Yeah that kunta kinte is RRUFFF!! & Shaka is the greatest, hope to see the sound someday. Last great dance I went to was when Rodigan was here couple months ago some big big tunes and one of the best dj(selector) performances I've ever seen. Last year here in Finland has been such a good year in reggae Cornell Campbell, Lone Ranger, Top Cat, Iration Steppas, Massive B, Abyssinians, Black Uhuru.. can't even remember everything.

Nice to hear people are feeling good dubs here.

some random favourites(some of which I've been listening to lately) I could find on utube:

Scientist and Jammy always close to heart and Roots Radics being one of the best backing bands ever.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ss9IB7uyuas&locale=en_US&persist_locale=1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfiwRa8JhEk&locale=en_US&persist_locale=1
in my opinion Dub Landings are underrated

Something older. Beatiful and moving, a long time cover favourite.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOZpBbhb0QI&feature=related

Love I Jahman Levi with his singer/songwriter style, wonderful presentation.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPdhhw-Omb0&feature=related

Of course something for the dancehall also.

Thank you GroovySituation, you posted some very great tunes yourself! Do I like The Viceroys? I love them! Such nice sinister harmonisations, and that riddim is one of the best(love the guitar licks), also like the eek-a-mouse version of this riddim. That mafia whoooa what a great song! Have you heard the Snuffy & Wally - Dreader mafia a dj version of this tune on Joe Gibbs label?

There's also some other great stuff on the Cactus label.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMO1Q75wGjg
and dub from this is on Harry Mudie & King Tubby - Harry Mudie Meet King Tubby's In Dub Conference Vol 1
which is in my opinion one of the best dub albums.

On Studio 1 this is one of the best in the sweet department  , such a unique voice one of the all time favourites.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwzzAtRq750&locale=en_US&persist_locale=1
(I'm propably making you bored with typing just about all the favourites but theres just so many and they never stop, theres always new ones because theres just simply too much good music on this planet :biglaugh:)

whouaw , this studio one is killer!!
talkin bout' early reggae i love phill pratt prodz on the sunshot label(let love in is one) ....EVERYBODY should listen to "phill pratt thing" VA compilation...........EVERYBODY
i nearly cry each time i hear "little things" in wich he sings himself (unable to find it on u tube)
Im also found of "rock to sleep" by horace andy (not on utube)
also some powerfull big youth chunes!

i love studio one! i'm sure u will know them all krepis (u seem to know ur thing') but i must throw some studio one all time classics here , for the good of everyone :bashhead:

freddie mc gregor rastaman camp
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z5CxMTKIr8

Prince jazzbo crabwalkin (one of my all time favorite deejay version , i won't offend u all by telling u what is the original tune...)
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=zptybn--0LQ&feature=related

Horace andy with Mr bassie(deicated to the basseman leroy "heptone" sibbles)

Derrick Harriot is a great producer and singer, he has so many good productions and is
always in a groovy situation too.(sorry, just had to put it up)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_uSpx4fct8

of course the comforting hit
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J88Be9rYCFY
to this same rhytmh theres wonderful interpretation by Augustus Pablo called Bells of death the melodica cuts it like butter(could find a sound clip sorry), do you know this one GroovySituation?

The Crystalites with their spaghetti western(well maybe not this one) influences are of the hook.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAy8hkJSawY&feature=related&locale=en_US&persist_locale=1

I also have to mention a very nice dub album from derrick harriot (in case you haven't noticed I'm a bit of a dub freak ) Derrick Harriott - Presents Scrub-A-Dub Reggae

Reggae is amazing. I am close friends with Burning Spear. Nothing but love and good vibes from down there. (Jamrock)
I got to see them perform.. Jesus, well over 20 years ago at a reggae festival on Catalina Island.
Count another reggae fan among the numbers here. I am much more fond of the older stuff, though (and my ex-husband ended up with all those albums :( actual vinyl, too).

all them music videos in 80s-90s so riduculous.. artists shouldv read contract betttr... most reggae singers see contract and sign it..than them forced to do videos like that.. israel vibration ran that same problm.. like rudeboy shufflin or feelin irie..not only is it remix version for popular audience>>but them look miserable and angry the whole time...

fuk corporate world.. burn babyylon down>>and when em rebuild .. we set it pon fire!!!

yo

groovy-i'm feeling that Shaka joint you posted -sound like a great show. And  BLACK ROOTS  repping for my home town-we have alot of reggae/dancehall parties-here's one from last year Jah Tubbys sound in Argyle Rd (i'm visible in the crowd  )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxjMWv6N5Wo

GSensi-yeah the gig was great thanks-the last time i saw Aswad was in 1982-amazingly here's that gig
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOhPDkS29i4&feature=related

another ~African Children
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds2dHFGYVxs&feature=related

Krepis-nice dub input-alot of the dub i'd like to link isn't on Youtube (yet). Like Prince Hammer~World War Dub part III, circa 1979 mixed by (then) Prince Jammy. It's a killer-also the Prince Hammer LP called Bible, again some of the heaviest DJ versions on that one-real hardcore

here's another Prince Hammer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_87y9cm1i0

classic vox/dub from Black Uhuru~Shine Eye Gal
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdcR0tdAnDE

still on the old school tip-when i think of the SWEETEST reggae i think about singers like Hugh Mundell~Jah said the time has come

not too early :muahaha:

i'm a dub freak too but as eddie says , on u tube there's not what i want...people don't seem too like dub that much....so i don't search for dub to link no more

oh and i dunno the deejay version of mafia !........sadly

Eddie : ure a lucky guy to have such sound systems upon the streets of ur city!!
u give me the idea to check if some vidz of tha shaka night were on utube...They are! Some of the bes moments...
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=WaSnt6Ltm4I
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=d9iQvFatBvM
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=6Y3EFpo51xg
sadly there's not shaka deejay version on jahoviah....

that maka me think bout a vid i found the other day...little kirk davis (a digital era superstar) very young , in the middle of the night , RULLING the dancehall.....simply amazing
http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=EqaibRC5_ck
u can notice how adults arround him are proud (and maybe surprized) of him!

Talkin about dub , have u guys listened to the pressure sound 'drum sound' that gathers rare dub from the revolutionaries (including Kunta kinte and the dub of fade away "roots dub")? Kicks ass

Thank you, Sensi. :) This thread has helped jog my memory GREATLY. Watched some Eek-a-Mouse, MAN did that bring back some memories (the Wa-do-Dem vid), and made me happy. Then I got on my motorcycle and went riding. :D
