@dubi is there anything else in the killer malawi genetics besides selections of malwai? Is the killer malawi a selected line of shorted flowering malwai x malawi parents?

Old Killer Malawi mother is the late 90s pure Malawi clone as we receive it. New Malawi Killer mother is selected, inbred Malawi genetics from same line, and grand daughter of the Old Killer Malawi.

My ka5h are coming along great. The one in the above post with crispy edged leaves has exploded in growth, second and third picture below. Other two are her sister different views. That one seems more squat and has not exploded. Not a bad plant but just not stretching yet. Not seeing any pistils yet but in no rush. So far temps are ok. I wouldn’t be doing indoor summer with my Hps.

Such vigorous and healthy bushes almost of the size of outdoor plants @blondie :giggle:
Happy to see that one surpassed the feeding problem, new growth looks healthy and exuberant.
They are for sure ready to flower

Last night 83 and humidity at 58% in the tent. I could smell something, a hint of mold? The air was wet at least. The KA5H are loving their environment. The one smaller plant finally shot up a main cola as tall as her sister. I keep having to lift the light.. Very excited about this grow. Tent lights and soil all seem to be dialed in finally.

The one plant here in the corner has grown uniformly. No main dominating cola, but many very strong colas, somewhat uniform in size. This can be seen in a few pictures below. The other plant is retaining the one central dominating cola and side branches are clearly shorter. Other than this the two plants are similar. Look to be the similar pheno at this point whatever that may be. The corner gal does seem to be flowering and growing a touch quicker though.

Ok, but what about in a closet in their original packaging inside something, is there a chance that a few months would be okay for short term if the room is somewhat cool, not hot or warm, without many temp changes?
For the short term yes, but for long term storage, it's got to be a fridge.
I recently germinated 3 seeds successfully from 2005!

Congrats on your Killer A5 Haze harvest @Llano_oasis :) Great looking sativa dom pheno, dense resinous flowers of great flower/leaf ratio. How was her terpene profile during flowering ?
Glad you are excited about her! ;)
She's smoking great! Terpene profile hS stayed pretty steady through flower and cure. First note is sweet like condensed milk followed by a piney sandalwood back end. Taste great definitely get the early pine type taste and the smoke has that sandalwood incense smell that is so pleasant. Definitely powerful the high does set in immediately but it is followed by another creeping high that really sets in 10-15 mins later and leaves you blown away.

Incredibly sticky buds

Thanks for the smoke report @Llano_oasis much appreciated!
Sounds great and in line with what a good Killer A5 Haze should be

My KA5H post mortem-she took a couple weeks to get down and I did not weigh out most of it but I’m guessing we’ll over 2000grams all said and done. The rats and lack of support did a number on her back branches, and they eventually chewed enough for gravity to take over and a stalk broke off. Amazingly many of the branches re-rooted but the buds were smaller and most leaves had yellowed a few weeks before harvest. If I had more time mid-summer she would have been in better shape. She finished at 9 feet tall and nearly 13 feet at her widest.

After a six month cure her smoke was outstanding; a bit of a bluish tint to it. The effect is quick and physically it’s felt around the eyes, kind of a bulging sensation that’s lasts about 20 minutes. It’s definitely a headache reducer. From observing it’s consumption. it tends to make a less than daily smoker ‘dumb’ and a I also heard a couple comments about going ‘sideways’. Personally, I prefer the Malawi over the KA5H, both in taste and affect. With respect to the grow, I’ve only had a Humboldt Seed Org Blue Dream that was larger.

Ka5h are coming along. The upper leaves look a bit weird to me though. These plants are still stretching. It’s slowed some but I keep lifting the light. Definitely didn’t have enough nutes for these hungry ladies. Different than the other one I grew.

Pleased to know you got such a high yield and potent effect from your outdoor Killer A5 Haze @KenDugE ;)
I also prefer straight Malawi most of the times for effects, although i love A5 Haze meaty, leathery and incensey terpene profile.

Glad to see your 2 KA5H already in early flowering @blondie :) If the slight curling of the leaves only happens at the top and not in lower parts of the plant, then it's probably something related with being too close to the lights, else check ph to ensure plants are in the correct range, and adjust ec levels based each on individual if they are requesting different nutrient needs.
