I’m a big fan of how much they've helped the Middle East, I mean look how great that place has become with all the intervention.

i'm never going to be accused (by anyone intelligent) of thinking OR saying that we (the USA) are perfect and don't fuck things up horribly. the law of unintended consequences bite one the more you try to help... but lots that go wrong over there are of their own doing. the middle east has NEVER been a peaceful place.

It seems like a conservative religious government has negative consequences.

Legislated morality and limited freedom might not be the greatest decisions for a government to choose.

Maybe we'll start cutting off hands, stoning people, and throwing homosexuals off of buildings...

The thirty year war had nothing to do with the Middle East my guys. My post in responding to AOH was meant to be ironic hence the laughing and winkie faces, even mustard got that (I think). On a serious note any country that puts up boarders will be in conflict with another so the blasé and slightly racist connotation that the Middle East would be that way anyways does nothing to assuage the fact that US occupation in this area has leas to more death and destruction in the name of the great empire than it did towards spreading anything akin to democracy.
