It's the Climate, stupid

The earth is around 4 billion years old.

The icy continent of Antarctica wasn't always the barren landscape that we all know today. As early as 90 million years ago, the continent may have been covered in a temperate rainforest, similar to what you'd find in today's New Zealand, instead of an ice cap.

According to the researchers, CO2 levels may have been as high as 1680 parts per million (ppm), roughly four times higher than they are today.

Killed to starve the native Americans. They're all methane producers, but in the meantime fertilized the fields where they were walking on.

For us, unless you're able to survive in an ice age.Lower activity of the sun in combination with a lower CO2 level will bring a new ice age.
How come we didn't have a period of global cooling following the mass slaughter of the buffalo by the American government?

I don't understand why climate change and the existential threat it poses isn't a bigger issue. I feel humans are like frogs put in slowly boiling water, and don't realise what's happening until it's too late.
Big polluters have been very effective at calling climate change a hoax, but surely things have somewhat turned a corner here. At least I hope so. Yet nothing seems to change?

The economy won't matter much if the climate becomes such a threat that we can't feed ourselves. Eight billion people essentially burning things for energy, whilst at the same time cutting remaining forests and pouring plastic into the ocean isn't sustainable. Even if you don't believe in man induced climate change, most would realise this is a problem.
Solid Point there. You would think things would be a little more focused on what we will do when shit hits the fan… instead, People are buying Tesla’s with the thought they are helping the environment, when in reality the amount of damage being done to Fucking Everything and Everyone as a result of the intense mining in China is absolutely insane. This Elon musky dude is a product of China. But this image of some smart and wealthy space man trumps the fact hes just pile of shit puppet that should be dropped off in my neighborhood.
Its what ever the media wants… they will mind fuck ya, pls be careful.
sorry had to let the anger out. I fucking hate Tesla’s man lol would rather crawl by finger nail than have a part in that bs.

We should 1000% be protecting our environment as much as possible. But I don’t think co2 is our biggest problem. If greenhouse gasses are causing the earth to warm than we are boned, because water vapor is by far the biggest greenhouse gas. https://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/vapor_warming.html

Don't worry, Mother Nature will take care of everything, she always does! :shucks:
she can be pretty cruel, you know. leaving the "solution" to nature may not work out for us as a species. she lets lots of things go extinct...and we are just another animal that shows no sign of wanting to adapt to our changing environment. just saying...:badday:

It'll affect certain regions before others, or at least more seriously.
China, middle East, Africa, India and Pakistan, not to mention South America, in short, pretty much those areas we as 1st world nations worry about being a threat the most. Kind of puts a different slant on things when carrying on as normal will hurt "those others" far more than us.
And then we wonder why our govts. don't seem to care.

Couple of quick points,
cows run 24 hours a day, cars don't.
Dinosaurs were able to be large due to high oxygen levels back then, not high co2 levels. Dinosaurs didn't breathe co2.
Whales are huge too but they aren't huge because of an oxygen rich environment.

Current human population abt 7.5 billion, projected to be 9.5 billion around 2060, by which time it will start to dramatically decline due to 'ideas' of Women's Liberation and effective birth control.

........ I'm reminded of that old joke, 'Man plans and God laughs', we're doing it to ourselves 'cause we're sooo 'smart', we know so much more than the wisdom of Mother Nature as we travel our own man-made highway to hell! :smoky:

so the whole world is going on about nothing it seems ,
and of course man hasnt added to this problem by any means despite the massive amounts of carbon gasses he emits through industry etc ,
maybe we will all just grow bigger and plants will be happier right??
Mans 'massive amounts of carbon' all came from somewhere before man. the carbon cycle is a wonderful thing. And any rise in CO2 will also cause plants to increase their carbon based mass acting as a store.

Other than a miniscule rise in CO2 and temps there is not much evidence of any actual warmings or climate disaster.

And there is no denying that if you limit CO2 you limit life. But to some that is the goal. And some others the goal of the Climate hysteria is being financed by the Russians who want the US to be crippled on the use of fossil fuels as they flood the world with them....

What if I told you I believe oil is not from dinosaurs but is continually made deep within the earth?

It's said every human on earth can fit in Texas with a 1000 sq foot footprint for each.

How much are you allocating for their food production, raw materials for clothing, housing, energy requirements, educational facilities, recreational facilities, health care, it's really not long till you run out of earth if you do the maths properly.

Average oxygen levels during that time was around 30% and CO2 was around 2000 ppm.

Sorry man but what's your point? I really hope it's not that oxygen was only 50% more than it is today whereas co2 was 500% therefore the co2 must have been responsible for their size, because that would be quite an embarrassing post for you.
