Lazyman's 16KW Headbanger

Hey lazyman great thread you got here!

Was wonderin if you could share a piece of advice with me
Do you think its OK to run 3ml/25gal of physan 20 4weeks into flower to take care of some brown algae in a ebb and flow system with hydroton?

If so, how far do you think you can go into flower before not using physan 20?

Thanks for the help!

Hey Lazy,

I saw you mentioned low income power discount on one of your threads. I've got the care package for my gas but not my power. Just got an insane power bill (over 4k!) and i'm kinda trippin' out.. any tips on paying power and getting a discount, while staying under the radar? I'm in residential, not commercial zoning. Also, do you think asking for a payment plan on such a large bill for a residential account would raise any eyebrows?

Gotta go wipe off some sweat.. it's gettin' hairy over here. Also, if you could offer any legal advice as to how you organize your patient association i would really appreciate it. I know your plant counts are way higher in your region, but any tips or experiential wisdom for someone just starting the legal thing..?

Thx buddy!

70KW @ 18hours @ $.08/KWh cost $3,024/month and $2,016 @ 12 hours.

Dude...what are you doing there paying over $4,000/month?

8 cents is what it is out here... but I'm pretty sure electricity in cali is 30+ cents per/kwh. And don't forget how much a 5 ton or two pull.

I have a house near Scottsdale/AZ.
It is 6,800 sq ft/2 stories and has 4 (four) 5 Ton AC's. The older couple renting the house has those 4 AC's trying to fight down the heat to 66F so the AC's keep running w/o a break during the day keeping the temperatures around 70f - 71F since they can't get it any lower while it's 110F+ outside.
Their electricity usage is included in the rent so I know what their power bill is: $800/month.

On a 4 bedroom, 2800 sq/ft house in Southern California, with a 2,000w flipflop and a 1000w veg + 1500w AC and then other random usage. My bill is $1300 a month but that also includes all the other power I and the other 3 people that live here use.

Ok - thanks for the info guys. I wasn't clear on my post; the bill was about $4500 for a two month period, which works out to about $2200/mo. Guess that's in the ballpark. I must have missed a few notices in the mail because i got their red letter 'final notice' and it has to be paid asap. I'm pulling 10kin lights but its on a flip-flop most of the time so i'd say average 7k for lights, plus two 25000btu a/c, plus all the vortex fans, plus energy for a large multi-bedroom home etc, it sounds about right.

My main concern is getting a 'final notice' letter with a due date of 8/3. I won't be able to pay the full amount, so i'm concerned about asking for a payment plan - i don't want anyone at dwp to investigate such a crazy residential power bill. It says my total usage for the two months is 27209kwh and my daily energy cost is $64.76. I'm also worried about mailing in their low income application form - does anyone think they would be more reluctant to give a discount to such a high energy user? They want all my money so i'm thinking they might look into it before granting me the discount.

Any experiences out there with dwp and low income, or late payments, or payment plans, on large residential power bills?

Thanks.

No experience with late payments..... but I did sign up for the CARE program for the entire 10 years i was in SoCal and you save something like 15% on the bill. Even if you don't qualify based on you tax return, you will still get the 15% off with a just a signature on that card. The power company is there to sell you electricity. You are one of their best customers with 2k a month usage. They will bend over backwards to keep you their customer. Call them up and set up a payment plan. They are game for that. For sure.

No problem Weednazi, welcome aboard!

Yeah no problems on CARE, sign up for the balanced payment program and see if that cuts your bills. pay them the one overdue month and they will get off your back for a few weeks. ;)

Thanks guys, it's always nice to hear from people who have been there! What's new Lazy, you've been absent lately.. let us know how things are going down there in your jungle.

p.s. check out my journal (https://www.icmag.com/modules/Journal/viewentry.php?journalid=731#comment6142), i responded to your questions over a week ago.. i'd love to continue the discussion on my nutrients and feed chart. I'm thinking of trying out h3ad's modified lucas formula on some of my plants to see how they stand up to my mixed organic regimen. It seems to be very simple, and his flowers look absolutely amazing! have you ever tried it..?

Can't wait to see what you've been brewing up in your lab, cmon post some pics mang!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on much, between the hydro expo Sunday, to Mondays outage, and yesterday we started trimming the grape stompers up, I've been buried! I've got 6 trays of clones at my house too, god help me if even 2/3 of them survive, lol.

The GS is looking good, purple and frosty, tons of foxtails so we have to hand trim about half of it (no Trim Reaper machine for foxtails!) Some FAT buds though, tons of em.

The veg room is pretty wild, I did a bunch of measurements with the light meter to find the brightest spots and best heights for the bare bulbs, and what a difference it makes! I put some of the smallest JP clones on the floor right next to the light, and they have caught up with their sisters in just one week! Now everything is very uniform, every cut is about 12" tall and growing faster every day.

Hey Skiz, yeah sorry man, I'll stop in there today and we'll catch up. More pix soon!

be careful with the balanced payment plan i tried that before it helped for a while but eventually when i tried to get off it they said i had to pay them all the money i had been saving on the plan so it turned around and bit me in the ass

Alright we're a 1/4 done with the chop, got two drying racks stuffed, good thing I have like 7 of them! I always pick off the ones that are the most done/purple first, then the ones that have bug issues. Going back tonight to make another dent in the remainder of the grape stompers, but man is that stuff funky! Will post some pics, taking the camera tonight.

lazy, i know you probably do, but do you use a trimmer? or do you have a team of Umpa Lumpas cutting everything down for you? haha, i trimmed 2 1/2 by myself and it literally took me like five days straight by hand.

Hehe yeah I use a Trim Reaper (from AN) and I love the damn thing, it's one of the best machines for the money. Works like a spin pro but is motorized and much larger, and the blades dont break! Unfortunately I can't use it on all of the grape stomper (too many foxtails) but all of the smaller buds and popcorn are PERFECT for trimming machines. I can dump in a QP of popcorn and have it trimmed in 3 minutes. Once everything is dried, I run the product through a 1/2" hardware mesh (wire fabric) so anything that drops through goes to my wife, everything that stays on top gets bagged up with a vacuum sealer. Only big nugs in my packages! :) My patients love it, no popcorn/trim in the sack and of course they're always a bit over weight.

For hand trimming, you should absolutely own a set of Testarossa (Bonsai Hero) electric scissors. I still use mine and they are amazing, lets me do the work of 3 trimmers myself they're so fast!
