What's new

Is this a viroid leaf mutation or something else?

Thanks for an assistance.

I've been germinating seeds from 2014 that I made and ran into this one right out of the gate.
Observation:
-leaves are fairly pale light green
-3 leaves w/ 1 small pinnula
-the first set of leaves terminal leaflet is split at the end
-the set of leaves on the same side of the plant looks like a 4 leaf?

only thing done differently on these germinations is I tried to use up some older peat pucks. Some of the roots had trouble getting through the netting and many of them petered out and died.

should I just pull it or let it ride? There are other plants in the same pot that are healthy.

is it older seeds? bad Ph in the root zone or overwatering during sprouting? wacky genes (GG4 from Denver)?

I remember some of my other GG4 crosses being pale green and even the clone I received from a trusted source was lighter in color.

Interesting post friend. I would keep her and see what she will do for plant wisdom.

Observation:
-leaves have mostly recovered their color
-3 leaves w/ 1 small pinnula (more of these leaves)
-the first set of leaves terminal leaflet is split at the end
-the set of leaves on the same side of the plant looks like a 4 leaf? (this turned out to have 5 leaves but 1 was on the underside hidden.
-new growth has traditional apical meristem on one side, on the opposite side of the plant their are 2 meristems .

-The meristem area is offset instead of being symmetrical.
- The secondary growth is growing very fast almost out pacing the top
-The branch on the right is thicker, with veins and came out split, The left branch is thinner but still growing fast
