Cherry..........

Cherry..........

Got one. Not sativa at all quite a robust and sturdy plant.
Of course, I neglected to clone it , so now I gotta root some cuts in hard flower. It'll work, but a bummer. DOH!!!:spank:

OOps, I forgot to mention, my seeds were prob. 07-08 vintage.

the cherry ak is a myth and nothing more, all ak's have a vague sweet smell, i found that everybody i told it smelled like cherries would in turn smell them and say they do as well, i could tell another friend it smelled like sandalwood and they would agree...it's just a complex and nondescript taste that is very easy to project hundreds of different smells onto it.

if you don't believe me do a little bit of searching, Simon, the breeder himself says the "cherry pheno" is a myth, and in all the thousands and thousands of ak47's he has grown out to bread the strain he has never once found one that would qualify as a "cherry pheno" he also mentioned that every single "cherry pheno" he saw from local growers were just random pheno's. if the guy that bred the strain says it doesn't exist then it DOESN'T EXIST!

personally i can't stand the smell or taste of ak47, i grew out 11 seeds, 6 females, i had 4 different phenos and all were potent, and all yeilded well, but they all tasted exactly the same, and i couldn't peg the flavor down at all, EVERY single person that tried it seemed to think it tasted like something different, also they were easily susceptible to suggestion, you could just mention it tastes like one thing and people would agree...

Maybe they don't have cherry Ludens in Holland?!?!? LOL.
I doubted the existence also, based on the info you stated, but I'll be dammed, it's THERE, and only 1 of 7-8.

Everyone likes something different, different strokes for different folks.

That being said AK-47 is dated, old news. I have not found a single plant in over 100 seeds lately that is even worth taking to the next round of breeding. They are just bland commercial plants that yield well.
Might be good if you are new to the game, but for me they seem jus meh...

This is total nonsense. I have had an AK47 in the past that absolutely oozed a pure cherry smell. It was unmistakeable. There was no 'myth' going on there. It was reality. The breeder's comments can't erase what I personally experienced.

"I've never had one, therefore it doesn't exist" is kind of an absurd position to take.

for-sure still some amazing CHERRY in the older pack's of ak-47..the male i have now came from one of those pack's..it carries heavy in hybrids this i'm seeing smelling first hand...this whole CHERRY MED'S project that's underway now will bring the cherry 47 back to the front lines, these hybrids will impress unless there in the hands of haters...

pay attention ppl.

Hard to say what to make of the various claims made in this thread, but I have to ask (if the poster is still around) why would you grow out 100 plants, if they weren't much good?

Right!

But maybe to found cherry/strawberry pheno?!
Sometimes, 100 plants is not enough, has he tried 1000?
