LED Microgrow

So for Round 1, I got 33Dry from 42 watts of LED which is 0.78 GPW. Pretty fucking good for my first time around, I didn't even use the LEDS last go around until a few weeks into flowering. Smoke was pretty good, but not quite what I am used to.

Round two folks.

Left to right is HG and FH. I don't know who created Holy Grail, but it is a stellar indica. FH is an East coast Kush/Sour Cut.

HG has 2 x 23 watt 6500k CFLS with reflectors and FH has only been getting 1 x 23 watt with reflector. I must say they make a HUGE difference when you are using non directional lighting. HG is 21 days from seed and FH is 19 from seed. Both plants already have strong smells and its only a few weeks in! I topped HG a few day ago, and I am about to top FH soon. As soon as they recover from topping, they will get flipped. Both plants are about 6-7 inches.

Cotyledons have fell off along with first set of true leaves.

HG was flipped to 12/12 at 24 days and FH at 22 days. Back at it with 42w of LED

Day 5 12/12
Both
Holy Grail
FH

I did not use any veg nutes. Just PH'd water. Plants looked much better this time around and grew much quicker. Want to also try something different then GH Flora this time for flower. Any recommendations?

First photo looking good.
Second photo has hooked leaf tips, possible over watering?

I guess I need a new digital PH tester. I still have some winging tips, but not as bad as it was. Should I remove the undergrowth that is going to inevitably become larf and allow that energy to go to the main colas?

Still need recommendations on a good flowering formula.

Day 11 12/12

Well other then a little burning from hitting my lights during an overnight stretch, they both look pretty good. The lower leaves are starting to look shitty. Even though Holy grail has those broad fan leafs, it stretched way more then the FH did. Hopefully see sex soon.

Successful topping on HG and FH was successfully fimmed.

I plan on doubling the light output.

I think FH is a male. What do you guys think?

Billy got assassinated last night. Just the Holy Grail remains! Would have been cool, but I am not currently breeding.

Day 14 12/12
She is a girl! Showed a few days ago. I had some really bad droopy-ness and noticed a slow down in growth that I could not find the cause of, but then I realized how root bound these got. It shocked me because my last cycle, they didn't even fill the pots in, but she was seriously rootbound. I moved her to a 3 gallon bucket at about 2/3 of the way filled up. Transplanting was easy, I guess due to fact that she was so rootbound. Wish I got a picture, but I was being careful and my hands were busy. This is post transplant.

When that happens I carefully tease out the bound up roots during the transplant, so they are spread out horizontally to the same width as the larger pot, then plant it up high as practical in the new pot, otherwise I find the roots don't really want to use the top half of the larger pot.

I am surprized it got so root bound in that pot, it looks pretty large in the photo.

Day 26 12/12

She stretched quite a bit, but things are starting to slow down vertically. She is approximately 28" and is looking great. The new fan leaves look more sativa despite those giant broad leaves that I had in veg. Supercropped both tops to control height. 42w of LED is extremely impressive. No added nutes, just FF w/Perlite and water the entire grow so far. Still would like to add a few more lights and everything would be ideal. Can the nutrients in your soil carry you all the way through flower? I know not normally, but I transplanted into fresh soil that had not been depleted yet. I would have to use like 200watts of CFL to get the same results.

Day 31 12/12

Stretch is about over, here are the top colas. She is about 3 feet tall.

The last two pictures are where she got supercropped on the main colas. Seeing some trichomes, smell hasn't really developed yet.

Day 44 12/12

So I just got back from Colorado and I had to leave her unattended but she did just fine. Other then one of my lights falling down and burnt like an inch of the top cola. I just decided to cut the burn't piece off and keep going. Everything is looking good. She was a little bit droopy when I got back but bounced back in a matter of minutes after getting water.

Suspect 10 weeks or so. I can smell some Blue Dream in the genetics, she is getting extremely sticky and smell is starting to pop up mildly.

she looks great. but I would add another light midway up the plant to help the lower buds grow bigger. I have had plants that tall before and doing that helped a lot.

:)
