Karma trying duo fluors and Maphito.....

Hello fine people

Some of you might now me from overgrow as Dutch Flower.
A friend of mine sells these Duo Fluors lamps they have 2 bulbs of 80 w
There has been a lot of talk about them here in holland and people dont believe they can produce any quantity.

So this is a TEST to see for myself and for all of you.

I also am going to try a Hydro system (i Normaly always grow organic)

I am using for this setup:

4 x duo fluors (total 640watt)
6 x Libra containers
1 x RVK250m3 out
1 x RVK200m3 in
1 x CAN carbon filter

and a lot of small other pieces

The closet is divided in two floors both half a meter deep and one meter in lenght.

Will grow 24 plants per floor. Because these lamps dont shine as deep as a hps i need more smaller plants ore a scrog. I will try both the upper floor wil be with Kushage#16 and be scrog't . The lower floor will be filled with Happy Brother a very special strain with a superb quality but very low yield. So the top floor is where the real test wil be.

Looks like a nice start. I have done a fair bit of cabinet growing with fluoros and you can grow some very nice bud but yield is lower. I miuch prefer using HPS these days, I get better results with a 250w HPS than I did with 400w of fluoro tubes in the same space.

BH yes i have the same experience with fluors but these are new and desirve a new test. There is 320 watts per layer so if the yield commes above 250gr i consider it a succes.

Sorry for the delay but i cant upload any pics at the moment.

The clones are in i planted Kushage#16 on the topshelf they started good.

The lower shelf i planted a few stweettooth#4 and Happy Brother clones these where not so nice clones and a few have a hard time adjusting to there new home.

I let them grow on 18 hours of light for 3 days and switched the light to flower.

I have a feeling the Kushage#16 will go very fast and will need a lot of tying.

Let the fun begin i put the clock on 12/12 and they seem to realy start to kick in they are growing a lot faster then i expected. It wil not take long before the Kushage fills the screen. The Happy Brothers might also neet some tying as they are already bigger then i thought they would be. I have been growing this strain for more then 7 years but have never grown it on a hydro system.

Looking good, you have your setup reallyy nice and neat, and looks like a very good start. The Kushage are indeed fast, perhaps some sativa pheno from the SAGE side? Not a bad thing imho as the Sativa side of SAGE (Sativa-Afghani Genetic Equilibrium) is the famed Big Sur Holy weed which is a very old cross of the famous Zacatecas Purple from Mexico and an Afghan/Kush type indica..

I selected this Kushage from 50 seeds from thbreeder packs end 2006. This plant was the most sativa in high and apearence the taste is much fresher then the other kushage where in the selection.

I also have a SAGE mom and she grows big big big even when you put here right in 12/12 from clone she still grows in the lamps......

sweet, i love experiments, especially with floro's. personally i think floro's have a bad reputation... they are all i use.

(if you feel like checking it out, i have a fluorescent bud pics thread in my signature, there are some pretty sweet set-ups some people have come up with just doing things on the cheap and experimenting. another guy in holland had eight foot floro's set up as a large cylinder, almost like a coffin, with the plants growing right up through and around them! he actually pours the water on and through the tubes! couldn't believe it with my own eyes.)

Thanks for that link khaleel . I also got another closet with te same lamps for testing the offspring of my crossings . Its grown on soil organic. I will post some budhots of that in your thread.

PS. This is how the HB looks when grown on bio soil with the same lamps.

But this plant is al about the taste and the couchlock stoned effect.

OMG......those lamps DO produce eh? I'm very impressed.........I've seen alot of fluoro grows.....whether it's cfl or 4ft shoplights..........but none that have produced like THAT! Man.....there is always buds in their setups.....but that added weight is completely lacking from the weak bulbs IMHO.....those look to have a great footprint.......possibly even more so than a 150W HPS!

The lamps are from TOP growsystems this is the Duo Fluor 160 watt they also have a 110 watt version. The grow bulbs are 4000 kelvin and the bloom bulbs i am using in this thread are 2100 kelvin.

I know it sounds just the same as al the others fluors that are on the market but i still think this one can produce some very nice dank herb...

The Update:

I switched to the bloom fertz Canna Aqua in this case. And start using Bcuzz bloom stimulator also using cannazym at the moment. When they are in full flower i will use the bcuzz blossom tabzz for extra yield....
