great idea on the trash cans, i am going to hit up the store tomorrow to look for something similar, I would just go for a bed but I am growing from seeds so who knows that I have (sex)
Thanks for stopping by my friends. Watered yesterday, so I took some pics before I put them back. I am loving these trash cans, I have so much more room now, but I had these in veg for a long time, I am hoping they don't get all root bound because I won't be transplanting again at this point.
I hope to get a very good harvest this time. Thanks for all the advice from growers here, it has certainly helped.
The one WR on the left has 2 more weeks to go to harvest but the rest are just starting out.
I am loving these trash bins, look at all the circulation room that gives me between plants. Before, with the big round pots, they were so crammed in there.

yes i find them great to work with the 1's im usen 12quart/3gal i have drilled 3/8 inch size holes in the bottom many of them lol. then on all of the sides starting from approx 2inch down from rim every 2inch. i noticed ya have a few on the sides sweet, i have 2inch perlite in bottom then soil. the holes in the sides allow for a better oxygen exchange in the soil, esp when container is off ground 1/2 inch. only time i drain out any lower side holes is if i hurry lol but if i take them few extra seconds and gently pour the water over soil. it drains out the bottom only after 7-10 days in any container i'll be watering every other day and not be rootbound.again your garden is lookn really right on
Maj Pothead, I did follow your example and drilled a holes all around my bins, the water never runs out the side holes, you were right. I would love to have something to fit in to get them off the floor. I am looking and thinking, Im sure ill come up with something. But for now, I have a fan blowing across the floor, through the bins to help with ventilation. Thanks for all your help hun.
This is up next. Dream Goddess to go in when the almost done Rhino comes out.
Then my next grow will be these ice princess/twilight X bubblegum. They are from cuts and will be vegging another 5 or 6 weeks before my flower room is clear.
jesus christ.... yeah, i'd say you have a log allright, i finally made it to the end.... i'm running a white rhino now, the only one that survived shipping. as karma would have it, female, but my cuttings failed, so i'm going to have to cut a few more, or reveg after flower. the problem with taking more cuttings, is it would leave the cola only; i'm quite fond of my christmas trees... but, it's good to see what i'll end up with before hand my dreamgoddess is the most vicious plant i've ever grown. all cutts rooted in 4-5 days, reveging immediately with fantabulous vigour. at two weeks of veg, it looks like a plant from bean! i've got the original in flower right now, about a third to half way done...
I came across an article a while ago by the 3 little birds on the use of molasses. It sound like a real nice additive. I was wondering since you're all organic if you'd tried it out yet?
BTW, I'm a proud papa of a bouncing baby girl Shiskaberry!!!!
Red, yes I did happen across that article by way of vonforne. He has helped me a lot and I am using the 3LB method for aeration of molasses and water. There is a lot of good info in the organic soil subforum, and I use a lot of it even thought I am not 100% organic.
My plants look better than ever, but I have tweaked a number of things here lately, the molasses being one. You should try it, it is very easy.
Do you run the molasses all the way through or just for flowering?
I've read that some of the store bought additives are just molasses or something similar and if used at the wrong time they can make fluffy buds or super sized root balls.
I am using in veg too. But not every watering, for even the ones in flower, there are times I feel they just need plain old water and I usually let it run through a good bit to flush out junk.
I guess (yall know I have no schedule, and I generally don't measure stuff) I use the molasses every other time and if it is time for some ferts too I add it in and let that bubble too.
This is my third run using it and I havent noticed either thing happening. My plants have normal sized balls hahahahaha root balls...hahaha....and buds.
BTW, very nice plant...Shishkaberry huh? That should be good. I am having a hard time here...concentrating. Just smoked a bowl of kali mist with kief sprinkled on top. I'm....happily stoned..... lol
