Also, i used to monitor daily my ph/ppm's going in and out. I've stopped doing this recently because i have a much larger collection pan which gets dirty fast with several days of feed, but i do have the option to stick a cup under my drain area and collect a small sample after each watering. I did this recently for two days and my feed going in was below 400 but the runoff was over 750. When this occurs, should i flush for a few days until the numbers match more closely? In the past i would feed around 350-400ppm and get back 200-250ppm which made me feel more comfortable, but still not convinced that i was nailing the plants' dietary needs. Any suggestions on testing runoff for ppm's?

i joined this site after seeing your thread and wanted to suscribe. i wanted to watch this thing to the end. i think that in your thread, staggered and flip are being used synonymously. they are in fact quite different. if you quit the staggered, and truly flipped, i think your result would be much better. the investment would be small compared to the payoff. i really appreciate you sharing your craft with the rest of use. it raises the standards of grow room workmanship. thank you.

i am curious how you hid the outdoor crop?

Definitely interested in your recommendations for alternatives to H202 because that's just what I've used for my E&F setup with great success. My latest run I am trying out H&G roots excelerator, so is using h202 killing whatever is in the roots xl? I use h202 at 6ml/gal as of now but if 2 ml/gal works better that would b great and use less. I also have airstones in my res. thanks lazy!

After extensive research I found out that H&G Roots XL should also fully protect against harmful disease to the roots. Keep in mind i run ebb and flow tables. I have ceased the h202 and only have 6/9 micro bloom with the hg roots xl. Am I correct in my research that the roots xl should be sufficient for disesase control? I know that gunk forms eventually unless I used the h202 so I just want to make sure the roots xl is also good for controlling that.

6.5# off 8KW? Is that with the staggered lighting or did you ditch the staggered lighting already?

I pop in and check the updates now and then. Seems like you do a lot of work moving things around, plants, etc. Any plans to streamline it?

Yeah that was with regular lighting, but clearly not enough plants. I have doubled it since then, though it takes a month for the new batch to catch up, so the batch I'm chopping in a couple weeks (Grape stomper) is the last small crop (4 rows of plants) but the one behind that is 9 rows. Unfortunately the room can only hold 13 rows total, but thats 13 rows of large plants in large pots now, so things should be much much better soon.

The only real hard work days are once a month when everything in flower gets trimmed, and everything in veg gets transplanted and flipped, and we pull out the empty pots from flower. The trimming takes a few nights (hopefully a week pretty soon) and the transplant takes 1-2 days. Besides that the whole thing is on auto-pilot. The caretaker waters the babies and moms by hand, but flower is fully automated. Not bad for the size.

ahh not enough plants, been there before. I was just curious to know what was going on.

Sounds like you are getting caught up, would like to see what the results are on a full room.

I do know how much work those big ops take

Hey gang, sorry been just swamped lately. Yeah I'll get pics up soon, my bad!

Went over last night and took 1.5 trays of Jackpot clones, just cuz the moms are starting to go downhill and I want them gone. I left them in the flowering room, we'll see if they fly or not.

Tonight I've gotta go do the same to the 3 grape stomper moms, and transplant 75 babies from small pots to 2g smartpots. That will be my entire evening!

Lazy,

You mention doing foilars with snow storm and purple maxx well into flower, but why don't you put these in your res and feed with your mixes? Have you found better results with foilars as opposed to roots, and do you know anything about the molecular composition of those two products to back up your findings?

Thanks.

Simple economics, it's far cheaper to foliar with 2ml per gallon than it is to dump 100ml into 4 reservoirs, they even say on the bottle, "Foliar, much more economical"

I believe the Snowstorm Ultra is basically a PK booster, and purple maxx is folic acid if I recall correctly (been a while sinceI looked it up.) I can tell you that most folks who have grown my strains tell me mine is much frostier than theirs, so I continue to foliar with them.

Hey buddy, good to see you. Yeah, it's a good thing the watering is automated, everything else (cloning, transplanting, trimming, cleaning, adjusting nutes in reservoirs, foliar sprays) can't be, so I need all the time I can get!

All of my rooms are SUPER packed now! Last night we transplanted 75 girls from small pots into 2g pots of FFOF amended with Ancient Forest and EWC, so I had to add an extra row in veg of plants.

So the mom room is stuffed with 8 huge moms, I have 6 moms in veg too!
Veg room has about 120 girls in 2g pots, ranging from 3" to 18" tall. (The biggest 30 get transplanted and flipped in 2 weeks.)
Flower room is packed to the gills, I have 13 rows of plants (about 150 total) where I had designed it for 8! Also, everything in flower is in a 4-5g pot now, where before they were all 2's.

I just picked up some of CAP's 7g GroPots too, they're like tall/narrow smartpots but with heavy-duty side handles. Gonna transplant all my moms into these, I am noticing they are suffering and getting rootbound in hard plastic pots, I think this will remedy that issue.

Thrips are still active, I'm running Spinosad in each res, along with weekly foliar sprays. One plant i discovered yesterday was COATED with bugs, fortunately just on the fan leaves and a plant that's about to be harvested, but it still sucks!

Is there anything better/stronger than Spinosad for thrips?

Lazy,

Do you wash your leaves with r/o water in between your foilars? I've read (and started to myself) that it's a good idea to spray r/o water a day or two after you spray with a nutrient mix to wash off the excess nutes and clean out the stomata openings. It makes perfect sense to me, but what's your thoughts on this?

Hey Skiz, man you ask the best questions! Seriously, every time I see a post from you it's pertaining to some minutae that most advanced growers haven't thought of! Good eye for details there.

So that said, I have read that myself, and though it sounds good in theory, I have an aversion to spraying plants with any more moisture than necessary, especially in flower. I have a couple strains that are PM-prone, so I try not to poke that sleeping bear too much.

It's also trickier to do foliar sprays with barebulbs, it's very easy to overspray and get the bulb casing inadvertently. That, and I have soo many plants to spray, it takes a lot of time to do a thorough foliar.

If you have a smaller scale op I and have the time, it certainly can't hurt, but I haven't had any negative repercussions from not doing so myself.

I'm honored! I wish it was because I had the yields to back it up too, but much like I like my cars, my grow room should exceed MY capabilities!

Yeah I quit the staggered lighting, and though I COULD flip the room, I don't want the hassle of the lighting schedule and such. Much more convenient for me to have one big room and harvest half of it every month.

The outdoor crop, I made round cages out of wire cage material, and covered it with shadecloth on the top and sides. Works a peach, and the plants still get water and sunlight inside. Just be sure to anchor them down with stakes or the wind will blow them over, with your plants inside!

Thrip Predators - 25,000 Count
Cucumeris is the preferred predator for thrips control. Cucumeris feeds on young thrips larvae. It is important to introduce Cucumeris before thrips have reached damaging levels.
25,000 Thrip Predators $37.85

Or there is the Stinging nettle works GREAT!!.. Oils works .. As you can see you have to get it before it reaches and gets out of control.. lol not easy ..If you had a seal you could always do an raise your Co2 levels and kill everything lol peace out bro good luck Headband707
