Lady Gaga: "I Smoke a Lot of Pot"

Jon Lydon aka johnnie rotten hes more a creative virtuoso than a sheer talent. He allways seemed to have a finger on the pulse of pop culture. He went over the top in his antic's imo as a premeditated endevor where as Lady Gaga is just kinda a freak (in a good way).
Any way Pil (public image ltd) jon lydon's current band has some very cool tunes but is way more comercialy acceptable than the sex pistols the "album " cd is one that will allways have a spot in my rotation

all they did was swear a bit and say fuck the queen,,

i agree they had no talent,,,, but what they said, were guided to say, made some people question the "fascist regime"

lg is pro the regime imo,, and has sold her soul so cant bow much lower,,

they were alot more than that they were the poster children for rebellion and disinfranchised youth.they shaped a whole genra of music that is still copied today. the message they sent was a timeless one one that I dare say you yourself believe in.

I say your post has no talent. All you post here is subjective opinion. When you're contributing nothing but negative bullshit, take a powder. Otherwise you're trolling the thread. Get creative, say why you're a better judge of talent and originality than the masses. On second thought, don't. (Se how boring you are?)

lg is pro the regime imo,, and has sold her soul so cant bow much lower,,
Did you see The DaVinci Code? Tom Hanks plays an expert on pagan symbols and imagery. He suggests that contemporaries who associate these pagan symbols with evil are simple minded and don't know
history.:D

Wait, let me guess... you think that sucks too. Apply "sucks" to flogging your subjective opinion like a dead horse.

No need for people to get worked up, but she's just a pop star and nothing more. Like others have said it's good she's open about smoking pot. Herb is becoming the norm more and more these days it seems...

"Last night before the Grammy awards, 60 Minutes had an in-depth interview with Lady Gaga, where she explained her approach towards achieving – and keeping – fame.
During the interview, Gaga admitted to Anderson Cooper that her actions on stage and very unique wardrobe are well thought-out decisions. These decisions are designed to keep media attention on her career and building a “Lady Gaga” brand that people are curious about. Additionally, pushing the envelope during her performances and through her wardrobe captivates so much media attention, that there is no time left for the media to focus on and pick apart her personal life.
If you watch the entire interview (below) you’ll realize how well planned every Gaga decision is. Her clothes – such as her meat dress – isn’t a spur of the moment crazy decision. It’s part of the plan to keep her relevant for a very long time. The interview also shows what her life was like before she was famous, and it becomes very apparent that Gaga learned a tremendous amount from her climb to the top, which is now what’s keeping her there."

Talented? Yeah of course she is. But talent doesn't necessarily make good art. That being said "good" is subjective, I guess.

The most technically talented musician I know is one of my friend's fathers. He makes boatloads of dough writing jingles for commercials. Lady gaga is about marketing and making money:
http://www.forbes.com/2009/11/25/lady-gaga-music-business-entertainment-marketing.html

"In an interview last winter, Lady Gaga recalled her anguish at being ignored as she performed at a bar filled with drunken NYU students. No one paid the slightest attention to her until, fed up, she decided to strip down to her lingerie. "I started playing in my underwear at the piano and I remember everyone was all of a sudden like 'Whoa!' And I said, 'Yeah, you're looking at me now, huh?' "
^that about sums her career up, imo

And that's about the most thought I've given about lady gaga ever...

Talk amongst yourselves

Reminds me of a chap that had a nice voice but went unnoticed... Boy George. Dressing like a chick seemed to add a bit to his bottom line.

^Great example

At least she's honest about the marketing and all that.... It is what it is, lord knows she's getting paid out the ass so I doubt she cares at all.

I don't like the music, but hey if it makes some people happy then that's a good thing.

Beat those kids if they go Gaga & turn into fashion faggs ...lol...and he's right off the street too .

that pot has become more & more the norm is born out by most recent stats
that show cannabis is now rivaled & equalled alcohol now as first choice among
the youth for partying. Its pretty benign compared to alchol & other things ...

Is this good or bad ?

Well given the epidemic of the phenom known as "huffing" in areas where kids can't get pot or meth... let the authorities make their "informed" decision. They'd love to think they can control it all but we all have seen just how effective 40yrs of the war on drugs has played out .

(Hopefully she'll toke up on HBO special coming up )

really, any shreds of credibility you may have had left in this discussion have been consumed in this monumentally off target assertion.

NMTB was one of the most influential albums of all time - offhand i can only think of Bob Marley's Exodus that is anywhere near that in importance.
imo Punk was the second to last truly new youth movement that has occured, the last being the Rave scene/ acid house.

The Pistols got my money x 4. I bought NMTB on 8-track, cassette, LP and CD. I recon I'll buy it again when the next record format materializes.

Cheap holidays and other people's miseries... :headbange

Although the delivery may be a bit crass, and not as politically correct as some folk's fragile sensitivities might demand, I find Xiggi pretty much spot on.

At least Ziggy could play fuckin guitar

so you think it's cool to beat your kids with a bat for forming their own decisions?
And Bowie is pretty sub par on the guitar.he can strum a few chords but thats it.
