Nope....it was enough for them to start surveillance and after a month they weren't seeing anything abnormal so they got my power bill and it showed my bill was 3 times higher than neighbors around the area in the same size house so the judge signed the warrant.

They cant just get your electric bill from the power company to obtain a warrant, that is invasion of privacy. They have to have the warrant to get the electric bill info. They take advantage of the electric company employee that has no interest in protecting your right and hassling the cops. They just hand it over with out your permission that is illegal and you should sue the power company and the police for wasting your time. There investigation and findings were all illegal and if you have a good lawyer he will have your case thrown out based on a bad warrant. If you lose APPEAL every time.

In the meanwhile have the lawyer delay the case until the D.A. has to throw it out for a bigger case. Your case is only worth so much resources for them. After a while they can not justify prosecuting you. Your grow was tiny. It is just a money battle. Pay the enough to the lawyer, win the money battle, and stay out of prison.

DON NOT TAKE A PLEA DEAL. THIS IS A TRICK TO GET YOU TO CONFESS. If the cops had enough to convict you and had a solid case based of legally obtained evidence than they would convict you with out ever even talking to you. Make a plea to them under your terms. tell them you will pay a 100 dollar parking fine, and that is the deal, other wise take you to trial.

RETAIN YOUR RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT. Do not offer any defense to the cops themselves. they will just use the time before court to think of lies to discredit your defense. make your defense an ambush at the trial that they have no preparation for.

From what i gathered They subpoenaed the power company in which I believe a judge has to sign off on. Apparently my landlords phone call was enough of an idea as I was definitely not living beyond my means.
