Awesome L.M. you got it going on my man. I was looking at your rez’s/ overflow-drain bucket and going wtf! :D Then went over the pics a few more times and the light went on. Friggin awesome!!!! I am now seeing the “lazyman” tag to mean something along the lines of “super efficient on my game man” but lazyman is a little catchier. :biglaugh:

Oh and one more thing, what are you gonna do come flush time? Are you gonna hand water or run thru the blumats? Guess you could dial in the blumats for a little extra so you have some runoff...

Haha yep, efficiency is one of my favorite hobbies. Why spend hours doing something every day that can be set up once in 3 hours and never need touching?

For watering, picture the room like this:

RES____shutoff__3/4"line-Blumat-Blumat etc___shutoff__tee to drain.

The overflow lines all tee together at the res, then one line runs from the end of it to the drain bucket. Just to prevent floods.

To flush, I just open the last drain valve, which dumps the res into the drain bucket which pumps outside. When the res is empty close the valve and the res refills automagically.

Then to the plain RO I'll PH it, add AN Final Phase, and let em drip as usual. I have lots of extra 800gph pumps I can use to handwater in a flush if needed, but I'll probably skip it unless there's a problem.

If I wanted I could plumb a sprinkler valve in the end instead, and program the sprinkler timer to open each valve in succession for 30 minutes so each res drains weekly and refills. Piece of cake! Just takes about $200 and a couple hours and barbed hose adapters.

ALright, my Eagle20 came today, application rate is .3ml per gallon! This bottle oughtta last me hmmm, forever? Went and sprayed all but the flowering PMNs, which are getting fatter by the day. Will take my weekly pix tomorrow.

Also ordered a flush kit and automatic shutoff valve for the merlin RO, as well as some black 3/8 and 1/2" tubing. Good stuff! My clear tubing is growing algae after just 4 weeks, lol.

Thanks Philthy, I knew going in I had every inch of the space, and I wanted it FULL. Thank god it had the 700A service panel outside, that's what really made this feasible.

Yeah it will be about 2k a month, but hey that just means that even with power and rent it only costs about a pound a month to cover those two aspects. The soil, oasis slabs, nutes and chemicals, and my labor aren't included in those costs, but I do everything I can to minimize ongoing expenses.

Machine? or O.C.D? thats the joke around here. "Can't find Daddy, go to the Garden", there he is!. when its 16kw your running and paying your bills with, i guess you can call it whatever. Since I am limited by the space of this rental each of my plants gets extra attention (which i guess is good) and it makes me look freakin crazy to the few who see me work. "daddy, your silly, plants don't have ears" "why do you fed the plants poop?" etc.... yes some of my biggest fans don't even smoke, just like to play in the dirt.

I feel ya on the "set it up right the first time" frame of mind. I hate reworking the flow to one of my shows, but i guess that is just how its going to be until I get to where i wanna go. Where do I wanna go you may ask. Well 16kw and a basement/room full of possibilities would be a good place.

Keep showing and I'll keep growing ... Thanks for the lessons in laziness.

Hehe, well I don't mind putting in the work up front if it means I get to sit on my ass later. I haven't been to the grow in a couple days, but an onsite caretaker checks on it 1-2 times a day to make sure nothing's out of hand. Lazyness for the win! ;)

set it and forget it! all about it, my issue is soil is my preferred medium so as part as that goes i am currently kept busy. I am researching some other ideas, but feel i would still be too worried to ever actually leave it and 2nd parties involvement is never happening. i man not that guy; too many bad humans in my past.

Yep, I'm in soil too. Automate the watering/feeding and you're saving hours and hours each week.

Pix comin tonight, stay tuned!

Ok here we go:

Flower room:

Jackpots at 1 week flower:

Double purple (GDPX Purple Urkle) at 1 week flower

Purple Mr Nice at 5 weeks, already showing amber trichomes, I'm frankly shocked, this strain could be harvested today and is plenty ripe. I wish I knew exactly what I could attribute it to! I think I'll give it another week, still seeing new white hairs being formed.

60 Grape stompers vegging:

And the 2 new Jackpot moms at 5 weeks veg:

The ones in flower have already stretched a good 8 inches, I may have to top them if they get too tall.

Drew up plans to add another 4 lights, I think I'm gonna split the center lights 2 feet out on both sides and jam a third row in there. Will do so after the chiller/exchanger (June) and CO2 (July.)

I want to do ten lights a month and shoot for 15-20 per month.
Veg will have to be upgraded too, thinking 4 1KW MH bare bulbs, staggered so pairs flip on and off. I'll build some shelves for veg so I can veg 2 rows of plants this way, I figure 35 plants on each edge of the room in rows, around 70 total. I'm also going to move 2-3 of the T'5's into my little trimming room to make it into a mother room at that time. So that's what, 26000 watts of light total? Gonna need a bunch more blumats and another res too.

Definitely gonna have to learn whether I need a 4 or 5 ton chiller for this gig with all that light. I'm betting a 5 would be the safer choice though. And I guess that means another 55g res for the chiller and a pair of big pumps.
