Is Mexico weed landrace?

But as too buying landrace I'm not down to pay what all these "breeders" want for their stock
It's insane to charge that for a 15 + week seed. That's why I started growing my own
I don't want to pay the price for what dealer are charging for a. 1/8th
It's insane.. Thought huh outdoor weed from Mexico is a better shot
At a landrace than a bean from my buddy's backyard..
I'm prepping my outdoor spots now and was Gona use these to test the waters so to speak
And if they are still there then I know I'm good. I just don't wana waste
My good genitics on some punk kids finding my stash spot

make some F2 beans from some great genetics to throw around outdoor as a gorrila grow, longer flowering times are cool and all, but depending on where your located they might not have a chance to finish before frost...or require you to start em indoors to finish properly. also Pedro's seeds don't exactly come with detailed flowering info...so your flying blind so to speak. Herijuana was breed to flower fast, before drug task force started sweeping the land.

Just because he is mexican, grows weed in a big ass field and carries a gun doesn't make him cartel...they like to grow pot and smoke pot. I know a few Paisas myself and they are cool ass individuals, really down to earth. They just wanna make money for their family. These cats support an extended family that would rival a fuckin sports team...

With that said...no Mexican "landrace" unfortunately doesn't exist anymore. But then again define landrace? Would the feral hemp in the midwest of the US be considered landrace at this point?

The dutch seed companies that popped up in the 90s and the 2000s spread that sweet skunk around the world and growers around the world realized they could get more weight with these "new" plants. Ditching old genetics and growing the dutch stuff, US Government agencies pushing to destroy the "drug trade" and the fact that Coca, and now meth, are more profitable has made a lot of weed growing in these areas pretty much a backyard affair or a super massive commercial affair, where they don't give a shit about their product, its just something to throw USBP off at the boarder while the profit making substances make it through and fuck up our youth.

Now on to the seeds...Grow em. You may find something special in there. It also tells you a lot about what kind of weed they are growing. You may get lucky and he might be one of those dudes still growing the "landrace" mexican strains from back in the 70s. Never hurts to try. I'd be interested in seeing what they produce. :)

The commercial growers have added outside genetics to improve quality, but living in an area where shit brick weed is so prevalent, I would say that the native mexican genetics eventually takes back over again.

Yes they will be poped here very shortly, I'm Gona set them in the back and to one side of my light ( my kiddie 400) and see what comes of it I'm very intrested in seeing what is behind these beans, and will do a grow journal of them, I'm praying to the ganja gods that they are
Long flower type I smoked as a teenager everything I have besides my sky walker are 7/8 weekers and just get me stupid high super lazy.. A land race atleast to me ment one strain
That has been grown for 100s if not 1000s of years in that said region may it be Asia Middle East Africa etc. and for the most part in not touched by any onther pollen beside its own .
But my definition could be completely off of the actual meaning..
I just want to feel the high I did as a youngster with out paying thru ass and take the risk of not receiving them or them being crushed ect.

fuck those kids joe, it was the same way 10 years ago and it will be the same 10 years from now. some n00b who reads a couple of high times thinks they are masters of weed growing. same type of cats who post their first thread going, "how much yield can i get from 5000watts in a 8x12 room, and which strain has the most molecules?"

i also don't know what mexican weed he has but almost everytime i pop a bean its sativa. got one now flowered at 4 inches, i need to take 2 pictures just to get it all in the frame.

Ha ha ha most molecules that's funny naw I never sweat ass holes sometimes may be lil to quick to say fuck off but I'm working on that lol..

joe watt,

grow them seeds man.

pop 'em, select the best looking and best smelling from the bunch, the vigorous plants, whether male or female, keep them both; and make some seeds with them.

then, pop the resulting seeds, and start looking for phenotypes you like, take a couple of clones from each, label each source plant and each clone, then flower the plants from which you took the clones from; dry and cure the herb, smoke it :joint: :D and then decide which ones you liked best, which ones you'd like to grow again; and go get the clones/cuttings you took (that were properly labelled), and there you have it, you found a 'keeper', you can keep looking with other seeds, or make another generation of seed from the first batch you made, and select different phenos and repeat...

good luck!

peace

The best brickweed seeds I ever found came from an oz of disgusting, black, seeded up horrible pot.I was out of weed at the time and smoked a friendly bowl with the guy who had it.I was absolutely stoned to the bone and ended up with a huge hangover.I realized something that wrecked me up so badly must have been good straight off the branch.I took the seeds we culled from the oz and grew them inside that winter. We ended up with 9ft plants that smelled like a freshly crushed orange.Beautifull, long semi tight buds.I used the males to cross up with my Sensi hashplant cut(it was 1990).The hybrids came out fantastic even though the brick seedstock was only middle of the road potent.I BX'd to the hashplant cut and saved the Hashplants because I was ruining them via inbreeding.I grew those BX seeds right through the 90's.The only place to find a decent seed back then was at a Cal or Co dead show, trading for weed. After Green Merchant we were all hiding wayyy underground!:)

It might end up being a really nice sativa strain. But if he is the Cartel type those organizations dont care at all about preserving landraces they are in it for the money.I am mexican and have lots of family there.I know most stuff getting exported nowadays is not landraces.most of it isnt even mature or cured properly.i hope u find an electric sativa good luck

Talk to me about Guerreo. My favorite grow / smoke from the 1970's was my Maui Wowie homegrown, Nepalese charas second, and from commerically available- Highland Mexican was third, Michoacan, Highland Oaxacan gold, Guerrera, and Acapolco Gold. For me Colombian gold was similar to the elite Mexican strains. The 1975 Red Colombian and 1975 Panama Red was good smoke, but too stony for my tastes.

Highland Thai / Meo Thai (Thai sticks were good, but seemed expensive for their potency and high compared to the Highland Mexican. Thai stick was almost too clear, but the Mexicans' had similar clarity in the front of the brain along with heighten sensory awareness, ie euphoria. The Highland Oaxacan Gold stimulated that front part of the brain more than other elites. Most people didn't get it, but the Highland Oaxacan Gold was golden, not strong or stony by Colombian Red or Panama Red standards.

Many of the tropicals from Laos,Cambodia, Burma were strong and psychedelic, but some made you feel weird, racey, anxious,or paranoid sometimes, sometimes clear. Psychodelic was not knowing what was next, racey or clear.

no thanks, if you stimulate your brain too much, it can get weird, racey, or clear, especially, if you start believing your thoughts under the influence of marijuana.

The Mexican elites while not as strong or psychedelic as tropical sativa, felt natural and grounded without the paranoia and anxiety of the tropicals. Life's is too short to smoke marijuana for anxious, paranoid, or sleepy sensations.

In search of the spiritual high, keeping it legal in sunny Colorado, peace.

Paisas are str8 gangster...They grow outdoors everywhere all over the U.S. and use the same genetics everyone else grows...Blue Dream...OG...Etc

Mexicans in Mexico stopped growing 12+week sativa landrace strains a long time ago...they've moved onto the Dutch genetics with much faster flowering times....

Its funny how you call their weed shit....they'd laugh at your cute 400 watt light and show a 1000 racks from just one of many outdoor locations...young Kids are so stupid

This may be true, but it doesn't change the fact that 98% of the brick that comes across the border is very, very low grade stuff these days. Even if it originally came from decent genetic stock, the stuff ends up as a dry, brown hockey puck full of seeds and stems often with mold and or 3rd world pesticides all over it.

Having said this, some of the best stuff I ever tried was some homegrown from a couple of decades ago that started its life as a seed from some top shelf mexican brick.

If we think about it at all, travelers of various sorts have always carried seeds to and fro with them. Crusaders brought back several species previously unknown to Europe. Conquistadores carried a wide variety of seeds back & forth across the Atlantic. New World cannabis was apparently introduced by Europeans. The Muslim conquests brought it to Morocco. On and on from there, with slow motion mixing of genetics occurring for probably thousands of years. That just happens faster in the modern world.

Of course cash crop farmers in Mexico & elsewhere want better strains, strains to suit their purposes better than what they've been growing. When the DEA sponsors crackdowns in various places, they discourage the growing of longer flowering varieties. Farmers who can get them grow shorter flowering seeds out of self defense, out of necessity, because they need that cash crop to provide for their families. It's why they grow opium, coca, & somali/ethiopian khat, too. The fact that they're all illegal where the demand exists is the only reason it's profitable at all.

commercial VS non-commercial stock

commercial VS non-commercial stock

Highs

first of all, i wanna tell all of you, that you should not get annoyed for words,...words are taken away by simple wind blow... you have this stupid reputy of fighting for everything and everywere inside and abroad YOUR land.... as the silver beatles one said; "life is very short, and there´s no time..."

well, my 5cents;
one thing is the weed for "commercial" market (your homeland, you, the US) and another is local semi-market(illegal as well)
so, if you want good weed, you aint gonna pay $100 for a barely compact, bad looking medium potency weed, right?????
NARCOS (drug smugglers) have been bought dutch and now canadian seeds, in order to get it in less time space and of course, to get bigger harvests..... remember the tolerance factor...the more you smoke, the more you´ll need (quantity and potency), so, maybe you are guilty of this new phenomena in mexican traditional drug smuggling to the biggest drug consumer in the world....

of course there´s always people trying to make money, but we, the common citizens have nothing to do against them... as i said, if this industry had no big profit, our governments (mex-usa) had already legalized it....or had never satanized-illegalized it

in synthesis, if you want the real deal, you have to avoid "commercial" "brick" weed... if you are very interested, you should look for "local weed market"... buying little quantities,...
you should take a little trip to my dear homeland, BUT, you have to remember the "illegal" status of weed in mexico; THUS, is better to make good friends BEFORE trying to get something illegal in a foreign country.... simple common sense.

just like you use to say "respect".... respects who respect you, ignore the dogs barking, let´s show who the men of the 21st century are. :dance013::dance013::dance013:

:thank you:

indeed... such dutch and canadian strains so acustomed to every sort of care, nuts, good lights, etc, get really shocked when the "narcos" grow em under full sierra sun..... the results are, weird weed, and some nice genetics.... survival treats/genes get more evident within next generations.....
still good weed, not for the connosieur nor the puritanical home genetists like me..jijijijijii...
but as i said, there is still a lot of good old school genetics... most of them are among indigenous people all over mexico.... jut a little tip.

stay cool!!!
