Kona Gold ...for the record

Kona Gold,
purely for posterity, i have no financial interests whatsoever,
vintage strain, brought east and grown in zone 7 in 02 and 03 by a good old boy/hippie family friend, no bullshit, all medicinal. Used to treat final-stage MS in his late-wife, God rest her soul.

Here is a lucky cross found as a solitary seed in a sensi batch, only male in vicinity was a hermie super jack (jack h x jack h -vintage sensi seeds) so this or hermaphro in mother are only 2 possibilities, the latter being highly unprobable as the standard kona beans are much different, this is a definite hybrid, more indica than 90+ day satty. (excuse the sidewaysness lol)

Taste is AMAZING BLISS! truely connesieur chronic friends, smells of fine booze (scnapps kinda actually) very liquory with such a pungent tropical fruit skunkiness that makes you nausiated being around it too long. Smell carries onto the pallete with added hashiness

also found when more leaf was left on the nugs (horribly manicured in the first place by this dude) , the taste was much stronger (if thats possible!) not harsher as usual but fruitier kinda. A definite creeper and a soaring/uplifting yet graduated? stone. Not a Coucher. See ya in a couple months folks! Thanks for bein here! Love ya all!

God Bless America.

try some other time
frosty shots to post of this insane heirloom legend.
best place to clone a topped plant for guaranteed success? need to preserve the konajack no doubt, its a gem 100% and don't need more than the pink pistils to prove it!!pink fucking pistils!!

Thanks everyone! Thanks for stoppin' by! if upload starts to work over here yous'll have a nice strainguide addition mr. Smokey!. These buds are not grown by me, he used municipal compost and they are greenhouse grown in northern lattitude. They were trimmed old school style (mad leaf), and compressed for storage in a food saver jar for 2 years, THEN pics were taken so i reckon they were super sexy before the mauling! at 2 years cure, lol, the flavor filled a room, i can only imagine what the freshies will be like!!!

Sacko,
Will post a pic of the "Kojack" (Kona Gold Fem. X SuperJack[JackHererxJackHerer] Old man) shown above, TOPPED as of today.. 4 tops 1 offshoot under canopy at where the center cut was, a Beastly bitch.

Zepp,
Thanks brother, again, these are 2 yr old compressed nugs, the possibilities are endless with this strain, absolutely unique genetic traits in regards to taste, smell... a real winner, no males this year so unless i get the "BC Bud" or "NL" pollen from the same dude i got the kona, things are looking shitty for preserving the line in seed this season. ;-) let ya know how it turns out ;-) still got 12 beans of pure kona... wanted to stay inbred but the flower time is absolutely herendous.

Also have a stinky Sensi OD Mix topped, 2 Mini Kona girls (space issues), and 2 mutant NL satty gals, both au natural but mutated growth patterns.. 8 bladed leaves, 12 bladed, these mutations recovered with time for the most part but the growth pattern (extreme tight node spacing, sick branching, needs constant haircuts) remains on 1, the NL's are touchy and unforgiving OD plants IMO. Sensi OD Mix being the most acclimated to these conditions, mold proof, bug proof (once they try it they never go back for seconds, i have hand picked caterpillars and no damage apparent ever) and a super scrog plant, virtually every branch shot up to become a top in a great rectangular fashion!

Keep an eye out!

in chat you mentioned color.

Aside from the neptunes 2-4-1 + LiquidKarma & B52 they've been getting a boost--
the dark green foliage is courtesy of a monthly top dressing of fresh espresso grounds for organic nitrogen (can be found at starbucks, call ahead tell them youd like grounds for your flower beds, its a very popular thing amongst legit gardeners) no burn, long lasting, and fast acting.... oh yeah FREE TOO! Can't wait to taste the end result too! seems to keep bugs at bay at the soil level and attracts earthworms. some in the soil mix too.

container soil mix- fills (15+) 7 gal containers

promix- 3 bales compressed

liteweight horse shit and straw compost, clean, brown?, airy and fluffy, not thick and black like cow poo, no bugs- 3 large bags

castings- 30lbs

grinds- half gallon-gallon

kelp meal- few cups

greensand- 2 cups

hydrated lime- dusted over pile

think thats it but i could be sober. hmmmm *bong*

yeah thats it, see yous guys later, thanks again shopvac, smokey, sacko, and Zepplindood for chimin in, it's inspiring to hear feedback from others.

edit.. now that im stoned i remember what i forgot to list...
PERLITE! Standard HD perlite, bot 6 bags mixed into above soil, added about a 3/4cufoot med. vermiculite as well (i prefer more verm but ran out, feelin the effects now in these dry months grrr)

Hey Capt. thats a nice tip about the coffee grounds. Will Duckin Dounuts grounds work or does it have to come from Starbucks? (no Starbucks around here). Nice to see you here and I hope you enjoy IC Mag forums.

yes and no...

yes and no...

hey schmokey!

It's a pleasure to finally meet ya! long time fan!
anywho..

Double D ey?
well if theyll give em up i dont see y not! They probably have never heard such a request but try anyway!
Starbucks has a campaign, something like "grinds for gardens" or something and all stores MUST participate unless privately owned (Airports etc)

They save the days worth if you call ahead, its their job! lol
We use fresh grounds from our office espresso machine, you can sprinkle at base of each plant as they come if drinkin coffeee at the OP, otherwise try dunkin or even save them like us, every day put them in a large jar and keep cool and dark. . once the mold forms theyll be nasty (shelf life of fresh grinds=week) but good for the plant. The trichodermia mold will form a symbiotic relationship withthe plants roots providing water and nutes. Just like AN pirahna? but only 1 strain of mold, not 18 or whatever.
If staying Strict organic, I'd consider starbucks to those who have one nearby due to their coffee being organic (i think) and their socially liberal, earth friendly background.
chk your pms Smokey Da P

i drink esspresso like its goin out of style, so if i can use the grounds as some added N to my plants, well hot daym!
how much do you use?

i use a thin layer sprinkled by hand on the soils surface
let your grounds air out for a day or 2 before doing this and use caution on indoor plants, i use as an outdoor topdressing, re-apply when its all melted away (a few weeks od)

non burning nitro early on, controls stretch in early flower, lasts, and has potential to turn your buds into chunks of coffee goodness! well, in my dreams anyway, hopefully it'll get some flavor, just started using the stuff on cannabis but does wonders everywhere else in the garden.

at the very least compost them.

hope this helps, lmk if there's any other q's on grounds i'll try to answer to the best of my ability

CaptainJack, your plants and buds are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with us here in West Texas EPT XIII. I grow Oaxacan Landrace myself, but my little sativas aren't as pretty as your genetics.

Peace and sweet tasty nugs CaptainJack.
