(In your opinion)Is growing weed for profit even worth it anymore?

When I was a kid, if your sales went down, it was because someone was working your turf. So you went hunting and got rid of the vermin and took over his turf in the process. But deciding one day to put out a couple hundred extra pounds of weed or hash on the street could get you shot. Dangerous time they were.

Today I only do wholesale, but only because he's a childhood friend with international connections. If he dies of old age, and he's almost there, I'm out of business. That's why I'm thinking of moving into distillates for the medical industry. But that could get dangerous too if "the boys" decide to go legit. Or legitish. lol

Lot's of guys don't like the weed biz cause it's slow. Ton's of slow smokers out there. So they are into crack.

I am not far south of the border at all. Big ol lake erie and the coast guard. I am not allowed in Canada.

Plus lot's of people do not have large cash reserves for weed. Like I said it can be hard to move. So much comes from cali or out west anymore. Then the occasional grow locally in the state. There was some sort of family massacre where they were growing. That was more down south.

Mexicans move shit weed mostly. Black guys won't like you. But they can move a lot quickly and like idiots. Then all the white guys got no cash, or not much of it.

I hate to say it..its a horrible addictive drug..and I would never even think abput growing it for money but the next undergorund crop is going to be opium poppies. And indoor growers will find a way to grow them with a high return on opium gum to where a few lights in a basement will yeild alot. Watch.

No, the answer to original question is no...

I'm getting along in years, and ya. It's still worth it. It gets me out in the bush I love, gives me plenty of exercise, and pays me six digits. Why isn't it worth it? I'd still do it if I only got 500/lb. With the genetics and tools we have today, it's easy as pie to pump out 100 pounds by yourself. At least in my neck of the woods.

Good outdoor will take over indoor as we progress towards legalization. Falling prices will dictste it. When bud hits below 2 or 3 hundred a pound (it will..just gonna take some time)..it wont be worth turning onna grow light. Even highly efficient ones like LED. High efficiency under total artificial light and air conditioning is only staving off the inevitable.

Not enough hiding spots around here. They find one they fly the chopper looking for more. Or even so much as a strong rumor.

Plus it's hard to sneak around. Lot's of trail cams. People in general that would notice someone at night and cause an investigation very quickly. There is some nice land for sale that is zoned kndustrial. Knowing my luck they would bulldoze it after sale and plants. Plus it's hard to sneak around in the city.

Country boys have it a bit easier but get greedy.

Great outdoor is shitty indoor. Supplemental lighting in GH's is the inbetween.

No ones growing opium here. It takes acres, and you'd be fighting an uphill battle against growers in traditional cultivation areas producing more for a fraction of the price.

Them's fightin' words.

Honestly, I've had crap indoor, and great outdoor. I suspect it's all in the curing.

Opium sticks out like a sore thumb up close or when flowering. Low smell or at least pleasent to most people. Gives me wicked dreams. Hard core felony too.

Saw a vid of a candian opium field. They said people dry harvest and chop up for tea. Unless someone refines it. Ohio just ranked #2 in national overdose statistics. People don't understand their mind. Opium is visionary. More so than cannabis. That's to be respected.

I grew a small amount poppies once and not everybody is into growing for $$$.

Regarding traditional areas. I give it 5 years and some big company will try to contract Cannabis growing in a Third World country and flood the market. Then all the people growing indoors will lose their shirts. If places like Pakistan. Lebanon or Afghanistan got into hashish production under the auspices of the UN. Who in North America will be able to compete with them for the hashish or extract business? By then you won't be able to give away your bubblebags.

It would be smart if greenhouses here worked on import from tropical countries and only grew crops when you have suitable light, no supplemental nothing, grow when heat demand isn't greatest harvest with high light levels and import during colder months, save a ton cash, have high quality product with low input, that would be the ideal set up in my opinion, let them do seed runs in small greenhouses or compartments here where the extra inputs are needed for high quality and bio secure seeds and walk away laughing.

Already happening, as it happened in the 70's when BOEL and others secured contracts overseas.

Fields of outdoor are ideal for extraction. It is happening down south. Bit too variable for regular flower production and the hard flip of light cycles indoor or in a hybrid produce a product more appealing to Joe Smoker.

I dunno about that, nostalgia can be what it is but it aint enough for me to pretend that some hand rubbed traditional hash run through the filthy hands of how many cave dwellers is ever going to compare to what's being done now as cleanly as it is in whatever traditional style you choose.

But plenty do grow poppies here n whytf not when it aint illegal n I have no need for doctors or their pills until something actually serious comes up just by tossin some seed around every season n showing up for harvest.
Not like they need anything else though I doubt that'll take any sort of place of the weed market it's a different kind of person looking for those goods separately for the most part but mushrooms sure are making a up tick in the market place imo n works great using weed as currency. :)

I am not suggesting the nostalgia aspect at all, merely a cheap source of cannabinoids to feed the machine.

Even with the campaigning by Frenchy and Co., the majority of concentrates are highly refined.

nah, I was mentioning that because of trouts comments about traditional stuff over taking the market but there's no real need for it cause that stuff can all be imitated with cleaner product and processes here n already is.
There's already numerous ppl looking into the production out sourcing n importing the extract for fuck all.
Spain n Uruguay are 2 places I know ppl are looking at but needs to be more tropical environments allowed, we might be a step or 2 ahead of the rest of the world though for now.
More countries need to strt telling the UN n US to fuck off n do the same even if only to boost their economies it makes sense all over.
Meh, still a golden age, :) n could always be worse,... could be American. lol

Most 'cool' things to grow are highly illegal where I am. But I also get concerned about a possible war scenario where there are no painkillers. That or how the establishment holds us hostage to our own pain.

There is an excellent agriculture research center in our area. I'm sure they could grow out poppies if there was an issue. Can't lace them outdoors here either. It's been dry enough around lacing time, but never know about some rain.

I guess we all get frustrated with established egos. Either the drug dealer or the man. Pain is an easy way we get extorted. Not that drugs cannot cause pain, in terms of addiction. But I never understood the reasoning behind a totally sober life. Like sobriety is the modern opiate. Very mainstream. Yet they wanna put people on tons of pharmaceuticals. You won't know you screwed up but you are.

I cannot either understand a "sober" life. And sometimes...In my wandering mind field...I catch myself wondering how much entrenched (by birth and growing up actually) Iam & how important drugs are to me and mine. My real dad was never around until my early teens..and he got sober. And before that I grew up around a one percenter motorcycle club. Back in the 70's & early 80's. My mom second married an ole one percent hard core nomad that pretty much raised me. He bought me my first grow light when I was 15. A 175 watt Hydrofarm Sunburst. Stepped over bikers and beer cans on hungover Mondays to get to school growing up. With Steppenwolf records skipping on the turn table (Iam not kidding..this is literally the truth). Often times riding on the back of my step dads chopper to make class because I missed the bus. He wasn't drug dealer type like his other Brothers in tje club. He worked at Pontiac Truck & Bus. But anywAys. Hes dead now. Been dead. A hard core life. My real dad past as well a few years back. Moms pretty much sober now. But wow. I just really started lately to realize how much "drugs" are so "in there" with me and my people's .

Much the same with me, only I never liked getting stoned (just a nice little high). If I drank more than one beer, I'd puke my brains out, so drinking was out of the question. The upside is that I kept my friends alive and cops always let me go leaving a bar and driving home with the boys passed out in the car. Another bonus for me was that I never lost a bar fight, and if the cops showed up, never went to jail. Woot! lol.

I don't mess with bars. Too many people there to not have a good time. Some really butch lesbian went off on me about some sort of college funding. I was just interested in the girl from india. Then on my birthday some dude bought me some shots then said it was his birthday and wanted me to buy him drinks. I think he pushed me off my stool when my people were trying to get me laid with some fairly cute college girl. The guy got beat by a recon marine who then got all depressed. By a pool stick. Giess the cops came and that was fairly usual for that bar. That's why I liked weed. It let me get into touch ith my spirit being sad. But weed makes shadow work kinda difficult due to stress and hormones.
