I finally got around to growin it and tryin it. Thought the quality ie-resin was excellent but the hermies was a no go for me. Wont grow it again unless isolated for that reason.
GG is hermi prone?

Also news to me, but I've only had this 2 years now. I haven't had a GG#4 go hermi on me yet. It spread as a clone only strain, so if it was prone to hermi I would think it would be way more wide spread since we all share the same genetics basically. If you are growing GG#4 seeds, well that's all on the breeder responsible for those, but if you are getting a bunch of cloned hermi GG#4 I would lay the blame on the environment, not the genetics. After growing it for about 7 years i was asking myself the same thing.
It has been stress tested many times without issue. An odd banana late in flower, sure, but not a dealbreaker.
GG#4 is the only clone i've ever payed for and has been worth every cent.
Still about 50% of what i grow even though i don't care for it, everyone else loves it.
I knew this going into growin her but wanted to see the quality of the bud.
According to legend, the whole seedy situation started one day when breeder Grizz entered his garden and found that some of his Chem Sis had hermied and pollinated some neighboring Sour Dub plants. Frustrated, Grizz threw the strain away completely. Luckily, a fellow grow friend of Whales named Mardogg held onto some of the seeds; seizing the opportunity to turn lemons into lemonae. Mardogg later planted these seeds and the result was Original Glue pheno’s #1,2 and 4 (#3 was stunted and dumped). In the end it was only #4 that became the chosen Gorilla and she went on to win the cup.
GG4evvvah!! Never had any hermi problems. Stankiest n stickiest strain I've ever had pleasure of growing.
Dj short blueberry is the only strain I enjoy more but that's just my bias because it won my heart many moons ago.
Danks again Joesy!!

nearly right.
it was the choc thai bud that got seeded by chems sis/dub.
this seeded bud ended up with Mardog,
the rest is history.
rip mardog.
I got this from what I consider a longtime grower and medical grower in a legal state. We all know strains get mis represented and as a cut of this fame grows is it possible somewhere upstream someone got greedy and sold something close but not the actual strain. Everyone knows this. So Im going to go ahead on faith this is a legit cut but shit happens. This may end up being the best strain I have ever grown. Hope so.Also news to me, but I've only had this 2 years now. Hey man thanks ! I actually let my GB mom go. I liked it but it just didnt have the WOW factor I had hoped. I still have some seeds left though and may come back around to them at some point. Could have been the limited number I grew looking for a mom. Doing a pheno hunt in a small space is a disadvantage obviously. Its why I want to acquire known cuts to save myself time and grow space. I wish I had the room to grow in several rooms or tents at once, dont we all. Hell I enjoy growing more than smoking in a lot of ways.Yo Stewart! Thought I recognized you from the Gorilla Bubble forum!
You are in for a treat with the gg4 clone. Forget all these naysayers, GG4 is great. Yields well, is not fussy, and consistency gives you top shelf product. She can get nanners but only if you are really pushing her, I never had any when I was growing her. She seems to really shine in an organic set up, but as long as you know what you're doing she should give you some excellent quality, and from what I recall you know what you're doing. Though, you may not be as surprised with what you get since you had a nice cut from one of the gorilla bubble releases, and Tony and Dan did a really great job at picking the outcross. I think while the gg4 is a little more potent, the Gorilla Bubble keeps a lot of the potency and flavor. This is gonna sound crazy, but I actually prefer the Gorilla Bubble for long term smoke as I like the flavor it gets when curing, and I'm not actually the biggest fan of cured gg4, I prefer it fresh when it still has that intense chemdog flavor on the front end followed by that insane sour dubb flavor on the backend. The chem flavor seems to fade after a cure.
I managed to lose my gg4 cut while still having by gorilla bubble cut, and I am hoping to get another gg4 cut again, so I think that tells you how good she is.
Just another point: all my friend thought gg4 was best of what was around when I was growing her. They love the gorilla bubble too but the raw potency and godly flavor of gg4 is something to behold.
