In Spain...autos are real popular. Ive never fucked with em myself. Dont see the point indoors. And outdoors..I can wait till October. Its fun for me.

I have 3 ig accounts. Kim kardasian, stitches and calioutdoor.

Depending on your work schedule light dep is still possible. Pulling tarp is a lot easier and quicker then physically moving each plant like I did. If you go to work when it's still dark or get home after sunset then it's really easy.

Auto's and fems. All these fly by night "breeders" will have a sustainable business model for a year or so before the weak masses discover what a pain in the ass growing can be.

Bingo. And if that doesn't work, wait until they get a whiff of a plant in full flowering mode. The wife will make him rip it out of the ground. lol

I have a huge vegetable garden. People come over and say "wow, I wish I could do that". When I tell them how, they just say "Oh that's too much work." So I hand them a bag of fresh veggies and they're on their way. lol

As for answering "Is growing weed for profit even worth it anymore?"

All these people stomping their feet and kicking grass sound like a bunch of kids throwing a shitfit because dad wouldn't give them $20.

So you only get 1k/lbs. Cry me a river. Want to make 1.5 or even 2? Quit growing garbage. Dump the Mendo Dope 4kg monster plants and go for quality 30% thc. If you have a boss product, then hand out samples (like we used to do in the 70s). A buddy did that this fall and sold everything the next day to the same guy. Now that's dope.

Another way to make good money is to start making RS Oil and Moonrocks. On the other side of the coin, and with all the fuss about the medicinal value percolating into the general public, I'm predicting very high cbd and low to moderate thc crops will be a great money maker from the health conscious folk.

Now I'll wait for someone to say "Oh that's too much work." Sheesh!

In an odd way the realization that it takes a lot of work, time, experience and patience to grow a great end product will be what allows those with a great and/or unique product to charge a premium for it. You need people to say, screw this, I'll just buy it. I think flavour and scent will be big factors. I hang out with quite a few home brewers and die hard craft beer snobs/afficianados and flavours and nose are a big deal in that crowd. And those will be the people willing to spend more for a higher end product. (I drink my 10 dollar or less six packs in secret on the disc golf course where they belong). And this type of consumer will also be likely to spend more on say a full blooded sativa that takes 14 or more weeks to flower and may not have the bag appeal of chunkier commercial cut. The tax free income gravy train has been pulling into reality and competition station for a few years now, but exceptional, unique or value added products will still command a higher price for the person that produces them.

To be honest, it's not a whole lot of work if you prepare things, preparation is the most time consuming part, takes up a good chunk of your resources but it is a lot of fun especially at the end for what you get out of it weather i's herbs, vegetables, trees, fruits etc. If I know I can buy a good product for someone who put in a lot of effort, a variety that I want to try, maybe grow, I would pay top dollar for it even if I grew myself, the reason is maybe they grew something that I can't get, haven't tried before or I just want for special occasion, gift for a friend whatever so if I want the best I have to pony up, same as growing any crop.

I think many know this saying: Everyone wants to raid the barn but noone wants to plant the corn.

comparing the cost of trimmed cannabis flowers to a head of lettuce doesn't make sense.
Better to comare it for it's utility value as an intoxicant.
How much does it cost to get a good buzz on alcohol?
$10 a gram looks about right when you compare it that way.

In a future fully legalization scenario (where its heading) 10 dollar grams of FIRE ? More like 25 to 50 dollar 10 and 20 gram bags of flame. Watch. Its gonna be awhile..bit watch

Definitely is if you slang the dank if your in it for mids or if you don't have 5+ years experience yet grow your own not anyone else's.

Just posted this same comment on another thread.

Was at my buddys house last week. He has been a pounds seller for as long as I can remember. Hes paying 1000-1600 right now. 1600 is AAAA and 1000 isnt bad at all. He has bulk OG outdoor for 200 a pound, gave a me an oz of it and its really good. But still 200 a pound.

The lower price is based on a number of factors that have been going here lately. Its all economics. You cant compare it to a head of lettuce, or craft beer, or tobacco, or anything really. Weed is its on animal, just like any crop.

Right now the supply FAR outweighs the demand on the black market. They are shutting down the dispensaries in Ontario like crazy now. There must have been 30 where I am, now maybe 5 are left.

Doctors have been handing out 200g a day scripts, guys have been opening warehouses with 1000w DE lights that get 3 per light easy, and pumping it out LEGALLY and sending it east. NOW, the dispensary gravy train is shrinking. They cant dump their product, price goes down. They turn to the black market, although now all the warehouses are sitting on stock and want it gone, so the black market middleman can set his own price of what he will pay, as theres unlimited supply.

Guys from BC are flying out here with samples and going to dealers offering direct sales through the mail at wholesale rates. Even 5 years ago we had to drive out there to get it, or let it make its way here and the price went way up for the risk. The risk is basically gone now.

Its the medium basement growers that hurt. Ive been doing this a long time, 10 years ago I was getting 2800. Now Im getting offered 12-14 on wholesale. I know what im doing and grow top shelf, but it doesnt really matter. Ill ask 18 and say its worth it, they will buy it for 1200 somewhere else.

BUT, I try and tell myself that 10 years ago we werent getting 3 or 4 pounds a light. The goal was 2 pounds a light and I was happy hitting 700g or so. Now in my 6000w room I consistently get around 20 pounds. The same room a decade ago would have produced 10 or 12 maybe. This has to do with the price drop as well.

We are getting more out of our rooms now with the new technology out there. Growing equipment is more widely available and way cheaper then it used to be. There is more info out there on how to use nutes like Jacks, or make your own and save loads of money.

I look at it like at the end this winter, I will be getting 1000 a pound when my 20 comes in. Still a good pay check every 3 months, but not the cash flow we used to get.

Is it worth it? For me no, it not. Im shutting down in spring and my growing career will end. Being tied to the grow, not able to travel, even go away for a few days, its just not worth it anymore. I agree there will always be a market for super high end, but thats a small market and hard to sell to. Its always the middle class that gets fucked.

Same here. There was a time not long ago when entering a market with lots of product would get you shot for cutting into someone's market. Now it's opening up again.

A friend who's been selling wholesale and larger retail to a market he's grown for 45 years, so he's not stepping on anyone's turf, is looking to moonrocks this year. Retail $35-50/gr and wholesale it's 10+k/lb someone said.

I hope it stays the way it is at least a couple few more years, them LEDs were expensive! Not that it's lucrative for me, I do it for the plant, for the community. I do need to at least break even so that I can keep my library going, keep creating.

I am afraid it will likely go down much faster though... People are growing the shit left and right. And the mass can not tell the difference between outdoor concentrates verse indoor concentrates.

I show up about 10 years too late in everything I do in life. LOL

LMAO.. I know it. I always seem to be bottom feeding these days.

I'm a single dad so I had to wait for my kids to go off to college to start. If I had done this 15 years ago, I'd be filthy stinking rich with a home where it never snows. Ever.

lol yeah, you n everyone else who actually did grow 15 yrs ago n are still about bitchin n moaning the gov hasn't givven them a blank check book. lol
Greed wouldn't be greed if it had a good enough moment though would it?

I have been growing indoors since the late 80's. And its a different world no doubt. Used to fetch big dollars. Of course your ass was sitting in a cage for years if you got caught. Not many growers back then. Good growers around my area were as rare as hens teeth. And the popularity didnt rise till about the mid 2000's really. Back in the olden days..if you had 2 or 4 thousand watters you were a big timer. And you were because pounds of good stuff were going for 3 to 5k a pop. You didnt need alot of setup to bring down the fat coin. We were literally growing money on trees. There was one grow store in the whole state of Michigan back in those days. And yes..the DEA we're known to watch the parking lot and jot down license plate numbers. Scary times. Right around Operation Green Merchant where the big sting took place and alot of grow stores and growers across the nation went down. Almost shut High Times magazine down as well. They certainly took a hit on advertising after Green Merchant. The mag was avoided like kryptonite. But anyways...I didnt save a dime. Thought it would last forever. I made great money. Never did anything else really. Easy come..easy go. Times are a changing and I gotta figure it out.

Back in those days there were no grow tents. No charcoal filters (we used "ion fountains" and they were a cruel joke for odor). There were no air cooled reflectors. 600 watt bulbs weren't out yet. All we had was the 250's. 400's and the mighty 1000 watters. Hortilux bulbs were called Iwasaki brand and they were more of a second tier bulb and really inexpensive. And old school magnetic balllasts that were loud and hot was the bees knees. LED grow lights ? What planet are you from? Lol. Coco was in coco puff cereal not a grow medium. Lol. Inline fans? Yeah rite. Loud ass squirrel cage blowers were it and they shook and vibrated your whole house. Nutrient brands? About 5 major ones if that. Dynagro..General Hydroponics..Eco..and a couple others. Additives? Dynagro Protekt silica was about it. And trading clones and seeds? Forget it. There were no growers brave enough to do it. You only had that goofy cousin that grew and lucky to have that one to share the hobby with. And he had the same Northern Lights and Skunk plants that you had. Lol. Rockwool and Sunshine#4/ Promix peat mixes were just about all there was to grow in. The books by Ed Rosenthal and Jorge Cervantes were gospel. Hydroton clay pellets were called Geolite. Lol. Good times. The money was ridiculous. And the product sold FAST. Real underground stuff. I kinda miss it.

The 400's from back in the day used to be great.

Yep. The 430 watter "Son Agro" bulbs "with 30% more blue light". Lol. I ran a shitload of em. I liked a bunch of them as opposed to the big boy 1000's for high plant count short Sea of Green crops. Good times.
