lots of seasonal owners who r gone for the season, who i am sure would luv to share their bounty with the less fortunate
take from the rich just to "own them" (LOL!) and give to the poor, huh? if you are not willing to take one in yourself, i would not mention making others open their homes. that would seem....hypocritical. they were not housed in private homes or estates when in Texas OR Florida, why would you expect them to be housed like that in Martha's Vineyard...? take your time.

the people 'escorting' the immigrants to the army base had u.s. army uniforms on.... so they were not the military?? who were they?? -

the governor of each state is the 'head-honcho' of the nat guard... who gives a shit whether he is a rep or a dem.

and they went along 'voluntarily' ?? .... which means they can leave anytime they wish???

their accommodations look pretty good.... where can i sign up for free room/board/food/etc
I certainly don't give a shit as to which party the governor belongs. I understand the National Guard is a branch of the military. I understand that immigration is a Federal responsibility which is why the governor called up the Guard.

The Venezuelans were not rounded up and frog marched at gunpoint. They were transported off of the island to Joint Base Cape Cod. That base happens to be certified by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency as an emergency shelter. The base has been used as a shelter for hurricane victims. There is a plan in place.

"EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Massachusetts Statewide Mass Care and Shelter Coordination Plan (Plan) establishes a framework for the Commonwealth and other supporting agencies and organizations to
successfully implement the state’s shelter strategy.
The purpose of this Plan is to facilitate a shared vision for the mass care and shelter process in the Commonwealth, and to serve as a guide to implement the state’s shelter strategy which is intended to help increase overall mass care and shelter capabilities, improve mass care and shelter related information sharing between local and state government, identify a process to assist communities when they are overwhelmed, and better coordinate and allocate mass care and shelter resources throughout the Commonwealth.
The Plan is a scalable framework that can be implemented during all types of incidents,
regardless of size and scope. It describes state policies, roles and responsibilities of all levels of government, and a general concept of coordination for shelter operations in the Commonwealth. In addition, this plan describes how local, state and nongovernmental organizations will work together to provide mass care and sheltering services for displaced disaster survivors."

Maybe you can help me with something I don't understand. I don't understand why the governor of my state sent a plane to Texas and then sent the plane to Martha's Vineyard without any notice. Can you help me understand that?

Dude you've obviously never been to the Vineyard or any of the other surrounding islands like Nantucket.
Lots of people struggling on both islands.
That said. The Democrat virtue signalers on the Vineyard get what they deserve. I say send 1000 a day and let them choke on it but dont paint the entire population with a broad brush.

Our family went to Provincetown once. That was before I was aware of Gay vs. Straight culture.

I liked the Candy smells when you're walking around downtown. Also there was some guy doing metal-working in a booth/stall right on the street, that was cool.

So, they could solve the homeless problem, but they choose not to??

We are at war. So, I have a feeling that the issue of who paid for what and how is sort of a moot point. However, it is still a good question. I'd like to know the details too.

California Governor gavin Newsom is forcing hotel businesses to take in homeless. Everyone wants to solve the homeless problem and it is easy to do. But, forcing businesses like hotels to suffer and take all the burden and possibly face going out of business is a terrible idea. I only bring it up because I noticed that the ritzy hotels of Cape Cod aren't being treated the way low cost hotels or motels in CA are being treated. Not saying the resorts in Cape Cod should be made to take people in whether homeless or undocumented. But, just interesting how poor communities are treated so differently than rich communities.

you Commies think we should put them in labor camps? They really aren’t going to be productive any other way.

What is the "easy to do" solution to the homeless problem, @Hempy McNoodle ?
Build housing on government owned land using lumber milled from National forests (CA has many standing dead trees that can still be harvested and that would help reduce fire fuel). Army Core of Engineers can build the homes. Non-violent prisoners can work on homes for reduced sentences. Probably would be fixed-solvable in less than six months.

That was just off the top of my head, there are hundreds of similar solutions. Adaptations in zoning laws can be very helpful to make 'tiny homes' totally accessible (rather than exclusively available or 'non-available').

hempy... put jimmy carter in charge .... he wasn't much as a president, but as a human being he gets a thumbs up...
i agree. he WASN'T much of a politician/POTUS, but he was a far better human being than most. and The Chump sucked at being either, lol! fortunately, Stempy can't "put" anyone in charge of anything.
