from what i read he has total of 90 watts and yielded 119 grams for a total of gpw rating of 1.32... nevermind that is setup #10...

however on setup #9 i come up with a slightly different number than he did... 97 grams divided by 64 watts is 1.52 gpw...

really good numbers however, so i will add his grow to the table :tiphat:

Hey guys, nice thread.

Just gonna put a littel question in. I have heard that LED i less potent than HPS?? Is this true or just another hoax. They guy said , that it is because of the UVB.

i don't believe there is any truth to that. UVB will make more trichromes, but that does not necessarily equate to potency...


some people believe the lack of full spectrum light delays the readiness of the plants, so some add flouro's to compensate...

The buds from set-up 9 and 10 looked pretty bad, too much leaf to calyx and they look airy, I'd grow less plant but achieve a better end product instead.

I was just wondering a little, because LED technology is new, and I will like to use my money on the "right" lamp purchase. Currently I use a 200 watt CFL, but I want to switch to the DIY LED lamp as the guy from holland currently running trials with (Ledgroweu). I know that, not because a numbers of diagrams and numbers is the only sane truth, however it is important to involve all aspects and UVB are probably fo??r a reason or??? But I donsent have a dr. degree in light energy ;-) Are there any of you who have tried LED vs. HPS in and found out whether they are either equally potent or one or others is more or less potent? I have not given up with idea using LEDs yet, and I'am still into in it. Is it much better than HPS, not only when it comes to G/pr. watt, I mean Addict2grow and Mr. X have done some orsom work .

(sorry GP73LPC, I trie not to start at HPS vs. LED diss. but I thank it is important to back up on the truth and not only on the conviction.

Hey cool thread, I would just like to state I am back now and the link to my old led vs hid thread should be back up.

I may need to make the album public again so the images show up. I will get back to this thread when I feel like setting down and writing a detailed post.

you might check with SOTF420 and his SWT#4 grows. as well as some others in the chart. i'm not the expert here, others are much better informed on this subject than i... most of these guys are former HPS growers.

anyway, SOTF420 creates great seeds and great seeds with LEDs and flouros...

i don't think there is much difference in potency...

this thread clearly proves the viability of LEDs

that sounds very impressive, i wonder if he could maintain 1.94 gpw with something larger than 8 watts?

but now I reach only 1,05 gpw with this lamp, it's little space problem.
or I can run less diodes in this microcab and will reach better gpw :dance013:

I also grow under DIY LED panel. My panel use 282W of real power, including cooling fans ( 6 fans consuming almost 14W together).
