amsterdam is nothing but an expensive novelty. around here any tourist or stranger can walk down the street and ask people for weed and within asking a few people find weed that would destroy the best smoke in any coffeeshop in the dam... and its MUCH cheaper too with none of the bullshit attitude from underpaid coffeeshop budtenders. ive enjoyed my trips ... but i bring my own supply because the quality and general lack of care/respect/knowledge that surrounds the weed scene out there is atrocious

With every trip it got worse & worse for high street bud...(everybody knows this about Amsterdam).

OK so I've been to all of Dams coffee shops, but I couldn't get 1 person to sell me anything Great... over the last 5 years at least.
NOT saying someone somewhere doesnt have dank for sale... I'm just saying FEW & far between... My idea of dank, is something similar to what I have grown myself... The buds for sale in Dams coffee shops are over-handled scraps... Even the coffee shop staff are overwhelmed when some uber dank is being smoked in the shop... trust me.

This is the translation of a letter sent to the coffeeshop unions in the Netherlands, I am proud to translate this good news....

Dear folks,

The big news today is that the new Tolerance Policy will become active from July 1, 2011, and will be valid until June 30 2015(!). The AHOJG criteria are already avaiable onwww.openbaarministerie.nl The good news is not much is going to change.

The most important conclusion is that the AHOJG crtieria have not been complemented with the Weedpass and the Distance Criteria. Nothing changes in this area.

The announced additions will not be part of the national regulations for coffeeshops.

This means that all the evil measurements from The Hague, including weedpass and distance criteria, can only be implemented on a local level. This means the weedpass and the distance criteria will probably not make it in Amsterdam. These announced measurements, that would lead to a coffeeshop wipe-out in Amsterdam, can only be implemented through local legislation by the City Council.

The City Council already spoke out against the weedpass and the distance criteria, like the Mayor, who will be held to execute and maintain the new Tolerance rulebook. This is also included in the Opiumlaw art. 31b.

Especially the long term of the new Tolerance regulations stands out, 4 years going! This is a first, and appears to be a signal that The Hague decided that de introduction of the weedpass and the new distance criteria and everything else Justice Minister Opstelten comes up with is to be decided on by individual City Councils. The City Council has toe execute or deny new measurements. The Mayor has to uphold the rules in the end.

This means in Amsterdam there will be no mayor changes.

The 5 plant rule stays intact.

Yeah I read that aswell, but I dont trust this current Cabinet and the plans that they have.
If Amsterdam doesnt get the Weedpass, there might be a crackdown on that 15% THC rule. And if they make sure that coffeeshops aren't able to legally test cannabis on the THC content, then its completely game over!

Yeah. Well, most customers are not connoseurs but rather kids used to smoking low quality hash / brick who think anything they smoke there is OMG TEH BEST WEED EVER! But there's still decent stuff to be found, I've had some good weed (and yes, lots and lots of crappy stuff too, of course) every time I've been to Dam.

IMO, there are places in Holland that have both decent weed and nice laid back atmosphere. I myself like Tilburg. Amsterdam is a curiosity nowadays, it's fun to spend like one night there and then head to some more chilled out place to enjoy good food, dutch atmosphere and some nice smoke

The full report, which I read and promptly lost, had the THC in 'Dam decreasing to 17% and US levels increasing to 10% ..... which confirms what I found out from experience, US weed is pretty mild compared to what I smoke at home in the UK

The report gave no sources for the test results, so it's all up for debate

they used to test in this way.

just took a sample from the weed, including stem and leaves.

and then measured the thc level out of the whole mass.

so, maybe 1-5% thc in the whole plantmatter tested.

now.

they test the thc out of all the cannabinoids present, they dont include the plantmatter as previously.

so 17% thc out of all the cannabinoids. not out of the whole plant.

instead of saying, the plant has 1% thc , they are now saying, all the crystals on your plant, contain 17% thc.


thats why the level of thc has gone up,not because the strains of today are any stronger. (apparantly arjan introduced this method or i do think i remember him saying that in a article somewhere)

actually some of the 60´s and 70´s weed would test stronger on today´s test than the strongest weed out there now..

so.. this is a joke from beginning to end.

meaning that amsterdam will from now on only have mediocre pot (if they can enforce this)

and no true medicinal strains (or fewer of them anyway, strength of thc is no guarantee for a good smoke (though a pretty good indicator )

more potent strains = less tokes needed

Okay let me be the first to say on this thread that I think the numbers are so full of shit that they stick on bud. We had a club here in BC that had a so-called famous Dr. handing out numbers for buds with his Spectrometer lol lol lol... He gave out numbers like 24% ect.. So yeah I bought that so-called strong bud and what bullshit that was. When I told the club this is just pure bullshit they just didn't believe me until they had the numbers checked themselves. It's easier to try and tell ppl what they want to hear then the actual truth about things. I have not had high numbers from a club ever NOT EVER lol.. There are many numbers but the ones you need to be concerned about are these three main ones and these are the ones you should work within,,
