Inspirational Hash Shots, please put yours here. ( TRIBUTE TO OG)

i think it's from pressing before it's properly dry. Pretty sure that's what some of the more experienced guys said and i had some myself with beautiful swirls but crystallized on me as it was obviously still dampo before i pressed it

It happens to my hash (the marbling) when I mix the different micron sizes to make full spectrum balls. But that said, I'm sure the same effect could be achieved by pressing before properly dry :)

May well be.

I have a habit of pulling samples near the end of drying and tend to start processing after it stops sizzling. A bit longer these days and I break up with a strainer.

Except last nights fresh frozen, it was abominably sticky. I let it wick too long but also doubt how workable it was straight from the bag.

Is it okay???? Help hash masters!

Is it okay???? Help hash masters!

I'm trying to do the dry ice method for hash I was just going to use all my shake off the bottom of a gallon ziplock that I had some GDP in and the other bag with yager OG i only have an ounce total just trying to find out a couple things before I do it!

1. Is it okay to use the shake when using dry ice method?

2. How much dry ice do I have to use for this small amount?

3. What size micron bag should I use or is there a tip or trick to where I don't have to go buy the bags?

4. After I get my golden goodness can't I use the left overs for edibles after? Don't want to waste!!

A 10ml jar of trichomes and other particulates (mostly 'chomes though)

I would also like to add that I'm trying out calling them "'chomes" instead of "trichs", as you may have noticed.
If it catches on I stand to make a small fortune on hashtag royalties, just got to wait a little while for the dough to start rolling in.

1) Yes, shake, trim etc are great for any type of dry sifting.
2) A couple of crushed handfuls will be plenty
3) I've used 125 and 160, most prefer 160 ~ 220 micron. Check out Bubbleman's bags if you want a set of the best and these can be used for ice water hash making and dry ice sifting..or just check out online for "mesh bags".
4)If you are dry ice sifting, your "goodness" will be more likely golden with a strong hint of green, so use a gentle action (unlike every dry icer on youtube!), ...also remove the big chunks of dry ice before sifting and don't shake the bag vigorously over a glass table from 3 or 4 feet in the air lol...unless you want trichome encrusted carpets.
4) You can run the sifted material through a set of Bubblebags, chemical extraction, cook with it etc....but I find it's only worth doing that if the material has been very gently sifted for a very short duration and still has some trichomes on the material, but the few times I've used dry ice, it stripped most of the resin heads off the material ...they say that dry sifting only gets about half the THC, but my experience differs, I've tried smoking sifted material and I just don't catch a buzz off it, tried ice water with Bubblebags and the returns were tiny. though, when I sift, my aim is maximum yield, so it's mostly stripped bare. I've also done alcohol extractions on sifted material and the tiny amount I got was not worth the work getting it.

Do some reading here on ICmag, search dry ice threads, search some of my posts and watch some you tube for some tips too...happy hashing

If one does make oil with the leftovers all of your particulates have been sifted off so one can get really nice clear oil with much less effort.
You clearly get much better returns on your sifting than I do because I generally yield about 10%-15% oil from my sifted bud. I do my sifting inside a -30ºF freezer rather than using dry ice, so thats probably part of the difference.

here is some dry sift I did from sdkush popcorn... I used a bottle with warm water in it to mash/roll/work it together... the end result is good... it bubbles when lite, just not as good as I remember hash from the 60's/70's... next up I have 1 1/2oz's of ace's golden tiger bud... not overly impressed with the weed (will run it again, to try and dial in), so plan on making it into hash... not sure whether i'll dry sift or use my bubble bags...
