my next LED run i think i am gonna rock an ebb and flow with the mats underneath. should do work in my 2x4 with the right strains(ak/pot of gold)

I'm growing OG from seed, with two Purple Kush as well.. wondering when I should start with my Sensi, they're in Rockwool and they've been sprouted for a week now. Any ideas?
Any input would be greatly appreciated and someone let me know if i'm taking over this thread, thanks a lot!

Maybe try using 8 - 10" of Hydroton under your blocks, giving space for the root to grow down further and breath more. Might help with dank bulk.

Never grow a lot in blocks to say either way regarding your root mass question, but they do have 8x8 blocks now..called Big Mammas or something like that. I imagine they are more costly though. I know a few hugo growers and they don't seem to have any problem with root mass. They run 16 blocks per 1k light..with the thinner of the available coco mats (4x8).
Blocks are convenient as all get out. I originally thought you were flooding these and was wondering how you were getting away with full strength ~2.0 without eventual accumulation.. I now see you've got some lines under those caps.
Are you flushing these occasionally or shooting for a certain amount of run-off to prevent accumulation in the blocks? I think I saw you say you're not running dripclean.
I've always stuck to hydroton on my tables because I was always wearing of the blocks hanging onto nutes. They'd run me a bit more in my horizontal spots, but the cleaniless and convenience of them as well as the ability to run a smaller res outside of my grow space makes me want to make the switch.
What is your harvest day like? Just stack the blocks up and let em dry out before pitching them in the trash. Roll/cut the mat up and toss it each round?

Really loving the Ebb & Flow system you had set up.
How do you use net pots if you're using Hugo blocks? what's under your Hugo blocks keeping them so high in the 5Gal.. I'm really curious because this is pretty much the exact set-up i'll be running. 9 - 5Gal buckets with a 50Gal resi.. you run flood with top feed too? Any more information or information in detail about your previous grows before the mats would be absolutly awesome. again, really great job man.. looks awesome.

One of the best lights I've run! No mats, just blocks... not sure wtf right now, maybe the mats aren't really the key? either way stoked on this one!! the smell is nostraliscous
