Inverse's First Grow

i was goin to say N def but the burning and spots makes me think a cal or a mag defbut i am no the guy to ask for a 100% answer check out total guide to sick plants
its a thread on the forums somewhere.

today i fed them all double strength grow big and half strength big bloom. i don't think itll burn em, they need the nutes badly! thanks for all the responses! i was hella paranoid thinking they had some sort of disease =/

i'll pick up some calmag as soon as i can and also perhaps some epsom. thanks

If you get Cal-Mag you dont need epsom.

if you read my thread through you'll notice i talked about a purple my friend gave me which was in dire need of some tlc. i havnt mentioned it since...

i wanted to throw my bigger babies into flower today but i still havnt worked out how im goign to lightproof my closet. it has fans that open out into the room. any suggestions of things i could put over the fans to stop light from coming in, but which wouldnt really hurt my ventilation?

hey inverse, i just went through a similar thing on my first grow:







i started a thread in the infirmary... after much debate by the experienced guys, it turned out that i had nute deficiencies for sure, but not because of my ppm or choice of fertilizer. it was overwatering. the roots can't use any of the nutes if the soil isn't adequately drying out. once i figured out the watering, and put a small amount of grow fertilizer along with the bloom fert for girls in bloom things cleared up. if you have time here's the link:

and a link to a thread by 10k on a good method for knowing when to water: Lift the pot method

i just went through it, and it sucks, so hopefully this will help. peace and love!

thanks for the kind words and that great resource thread. ill be sure to check it out! i dont think i have overwatering though, as i only water maybe once every 6 days. however, overwatering was a big problem i faced my first few weeks. however, i need all the info i can get, so ima read up on your thread!

right on. probably just the nit and mag def then like was mentioned.

anyway, those are some beautiful looking dark green plants, i forgot to say... (the pics that didn't have yellow of course lol) nice work. hope california is treating you well. i lived in the santa cruz area for three years before moving out of state this summer. definitely miss the distributaries. haha

today i picked up some cal-mag

i also picked up some serenade ( :jawdrop: ) because ive noticed spots of powdery mildew on the bottom leaves of several of my plants. room humidity is 50% and theres good airflow so i really cant figure out WHY i am encountering this problem. perhaps it has to do with the old ass carpet which covers all of the floors in my apartment...theres bound to be mold and wahtnot there. however, the conditions do not seem ripe for mildew to be showing up so this is a bit of a ?. anyways, ill treat with serenade, vacuum the shit out of my room adjacent to the closet, and hope for the best


also, today is special because im throwing my big girls into 12/12. it was about time, especially because my ak was already starting to form buds? anyways! i think ill be switching them back under the 600 soon.

no pics this update. want to get up that anticipation

in other news, i'm running 1 600w hps and now a 400w hps in my narrow, 8X2 closet. hope for some nice yields

it gets up to 84 degrees in my closet with 1,000 watts running. Is this enough to negatively affect the yield, or is 81-84 an okay range?

my grow is coming along well. yesterday i transplanted my 3 oldest plants into 5 gal pots. Silly me, i was wondering, with the full strength big bloom i was giving my plants, why they were still lightly yellowing. I didn't realize that big bloom is more of a supplement meant to be used with tiger bloom...so i bought some tiger bloom yesterday and am looking forward to some good growth

went home for thanksgiving. when i came back one of my northern lights was completely wilting and riddled with powdery mildew. i cleaned her up a bit, and took some pics of my better looking plants. my northern lights all are pretty slow with the bud development, and with one feeding of tiger bloom my yellow, feeble og kush looks dark green again in the new leaves.
