Nice pics Gert, there looking good. Make sure you show us some more shots down the road then before you chop.

Oh OK, but only because it's you asking! :D

I've had awful problems with mites, and what with being away from the grow for a while, they had taken over and now everything looks like shite. The good thing is that after a few sprays of SBPI, I could not find a single mite today on inspection, so fingers crossed there.

Anyway, here is one of the skinnier pheno today, about 8-9 weeks in:

And here is one of the fatter pheno, that's the same as the one in my previous post, 22 Oct (#116):

I'll say that looks fat. I hope you can take care of the mite issues. It seems like there's always something to deal with in the grow world. I think the wost that got me were thrips a few years back. I took care of them with spinosad, thanks to the peeps here on IC, but before I figured out what was going on it was a nightmare.i ended up losing a few of my mother plants at the time.

I can't wait to see what you find in them. Wow 30, I wish I had the space to pop 30 beans at once. You're gonna have quite a jungle going on there.
As far as tips go, I guess It's nothing you don't already know, but get ready for some stretch. I think you got the right idea by flipping them right away.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Merry Christmas

checking back in. Looks like i've got a male from the bbb (sorry no pics right now) that looks very JB leaning. Very vigorous grower and, even in veg (under a modified 12-5-1-5 light cycle), smells fantastic.

how's your work coming ganja maker? I hope as good as last time.

speaking of stretch. You might be able to control stretch with a 12/5/1/5 cycle. My male was still a very strong grower, but after putting him under 12/12 flowering he has only stretched not more than 1.5-2 inches. starting kicking out strong floral development in 4-5 days after flowering induction.

good luck man

Hey 3rdEye, it's funny as your timing of checking in is right on. Just a few nights ago I was getting to the bottom of my last jar of the JB from that last run. It was like someone was playing a joke on me. For anyone that wasn't following along, I never ended up producing any seeds from that frozen pollen I had tried. So here I am getting ready to roll one up out of my last jar, and I mean like my last few grams or so pops out 1 seed. It really made me chuckle.

So, being out of JB and all, and I still need to make seeds(not just one). I got one JB and one Hawaiian Snow that I plan to hit with some live JB pollen this time.
I just put them in about a week ago. After two weeks I'm going to bring in the male, which I have vegging in a solo cup. I'm not going to let it bust on my whole room though. once it starts I plan to take it out to collect the pollen off it. I also still do have some other frozen foil packs i can try on a branch or two again even though it didn't take last time.

I'll get working on getting some pics for the upcoming show to begin.

As far as messing with the light cycle, that's not an option for me because I run different strains at the same time in my room.

Ok I got a few pics to get this rollin again.

Here they are one Hawaiian Snow, and one JB. They've been in flower for about two weeks now.

Then here we have the male clone I just put in last night.

it needs a watering in the pic, but it's a healthy plant.
You've seen how my JB turns out, here's an older pic of the Hawaiian Snow.

A little blurry, but I always liked this pic.

classic blaze pom poms in that last pic.

Funny you are growing the hs alongside the blaze I made that cross both ways hs x jb and jb x hs as well as thousands of hs f2's and many crosses with my standard snow pollen.

Hawaiian snow is probably my favorite smoke ever, I haven't tried any of my hs crosses yet but I think the blaze cross could be special, especially if aromas flavors mingle as expected.

Hey bloyd, I figured the HS would be a good cross also. Since I wanted to make f2's of the JB I thought why not throw in the HS also. It's the most sativa out of the rest of mothers I have. Unfortunately my HS is from a fem mix pack, and not the standard like you have. I've read on here that they do not have the same parents. Either way though, I really enjoy what i ended up with so I could care less what GHS used.
That last pic is actually HS.

I lost my JB mom a couple months ago. Very sad day. Later cleaning up my work table I found the last pack I bought and lo and behold there were 3 seeds left. Happy happy. Bad news was they must be 4-5 years old and had been on the table all that time but WTF I can't buy any so in some paper towel straight away. Hope springs eternal and all 3 up and running after 48 hours.

I've got 3 healthy and happy 2 week old seedlings with varying degrees of DJ's deformed leaf "problems" vegging away. I'm hoping for 2 females and a good male so I can make some F2s and hit my favourite GFxDJ's BB from Chimera. They both have the same male cut as father. So doubling up on him (ie. Nev.HazexBBsat. xGrapefruitxBBsat) should give a good cross with limited variation, great taste and BB "bliss" feeling.

I still have some GFxBB seeds I'll sort through this summer and look for a male and do the opposite cross if I don't find one now. A nice foxtailed female is my first wish.

Good find exile, and glad to hear they popped so easily.
It took almost a month for one of my seeds to crack.
Good luck on making your cross, it sounds like a winner. Keep us posted and feel free to throw up some pics. There's a few JB fans in here that will enjoy I'm sure.

I'm now removing the male from the room. It's starting to show flowers, so I think he'll be bustin some in a day or two.

GanjaMaker,

Wow! Those are beautiful golden nuggets. I thought Johnny Blaze was a blue strain. That golden yellow color speaks to me, no, it calls me like a siren's song. It reminds me of Colombian Gold and some Thai Sticks I once had that were gold/yellow color. Both were so killer. I hope those are as good as they look for you.

Nice grows. I'm going to try the vertical lighting one day. The Hawaiian Snow looks pretty damn nice also.

Hey TB, yeah I see what you're saying. They do still have a little blue tint to them though. Each time I ran her I've tried diff. nutes, and they came out diff. each time.

You really should give vert growing a try, especially if you like sativa's and stretchy strains. I know it can be a huge pain to switch a system around, but you'll never know until you try it. Then you're gonna say damn I should've tried that years ago.

@sir alex I have also noticed a few nanners towards the end of the cycles, but they don't seem to be causing any trouble as far as seeding. I just pick them off when i see um.

I've got some other strains I need to run for a bit, but the next JB's to come through will be sure to make an appearance up in here. When I get to the F2's that should be fun also.
