Hey mate ,
hope this weather system is kind to you,
the other option was it came to my house , haha
we are getting weather like we rarely see with that system sucking all the shit into it ...

the fade might just be genetic , the laos mum dropped her leaf and went a nice golden towards the end of her flower , i doubt it needs more than the others , maybe a light foliar , but at this stage i wouldnt wanna feed anything too rich in N , im sure your onto it , just keep an eye on any signs of deficiency i guess ,
and good luck man ,, strap those girls down and cross your fingers , we are thinking of yas ...

She's one of the best smells in the garden - strong tropical fruit nose.

Exciting times here atm.. I grew up in Cairns so cyclones are a familiar thing but never expected to see one make a beeline for Brisbane.
Haha yeah, it's probably time for us to cop a bit - kinda fun hunkering down and waiting for the show
Feel for folks in flood prone areas though, would be stressful right now.

Update:
Wild weather on the way. Category 2 cyclone going to make landfall over the next two days and kick up some wild winds and heavy rain. Perfectly bad timing and things starting to thicken up in the garden..

But getting some premature fade, which is suggesting she needs something.. I'm thinking either her water requirements are higher than the rest of the garden or maybe she's just really hungry..?
I've tried to mitigate for both possibilities. Will see how things go

It has been dry here (until the coming cyclone) and she is drip watered, organic
None of the other girls in the garden are looking like this and they have a lot more plant
matter.
Maybe her tropical/laos genetics are used to having wetter feet?

She has a delicious tropical/mango fruit smell...

yea for many it will be scary ,
especially if they listen to the news and radio a lot ,
i understand folks need to be prepared etc ,
but gee they do a lot of overkill on the news ...

you would know one of the sayings up here was with all the new comers ,
a cyclone or two will have them scurrying back home with their tail between their legs , hahaha ..

cant go wrong with fruity tropical aromas , they tend to deliver the goods i find ....

I'm in the path of the same cyclone mate. No outdoor plants though. Not looking good at this stage, hopefully your plants get through in good shape.

A few flower photos for this update.

Cyclone has been and gone. No major issues. I did take down several plants before the heavy wind and rain as they were top heavy with dense flower and likely to mould. It sucks cutting early but sometimes you gotta take precautions.

A lot of healthy girls should get a good finish though, Laos M/Z99 included.

This is Gadriel from Heavy Dayze. One of her parents is 'Azazel' (always be flowering) which features a Vietnam Black x Thai parent from ACE.
She makes my mouth water..

glad u managed to get through that storm relatively unscathed mate,
fingers crossed the rest of the journey is hassle free ,

i can definitely see z99 in those flowers ,, the short thick pistils are typical of her flowers , they look great mate ...

Great news mate, I was wondering how you faired. One advantage of your side walls. Most of mine would look at home in Pisa.
Only my two Laos and a Malawi are still perfectly straight.

Hey mate, yeah, they get a good amount of protection from the side walls. I'm not sure that Alfred really pushed up the average wind speeds where these girls are living (hence the side walls haha)

Good to hear your equatorials are holding firm.

Sorry, my description was a bit convoluted. The ACE line came via Heavy Dayze. He combined his RMQ with an 'Azazel'. Azazel was made by 'Always be Flowering' and contains the Thai x Vietnam Black from ACE (crossed with some faster flowering varieties). Not sure that Always be Flowering ships to Aus but they have a website.

Belated update..

The garden is choc full of flowers atm. A bit too much to manage really.

Some losses due to mold. A couple of plants heavily affected - Kyphi and one of the Chem 91 cross Urkle.

Not a spot of mold on the Laos lady. I’m thinking she’s got a couple more weeks to go. She has one of the best aromas of the garden. Lovely sweet fruit smell. Pineapple maybe.. I wonder about the C99 influence..

What do you think @Donald Mallard? She’s a mix of cloudy and clear at the moment leading towards cloudy.

Another standout this season- Pitanga from Heavy Dayze. Big, dense buds great smells, frosty and good mold resistance.

PS looking nice, yeah moulds a bummer. Watch the weather, could go minor flood by weekend. Three surges of ocean winds intersecting out near Isa and heading E SE. Winds are coming from Great Southern Ocean, South Pacific and China Sea. It’s a classic set up for a Landphoon

if it was me , id want to leave it a month for further assessment then ...

she will do ok im sure ,
the laos should be tough enough to handle some rain ,

yea your right she could benefit from support ,
the buds can get larger when they are not having to expend energy holding themselves up ...
