IP Address Monitoring

Wheres chicken little when you need him? Most of you seem like this stuff is a commonplace happening and its just a matter of time before your IP address links you to a weed site and you get busted.

Maybe you all should take a breather and count how many people and grows have been busted using anonymous postings to weed websites. Then consider all the legit medical growers out there that could be posting within 100% of the law and you end up with a scenario that doesnt appear as if its ever going to happen. Extra bonus if you think your big-time enough to be the first one busted in that manner as well.

Then if your paranoia is still persistent you might want to brush up on the laws governing using pictures for evidence in court. In the US unless you have an affidavit of the person who took the original pictures you cant use them in court. This is moot since you also have your 5th amendment rights not to incriminate yourself.

Millions of people visit and post at weed themed websites and if there was any need to take more caution than not posting obvious personal information we would have all heard about it by now when there would be plenty of evidence in court records to indicate where the states attny are basing their charges on.

It would also be silly to assume they [ read as your own govt ] havent already discussed the logistics of going after pot growers en masse with all the info they have mined from various sources. The fact they havent already would strongly indicate that none of the govts are capable of dealing that kind of justice without suffering complete failure and lack of public support.

Screw Worrying About You IP Address! "EXIF JPG Info Danger"

Screw Worrying About You IP Address! "EXIF JPG Info Danger"

Stripping/Editing EXIF info from JPEGS To Remove Hidden Location Where ANY JPEG Photo Was Taken With Out Removing This Information From Your JPG's, The LEO's Can Tell You, When Photo Was Taken,

And Even Worse The "GPS Location" Of Where The JPEG Photo Was Taken!!

I don't know if I am being overly paranoid, but I have started removing the EXIF
(Exchangeable Image File Format) data from JPEGs before posting them online.
EXIF Is Where The LEO's Can Find Out "When & Where" a JPG Photo Was Taken.
Which Is Very Bad News If You Should Say, Take Some Photo's Of Your Grow Op :(

Here is some info on EXIF: Exchangeable image file format - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In theory, LEO could use the data to cause us harm.

Here is a program called J-Strip that removes this data. If nothing else, it saves space by making your JPEG file slightly smaller:
Download jStrip 3.3 Build 00305 - Reduce the file size of JPEG images without sacrificing image quality - Softpedia
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Digital-Photo-Tools/jStrip.shtml
And, it is freeware.

Well, I've played around a little with J-Strip and it works very nicely. It gives a log that shows what has been done to the JPEGS. Here is a sample-----------------------------------------------------------------

I agree with you that the "Meth Epidemic" is a Major Problem Everywhere!

Just Like "Crack Cocaine" Is.

& I just wish that they would spend "ALL Their Time & Resoruses" on Going after these Meth Heads & Their Very "Explosive Labs" & Dangerous Vapors From The Labs.

& Leave This "God Made Merical Medicine" ALONE! :(

But That Would Make "Too Much Common Sense For Them" To Do That

Chris/OLP

No it would make them less $, see those same .Gov agencies sworn to stop the influx of drugs are the ones allowing the illegals across the border with their dirty and deadly drugs.

On top of that the big manufacturers of Methamphetamine and "Crack" Cocaine are nothing short of CIA and DEA fronts to make up for the hemorrhaging financially our country has been going through since the 1930's, this is the real reason the war on drugs was created, and this is the reason their is going to be legalization soon, but only if they get to choose who makes it.

I just wonder how Tor falls under the Patriot Act.

The USA PATRIOT Act which is an acronym for "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism" :moon: is so broad that any use of anything that anybody does that is remotely, or in pure fabrication, is considered a "terrorist act", such as the use of Tor, con be compelling evidence that you are a terrorist.

Allowing? Interesting perspective but go on...

D0od, do not post when delirious. :thank you:

As a rather major "player" in Iran-Contra, I can tell you, then and now, the civilian and military intelligence agencies are involved in making large amounts of money in drug trafficing. Google "Bear Bottoms", "Mena" or "Barry Seal" for convincing proofs. People I worked with.

WTS, drug trafficking supports illegal and covert activities of these agencies not the USGov budget deficits. This trafficing has little to do with Nixon's "War On Drugs" which was Nixon attempting to fulfill his pre-election promises to conservative America to be a crime fighter and liberal (hippie) regulator. That's how he got elected.

Since the states at that time had the legal authority regarding the prosecution and incarceration of drug offenders, Nixon had to create Federal controls (DEA, Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970) which were thinly disguised continuations of drug prohibition policies that dated back to 1910ish.

Drug prohibitions are about corporate market shares, losing tobacco, alcohol and other consumer dollars. These same corporations who have tons of money and land to get into the pot business recognize that they may gain new consumers but it may cost them scads of existing, loyal consumers who are marijuana's fervent enemies. The Christian Right comes to mind.

The subject is complex but what it is...is not a simple "CIA consipracy" as you put forth.

Peace.
Love.
Dope.

I wasn't going to spend much time in this old thread, but had to stop and say thank you for providing a TOR exit node. The network and its operation does seem quite a bit better, smoother, and faster than it was years ago.

Just assume they know every single thing everyone has ever done online. It's a question of whether they will crack down on every human being in the future or if freedom will grow.
