"Available" as in, Are people still Finding This Pheno in Packs of Serious Seeds AK-47??

The Reason I Ask, Is a while back I read

something about Serious changing their AK Lineage Slightly

(Possibly a New Stud

) Anyhow, because of the Change, people are no longer finding the Highly Prized

I have a cherry cough-drop pheno of ak-48 i know these are totally diff strains, but just wanted to put that out there. the patients who use this strain for motivation and energy enjoy the clear-head effect while being able to be productive.

Actually, I Believe that Confirms my Theory

that Nirvana's AK-48 is an F2/F3 of AK-47 (Serious Seeds)

The AK Cherry Pheno is Described by Many as growing a Much More Sativa learning plant (Streachy, Weak Stems) that tastes and smells like Luden's Cough Drop's. Apparently the Cherry Phenotype is so dominate (??From its Afghani Heritage??) its carried over in the White Russian Cross (AK x WW)

If its Because the 48 is a lot Cheaper

or If I'm Right and Nirvana's AK is an F2 of Serious' AK-47, Which would Cause the 48 to Have a Much More Diverse Gene-Pool

so the Cherry Phenotype would be Expressed Much More Often (Than an F1)...Or Perhaps its a Combination of Both??

I Have 7 ak-48 that I have in bloom right now and a few of them look promising. I will have to report back on how they turn out but this thread just made me real happy knowing now that the cherry pheno is even possible let alone more dominate in the ak48. 7 females from 10 seeds.... best ratio thus far for me!

I grew out serious AK47 back in 2006/07. I found that most of the phenos leaned toward the cherry luden type aroma...

If you are growing out these beans, just don't get set on the cherry phenos and toss everything else. The chrry phenos are alright, but the shorter sandlewood phenos will put your dick in the dirt. I got a sandlewood pheno in the pack I popped (only one, as opposed to the mostly cherry ones) and also have smoked an oldschool ak pheno that gets passed around this area and is also sandlewood.

From my understanding, the sandlewood is the best representation of the potent old school ak47, and the cherry has been bred for more in recent years...

i have 6 serious ak47 and 6 nirvana 48 so i think i will do a open pollination of the 2 packs for ckicks and see what comes of it my be i can find one in between the 2 hard ak buds with a ak48 cherry smell and taste . as soon as i move and that will be shortly. but first i have to grow my rez sssdh and my Mr.nice the doors. and my rez strawberry diesels ..and make me some f2 and find a keeper mother of each pack.

Honestly Dr organic, I don't think the variation is going to be that good. There are many F1 crosses out there where hunting variety is a task with every seed...AK-47 will only get so good. Hunting is not that exciting....I have started the Ak-47...pretty much my results were like everyone else's results....Ak-48 seems, having not grown it, the best representation of the fruiter/sweeter/cherry side...My plant that most smelled like cherries was a male...the second most is fruity/cherryish but not like the male....However, simon breed it to be a one hit wonder....it is not that...the high is long but relatively bland for a sativa...it had its time...but it is not a one hit wonder in these times. Nevertheless, a good phenos will definitely meet keeper quality.

So in conclusion, throw either the rez sssdh, straw dez, or mr nice keeper female phenos in with the Ak 47/8 and spice it up... the Ak needs to be out breed...if you have the means, then by all means....rock that pollen everywhere. Its not about the cherry. Ak is a good breeder....why fuck your cousin?

I personally think if the 'cherry' type pheno is what you are after I would garb 3-4 packs of Nirvana AK-48 which is the same cost as one pack of serious AK-47 and germ 20 at a time, look through them and if nothing is found open pollinate them. Perform the same thing with the remaining 20 and I'm sure you will find something special. I have smoked cherry phenos from both co.'s and mind you this is just my experience, the AK-48 cherry was far superior in amany ways to the 47 and was overall a much better smoke. Friends were given the 2 and we blind smoked them and no-one wanted to hear the truth at the end such is the love for Serious and the plants my friends have made serious $ off in the past using it as their commercial strain. I myself am a 'whatever get's the job done' kinda guy and wasn't at all surprised the 48 had produced a superior plant albeit after having to germ well over a hundred of these beans from the original seedpack to f3's made by my friend. Overall though the 47 seems to have deteriorated over the past few years according to friends who grow it and have ordered seeds recently. This is 2nd hand info however and I haven't seen these plants myself (the latest one's from less than a year ago) so I can't guarantee whether this is true.

the cherry ak is a myth and nothing more, all ak's have a vague sweet smell, i found that everybody i told it smelled like cherries would in turn smell them and say they do as well, i could tell another friend it smelled like sandalwood and they would agree...it's just a complex and nondescript taste that is very easy to project hundreds of different smells onto it.

if you don't believe me do a little bit of searching, Simon, the breeder himself says the "cherry pheno" is a myth, and in all the thousands and thousands of ak47's he has grown out to bread the strain he has never once found one that would qualify as a "cherry pheno" he also mentioned that every single "cherry pheno" he saw from local growers were just random pheno's. if the guy that bred the strain says it doesn't exist then it DOESN'T EXIST!

personally i can't stand the smell or taste of ak47, i grew out 11 seeds, 6 females, i had 4 different phenos and all were potent, and all yeilded well, but they all tasted exactly the same, and i couldn't peg the flavor down at all, EVERY single person that tried it seemed to think it tasted like something different, also they were easily susceptible to suggestion, you could just mention it tastes like one thing and people would agree...

As far as the 48 goes, there are most certainly cherry phenos. The sweet fruity thing dominates a few types, but there is a good strong cough drop/blackcherryish thing.
