the plants out for medicine. Use beneficals to knock back or possibly eradicate the mite/thrip population. More likely they are an effective control measure but need more active predators for eradication, and less crowded foliage. Treat clones and small plants with IPM and clean up and organize my entire place.

Simply, ensure medicine supply then clean whole garden and place. Establish routine ipm. Improve tools, processes, and grow space.

So for now before I head up in hour and a half, water and check clones. After that, everything I mentioned and cutting plants back drastically since they are so overgrown. They have amazing healthy canopies but get crowded so the lowers get light deprived, and are too tall to flower. Because I've managed to do 5 trays of clones, and am caught up on flower and watering for the most, I can dedicate more time to that.

Scope Strawberry Gary and Not HP13 tomorrow I think. Should be day 65 flower and primo picking in theory. If they're ready, take pics, chop chop, hang up, about a week dry. I'm running low on bud so that would be nice. Not HP13 might be tricky to take out but I figure just chop SG then move sherb (front right) cake (center) and hiro4 (front middle) out of the way, and take it out, then put them back. Might be tricky but I think it's do able if I can support sherb from flopping outside the tent. Cake would for sure flop so I'd move it to the side inside the tent to where SG was.

Will try and take some nice pics for you guys if I can. Just been pretty busy and I haven't had days off in a long while. So I'm never sure what I'm up to but I just do what I can every day and take care of myself and tell myself that even if I have to physically wade through plants (yes) I'm getting there and having rooted clones and am about to harvest beautiful plants like look at that fade on strawberry gary it's like fall colors. Eventually I'll get to the point where I can start cleaning everything.

End of day 64 soon

GMO needs full PK and some cal nit still. Will be making 4.5 gal with 3.6g epsom, 8g cal nit, and 18g masterblend bloom, for those two.

Took some pics of the 2 gmo ladies. Not sure if I can get it to go 27 more days but we will see how it fades and swells. Once again forgive me for the pest damage.

Oh I got a load of those 4 inch pots washed, but not sanitized. Muffler is on my car though now, I checked :) guys at the shop were nice. Don't think I've seen a shop before where everybody looks like a straight up mechanic but they did a great deal and put a nice stainless steel exhaust on. Rust up here in canada is a serious issue.

Pics galore

Made the GMO feed, will measure runoff when I can use shop vac (2.5 hours until quiet hours end, I try and be respectful to my downstairs neighbour)

Gonna continue watering plants, bit behind, but most of the clones are looking good. Gonna organize and make a list as I mentioned. Do have dentist at 11 but hoping to get good work done before and after. Some clones are taking off even though they're in plugs, with the constant/bottom feeding. So that needs attention during organizing and making the list. Chemdog clones likely need to go in the 4 inch pots, they don't really like the, how do I say, inconsistent access to nutrients. One guy online mentioned that chem doesn't like salt build up on its root tips. So while chem d likes a medium/regular level of light and nutrients (not modern full on push) and likes being fed regularly (not too wet, not too dry) oh heck now I'm thinking like

It lives in the goldilocks zone! Lol

So you can see how it wouldn't want too big of a container, but not too small. Basically everything has to be in the normal ranges. Kinda like bubba or irene, but more quick to lash out if somethings wrong. Irene will just stall out hard, bubba will stall a bit.

So those go in the 4 inches when I get them ready, etc.

Cut plants back then then sanitize trays to take more clones. Pretty sure there's a few still need taking, even if i got almost all of them. If I manage to get that organization and list done I'll post it.

Gonna stay up and scope strawberry gary most likely, at lights on, and harvest if it's ready. I failed to mention that the plants seem to be slowing down on uptake, my main assumption is this is because they're, aside from gmo, done with the bulking stage.

Edit: Some quick pics of sg I took via ig

Man stardawgs some good shit man

Got a bunch of that work to pop, so forth, I already mentioned some

So I know there's better cuts or phenos than Corey

But

Stardawg Corey just some regular good shit man. Rubber fire chem tire burning dank burning ya eyeballs but not putting you straight to sleep. As I mentioned above chem d a needy lady, but Corey? Corey's a great plant to run man, you can always do better and better, but it's pretty easy to run man.

I will say uhh some guys I know, actually, let me link my thing here...

So I've mentioned homie before.. and his partner/friend. So what I was gonna say, these dudes been running a Corey cross that they prefer over Corey. Again I think you can find phenos better than Corey. But if you look at the plant they run, the Corey heime 2, I'll find pics later, it's really nice looking and got that, see the name, heime rks, with the cheese, by pagoda seeds (seem like cool folks idk much tho) to make like cheddar skunk that's the dad. So Corey heime, it's stardawg but with that stinky cheese and I guess the Corey golfball style meeting the skunk bracts vs leaf ratio, if you know what I mean, it's got that gelato 33 Larry Bird look, good yield, beautiful green bracts, but a trimmers dream! But instead of g33 it's Corey heime with that chem n skunk Mashup.

So I like Corey it's real easy to run and reliable meds, but if you do it right, looks like you can find better. Gonna post pic i have on MacBook of illuminati stardawg also for fun.

Anyway I just love Corey it's great yet somehow functional smoke. Not everybody's into that "chemfusion" effect but I love it. Makes me feel slow but sometimes I just feel like I over think things.

Again not sure what I can link on here so just showing my ig with the badd news info to make it clear who I'm talking about. You can see Corey heime 2 mentioned as the mom to Wild Child, I think.

Great thing about stardawg as a production plant is the only thing that's "watering" it down is afghani, and that's debatable if that's a water down 😁

Top dawg did really great work on that, my ix packs are like gold to me

GMO runoff was high, something like 4.2 EC

forum can take a lot but GMO is pretty D leaning. I almost said dominant but no you can definitely see the forum flower structure and trichome coverage and structure.

So I think that's definitely too high, I don't think I did a bad job per se but I don't think that's good either. So I fed the full pk / reduced calnit feed thru, flushed it a little. Unfortunately at the same time I found out my adhd meds kick in *really hard* if you don't eat enough. So I did not make the dentist and didn't get much else done.

HiRo4 got the gypsum feed cause as vigorous as it is, day 62 for it means there's only 15 days left at most, and its more what I would say a good eater, not like a Takeru Kobayashi level plant like SG or as24. Runoff was good, I think about 3.2 ec or so. Big pot there, not sure how big, but pretty big for this plant, so I was happy with that. She doesn't look quite ripe yet, but as I mentioned, the hairs turned early and the buds look pretty filled out. The yield isn't high to start with but ultimately what I want to see is if it can be washed for headstash hash/rosin also, not just flower.

Crab commander mentioned to me basically that it's hard to get a dank pine washer, especially with a complex flavor profile. HiRo4 is **really fucking loud** to the point where that small seeded plant full of Money OG that I hung dry for 4 weeks, reeked thru the medium freezer bag I put it in to show my cousin and uncle. Still too sticky to break up by hand even after 4 weeks dry too.

First go on flower was the original seed plant, but it seems to keep that loudness and vigor. Just trying to really nail her to see the maximum potential there at some point. Cause that first go would smoke me disabled. Now I think about it, it's like how Corey makes me dull and slow kinda, but amped up. I always figured that was the Chem 4 shining thru stardawg with the no ceiling smoke someone told me about. It makes sense with that "stardawggy" bud structure. Like ogkb/irene type makes the plant and the nodes, slow veg, and tolerance for salts, but stardawg pumps out the effects. I95 smell best of both worlds.

Didn't get to scope and chop sg and nhp13 yesterday. They definitely need pulling though so I'm gonna do that this morning and water/flush sherb while I'm at it. So I'll likely try and take pics and report back, etc.

Burn one for me.. or several bowls.. have a great day

The humidity dropped hard when I opened the window to let cool air in. So I watered both sherb with that gypsum feed/flush. Showing 2.8 to 2.9 runoff ec which ain't bad. It ain't great but it's better than for example where gmo was at.

Gonna let rh build back up to 50% and water / cut back some plants. Then pull strawberry gary and not hp13. Plants look beautiful by the way. Could've been done better but likely, honestly, my best run ever, just without anything non cookies (except maybe not hp13). Hoping to keep getting better and better runs in there.

Really digging your grow diary :good:I'm sure you'll improve with every grow and with all the many different strains you gain a lot of knowledge. The more different varieties i have in a tent, the more difficult it is to keep everylady happy but then again variety is the spice of life
Happy to read about your upcoming harvest and it's results, curious how the smoke will be after a good cure :jump:

Thank you!

The main thing is I just want to show people that it's okay to try things and fail. Not everything will work. The goal is to improve but everybody has their own way.

I also want to share my observations with people. Like being able to recognize triangle kush and forum in wedding cake aka triangle mints #23. Triangles kinda got that puffy marshmallow look going on, hard to describe, and forum / cookie derivatives seem to have that trefoil

sugar leaf look going on. You can see see in sherb and cake. Bit of a curl up to the leaves too.

And I still wonder what's up with sunset sherbet giving me bubba vibes.

Struggling to maintain rh without high temps, getting there though. Need to fix my humidifier or buy a new one. It's 50 rh but about 75f / 25c. So gonna try and see if I can get it to cool now lights are going off, then finally chop the plants. Rather chop late I suppose, than have them dry poorly.

The plants will generate humidity as they dry and offgas but I didn't want to start at a point that was too dry or too hot.

I've seen some things mentioned about a multi stage dry process, where they don't run it as cold at the start to extract the majority of the water content, then do it more low and slow at the end so the buds and leaves dry evenly. Supposed to have better results because it's supposed to be more of an even dry at the end because they quickly extract the majority of the moisture then allow that to even out properly, instead of going low and slow the whole time and letting the surface dry out most. Not sure if I'm explaining that well but that's how I understand it as is, you know?

Because I've definitely seen some plants dry differently than others, and some of them don't quite dry so evenly if you're going like 60f 60rh. Like this is a blast from the past but when I was like 23, something like that, I was growing a cool pheno of skunk #11 from Dutch Passion. So around week 7 or 8 it'd look all like popcorn buds and larf. I was real disappointed, I gotta tell ya. Week 7, there's barely anything! I was running these ladies under the xxxl magnum reflectors too so again, just real surprised and disappointed. Anyway, next 2 weeks, explosive growth. Totally filled in. Kinda that marshmallow bud style, I wanna say like if you've seen topanga or Jean guy, that's how it looks like kinda. So great results, very glad. But then the drying, man it stayed so wet my guy would not buy it. Neither would his homie. So I just smoked it myself, but yeah, that bud just would not dry out with the normal process. I think homie was pissed cause I kept trying to tell him, I don't have stuff immediately available. I gotta dry it, trim it, then it's available. Trimming blows. I was 23 and lazy. Lol
