I grew up in Homestead and I was just into my double digit midget days at 10. Hawk missile battaries were rolling down the country road we lived on. Soldiers were tossing us some of their badges from the backs of the trucks. Nike missile batteries were across town out in the wilds where the Nascar track is now located. I remember being scared in my bed in the dark. I learned how to duck and cover and to not look at the flash of the nuclear bomb.October 1962. My dad was in the Airforce, they were on high alert. I was a kid and didn't understand all of it, but I do remember seeing the tension on adults faces. Like, "are we all gonna die" tension. Shit was real.
Thankfully JFK used diplomacy and turned things down a notch which is why we're all still here. Biden isn't trying to de-escalate. almost like somebody is pulling his puppet strings.
Biden is working for the next guy in line. Everything is going to be great after the inauguration.
