Snook - Thanks for the info, as they say, learn something new everyday. My question is how exactly do you use this and how does it pertain to what we do? I did some google-ing, so I get what it is, but didn't find any info that involves growing around it. Also how does using this differ from using a "regular" calendar or even the farmer's almanac? I get that tracking and documentation is helpful, as I loosely do (no spreadsheets, just a little pen and paper and/or these threads), but how is this not something else that simply adds to overcomplicating things? I hope I am asking the right questions, did just wake up haha

I use the Jdate in conjunction with typical day/month calendar to keep track of probable harvest dates which alerts me to when to take cuts for clones that will be ready asap after harvest for starting the next run, 25 days but each strain is different. how many days has a plant been in veg? I didn't want to take a regular calendar and count 77 days from 12/12 for the beginning or end date.. maybe it's a little OCD but I update these sheets every or every other day.. general notes, temps, RH, light type/strength... I now know that my best strain takes 23-24 days til the end of the stretch.. Idono and I have a computer.:tiphat:

Ah ok, thanks for the reply and the info...I understand this could be good practice in general. I might adapt a similar documentation structure once I have something a little more substantial than the random bagseed I've been running. Ideally I would like a few high quality strains to work with for a while and just keep collecting seeds to work with later, but hasn't been in the cards financially. When it is though, I have had my eyes on ACE's PCK, OGRaskals Wifi, and Archive's Grimace for quite some time.

I'm looking at SOUGOUDA seeds fro Soma.. and do not overlook the bag seed.. you kept them, the weed must have impressed you enough to keep them, no? learn how to clone.. I lost a pheno of BB Cheese years ago that I still think about because I didn't know how to clone.. and it isn't that hard to do.. GL with your growing.

EDIT: I thought I was PMing you.. sorry.

Haha, it's ok Snook...you have been my only regular in this thread and I don't mind the conversation. As far as the bag seed, yes and no...I have pretty low standards when it comes to bud because the last ten years hasn't put much of a dent in my tolerance so its all good to me lol. The problem I guess is that, with the exception of the 2(3 now) I labeled T they have all come from what we call around here "reggies" or "reg" for short. Being so close, I assume its all probably from mexico for what its worth. While I have had no complaints using said seeds, I have really only found two plants that I thought were worth cloning or keeping. About a year ago I had one I called Green Cotton because the buds seemed like just that, but the buds were rather dense all the same. At the time I had no interest in cloning because I really like starting seeds, but mostly was trying to keep everything in one tent for security reasons, so the GC was lost and I have thought about it like you have your BB Cheese. This time around the one I labeled A had me wanting more of them and that was the only seed. I kinda brought myself out of the comfort zone of little paranoia by making this other box, which is twice as much to worry about legally speaking, but I did it anyway. Blynx talked me into taking cuts even though they were flowering and now the 3 remaining in the shot glass have finally shown some legit progress with quite the bit of nubs, but I will let them continue to develop the roots before putting in dirt just yet. The one I did put in dirt few days ago probably won't make it. You're right though, it's not hard to do, and I'm glad I have taken the plunge in at least experimenting with doing so...if it turns out to be unmanageable for my situation then so be it. I started reading this place probably 3 months before I even started growing couple years ago so I have built up quite the knowledge bank and still learn more everyday I come here, I just keep applying what I can/should, when I can do so. Some things are crazy for me, like growing in a kiddie pool (even though I think its an awesome project)...while others are quite reasonable for me to do, like keeping a log like you suggested. Anyway, got on a roll haha, thanks for the advice. Also good luck to you as well :)

Hello all...just thought I would share something I have been working on over the weekend. Just finished it up, so figured I would post it tonight so it doesn't get mixed up or lost in the shuffle of my update tomorrow. Snook got me thinking, and I got to googling for a grow log. Didn't find but one that was useful to me. Though it was ok...it seemed kinda cramped, didn't flow well, and a bit too much for my use so I decided to make my own. I used some info from that one I found but also added stuff and tried to make it flow well. Though I designed it for myself, I kept in mind that other people could use it as well and that I could finally contribute something to ICMAG. I feel like it turned out pretty good, basic but comprehensive, and rather aesthetically pleasing considering I haven't touched a spreadsheet program in ten years since high school (ugh - just remembered my reunion is this year). I have attached the "printable" version, which is a scanned copy saved as a pdf. I will glady email the original to anyone for personal editing, but keep in mind I made this in LibreOffice Calc (opened in excel by accident and things were not the same haha).

this excel command will keep "todays date " dynamically in any cell you put it in. I use cell A2 for the date and A1 for the corresponding Julian date (Julian date, I must update manually though) on each sheet in the workbook... I have sheets for 'seed starts', cloning timing, information page (all the things I do not use regularly but do not want to forget like, url links, nutrient formulas, hole sizes, fan sizes & makes, etc.,etc.)
I had 'never' used one previously but the commands I use are very rudimentary... except that one down there, don't remember where that came from but it wasn't MY head.

=todaysdate!B1

How it does it, Idono, magic I guess.

Did you harvest the tent yet?

Hope those flowering cuts root for ya. I have a couple going myself. One finally threw out new growth and the other is taking off nicely. It just took like 6 for them to get going.

Snook - Yeah, I don't know if I am gonna use the jdate, the sheet I made is meant to be printed and filled out for each individual plant, to make myself be more aware and I feel that will be accomplished...only time will tell though, and I'm sure later on down the line, I will either find myself making revisions or different sheets in addition (went to bed last night thinking of making a temp/rh/water frequency log).

Blynx - Hope they root myself, they are slow as hell haha. No harvest yet but was very tempted last night. I will update shortly this afternoon.

04.28 update

04.28 update

Got quite a few projects going at different stages, rather interesting.
Failed to mention I did in fact harvest (A) last week when I responded in last post, just had the others on my mind. Took a budshot but lost it somehow. Thinking about harvesting the others tonight. Moved the Veg plants into the tent this morning and found a box to get them closer up to the light, should have been doing it more than the few times I have but its ok.

Tent:
B (Back right), F (front), G (back left) - 65 days 12/12
A (Front right corner) - week since harvest, keeping for re-veg in case cuts do not survive
Strawberry Cough & Afghani - 28-29 days veg
J - 1 week veg, the cutting in dirt fizzled so J was transplanted and took its place this morning (decided to germ 2 more of same variety this morning since T3 fizzled also)

Veg Box:
3 cuts of A left in water @ 2 weeks since cut I believe, I set aside this jar a week or two ago and decided to use it this morning. Maybe it will help speed things up. Tried to get a decent shot of the little nubs.
