In 1990 a friend showed up with the worst weed I'd ever seen.It was black, musty and seedy. This was in Durango CO and after smoking it out of august desperation, I was suddenly stoned beyond comprehension for hours and hours.I woke up with a smashing headache.Needless to say I grbbed all the seeds grew them out and they turned out to be full lemony, orangy/ pineapple citrus with what a typical hash plant smoker like myself would call a light psychadelic high.Nice, nice weed so I crossed it with my 42 day Seed Bank hash plant and whammo. Then backcrossed the best f-1's, males(tested the darn shoots)to the 42 day hash plant and then triple whammo.Uber success.Any way after a couple of coerced moves my cuts and seeds were lost and I ended up on overgrow trying to start over.Never underestimate that bagseed, especially the black moldy stuff.I mentioned the location due to its proximity to the tourquoise trail wich starts deep in South America and ends somewhere near Chama, New Mexico.Sorry for the long story but anyone who has grown a long time and doesn't simply aquire cuts from buddies, i.e. does his own work, knows the deep losses and soaring sucesses of the azad, yet of course no man is an island.Thank you, Mel Frank.PEACE!!!!MUCHA LUCHA!!! :joint:

uh some of my favorites from back in the day? highland oaxaca gold. I get pm's about it all the time. apparently alot of other people miss that badly mishandled crap that created blueberry and a ton of other stuff.

why do you think gypsy and everyone else is expanding in sativas? where do you think they come from? thats what they look like when you get them. Breeders are desperate for breeding stock and while you may cringe at the sight of it many including myself are always very happy to see export from countries that have little access to our bland dutch hybrid stock. regardless of what so called cannaseurs may think of the aesthetic look on arrival. any true cannaseur is very interested in other countries varieties IMHO.

as mucha lucha said and happens till this day. About a year ago a woman I know gave me a twenty sack of mexi brick. when you pinched it there was a nice floral smell but otherwise just normal looking bricked green mexi about a month old. I also had nycd, a chem knockoff, bubblegum, deep chunk, some random humboldt nugs, and some other crap I can't remember.

Everyone that was toking with me wanted to bong rips the brick. the only other thing that had as cool of a high was the deep chunk is pretty trippy. the bubblegum and cali weed was mellow, the diesels fam was stony, but the brick was trippy as all hell with gigglefits and visual distortion. its what people remember and miss from when they were kids.

You might not be one of them but there are ALOT of growers that quit growing most of these seed banks except RM, ace, and cannaBio. and started popping good mexi brick bagseeds and getting people from colombia and other private collectors for seeds.

Take my RUST for instance. it's only a year old or so and its one of the biggest threads on IC. There are alot of growers out there that would throw their bag of hashplant back for a bag of colombian gold they had as a kid.

Absolutely. The typical hybrids are bland compared to landraces. I have acces to thai like in the picture in a local coffeeshop. Only problem is I think it's been sprayed with pesticides or something cause it's smells weird and makes me cough and gives me a headache :bashhead:

the taste can be destroyed pretty easy too. all it matters to me is if it is good weed. and if I can regrow the seeds. then I worry about smell and taste

I have to agree Motaco - the Thai and the African I've been smoking recently are top-notch, and they're both compressed - but the seeds are all intact, so not that much. And the high is sublime and very up - I suspect it would be hard to improve upon other than smoking it before it's exported.

I've spent the last year trying to convince friends that smoking sativas might change their outlook on life, and growers too, though that's difficult when cash is always the motivator. As long as the imports are good, I'm happy to smoke them, and even happier to get good, viable seeds - great swap potential as well as for growing!

That's not an invitation for the whole world to PM me, BTW...:)

well the seedlings growing fast so,im more excited about this strain than my others and it only bagseed compared to my nycd, bluberry, chronic grows.if its a 16 week flower ill be f**ked off big time.

i'm far from an indica man myself...my favorites are an extremely hazey SAGE pheno, SD IBL pheno, and am currently working with old Kali mist seeds as well.
some of my favorite smoke came from mexi "mids" and i have a clutch of these clear-trip/LSD like colombian's that i want to look into as well
Ever try mother's finest or the other "newer" dutch haze hybrids on the market now-laughing buddah? i would like to save myslef the trouble of the breeding work if these new dutch hybrids can capture that "electrifying high"
peas...

only really got chance to smoke indica around her,so aint had the pleasure of sativa highs.even my grows have been indicas too i think.D.P.s original blueberry is supposed to be mainly indica but it grew like a huge sativa.
somas nycdxg13 cross is sativa i believe so i will have to see how that tastes...

Hello everyone. As a transplant from equatorial Asia, I am quite distressed and saddened by all the haters in this thread. The quantity of weed you guys grow in your cabinets would get you hung from the gallows in much of subtropical Asia, hence the economic pressure on traffickers to ship bud in compressed form.

Yes the bud is seeded - but our landrace equatorial strains are typically hermaphrodite - it is a mechanism to cope with the indeterminate nature of growing 12/12 365days a year.

Yes the bud is compressed, contaminated, and harvested at once regardless of the ripeness of the bud - but that is true of all intensive-farming products, including the produce in your supermarket.

Yes there is some mold, but you don't expect someone facing the death penalty for trafficking $100/pound weed to put them in Bell branded glass jars and burb them daily, do you?

That said, I will concede that my homeland weed is full of vegetative matter. The leaf-to-calyx ratio is poor, the buds are ugly, and if you were to grow it out would flower for forever...

But tell me you can get that kind of shimmering visuals and hallucinatory hearing and psychedelic experience from your 14-week Haze hybrids? I think not! Please, ladies and gentleman, consider in evolutionary terms, the characteristics a cannabis plant would posses in order to deter ground animals from eating it, if it had the luxury of all the time in the world to mature (finish flowering)?

(Note for background: this climate has 12/12 lighting all year round. There is no concept of seasons at the equator)

Some day I will win a grant from the Asian Development Bank, and return to Asia to build closed loop solvent extraction rigs, and then they will be exporting their

Thai is pure sativa, an original landrace sativa.
I have a pack of Gypsy Nirvana's Thai Stick Sativas, I'm going to pop them later this year, see if I can get some 'weed that gives you visuals'...

you're right 215z, can't judge weed by its looks. The only sativas to give me visual distortions had ugly, stringy, straggly buds and a bitter taste.
