well some years ago the rep's had all 3 pieces of the gov't, and s.s./medicare/etc is still with us.... it the same thing as the dem's saying we need gun control (which we do), but fuk all passed when they controlled all 3 parts..

Someday with their blatant corruption, it could happen. If there willing to turn the USA into a fascist state they are willing to do anything.
People have been brainwashed. No one is after our guns. Weapons of war have no purpose in the public hands. If you want to shoot at targets using one join the military or law enforcement with the possibility of using them to kill other people.
Republicans have been loosing support for years. It was always the rich white boys club supported by those who were upwardly aspiring. As the middle class disappeared with oligarchs controlling more and more, the American dream of upward mobility became less obtainable and the party had to resort to manipulating the lesser educated and gullible to support the oligarchs. At this point, it's more like the oligarchs are recruiting an army to keep them in power, not unlike Prigozhin in Russia.
