wait a sec..you're at 39 days of 12/12 and the plants haven't shown sex yet? or are you getting herms and males mixed up?

lol..I was laying off..see the part where I said "sorry bro" first? lmao..no offense taken..

Don't taze me!

I wouldn't chop. After only a few hour's exposure to a monitor and desk light, at 36 days, no way. Wait & see.

Thanks dude, i'm hoping youre right.

If you see a nanna or two just remove at first site, you should be good ;)

You too..hope youre right also!!

if you see some balls I would leave it and youll eventually have some fem seeds....or just pulls them off and keep flowering as normal

Pulling them off sounds like a plan. I'll have to liem neeson this shit

I too think you will be fine. I think the strain has alot to do with hermies. And the stress that the plant is under during all this light leakage.. Just keep an i out for the balls and you should be ok.. ImHo.. peace.

sack

Thanks dude...you post in all my threads!! appreciate it greatly man..

Maybe i need corrected!

No, they are females with huge buds already. Done in roughly 20 days..nirvana white rhino and widow...

AFAIKnew, herms were when the female plants buds start producing seeds...is that correct? OR am i off base entirely?

your off.....the plant will herm creating pollen sacks, thus creating seeds in your bud...

No, your on target.. herms will cause seeds in female plants if allowed to open early enough or not picked off in time. But, being that close to being finished, I seriouly doubt any herms now will do much damage. Just pick them off the plant if you see any..

dude youll be fine might have a nanner or two you can pluck off... i know everyone one freaks out about light leaks....

Well in nature we have moon and stars that shine on the plants ALL night and guess what they dont hermie or reveg... its not something you should make a habit out of but as long as it was this one time and you plants are not really finicky you should be fine....

lmao..thats what he just said..

lol sort of, i just thought they made seeds. i was a little off and didnt realize they create pollen sacks when then pollinate the buds and so forth.

BTW, where am i checking for nanners...at the nodes or are there other places to check too?

ah HA....:dueling:the nanners usually pop up at the nodes but sometimes i have heard of them forming inside of a bud, which i dont think you will have any control, but when that happens it usually isnt alot of seeds, either way I wouldnt worry about it too much especially if you are harvesting in the next couple weeks.

Check the buds themselves. For one hard to tell where the node actually is in a well developed bud/cola. If the strains are sensitive they might hermie and will show nanners in a day or so. It'd be crazy to chop. Usually when plants hermie due to light leaks, cycle disruptions, etc. they stop after the issue is corrected. Just pluck any nanners.

The moon is not strong enough to cause hermies. A full moon just does not kick out enough foot candles. Street lights can depending on how close they are to the plants. A friend used to do guerrilla and would smoke his cigs at one spot in the garden at night...and had hermie issues right next to where he stood.

I accidentally left my shop lights on one night in my grow, found it at noon the next day (basically they got a decent 18/6 light cycle in the middle of flower. ) I think I found a seed or two, but I'm so not worried about it.

cool...thanks for the input guys...gives me a better understanding...will keep my diary updated over at that subforum..

crossing my fingers hoping the last few hours of pitch black will help em not hermie..

we shall soon see

i find a day of maybe some light will through off nanners rather then hermies.... Consistent light night after night on the same spot from a light leak is what causes it to hermie....

The whole light/hermie thing is blown way out of proportion sometimes. I think it's sort of a 'scapegoat' in the sense that, in reality, lots of things (mainly genes) produce hermaphrodites, and we need something to blame it on and the flavor of the month culprit is light. I'm with OrganicMeds in that my growroom is constantly 'light polluted' and I have less hermies than most people. Maybe organic methods counter the stresses of light pollution?

If I remember the original post right, there was mention of fans on the plants? Without fans, 'bananas' have no way of seeding the crop. I haven't had fans in my growroom for years.

Check for nanners on top of the buds they grow out of them... They will be little yellow things they will pop out one at a time or sometimes in bundles... They kind of look like small bananas hence nanners....

good luck youll be fine...

All of the "havent had problems" really calmed me down...but i do also realize that the potential is still there, so again 50/50 shot... I'll just keep it as close to the proper sched as possible, lights on exactly at right time and pitch black at night etc

This is the only fuck up the entire grow basically, except for one time the light didnt shut off for 20 mins...and i shut it off manually...i'm hoping these hoes have it in em to stay full females!

I think that on top of like what everyone is saying check for the nuts/sacks, and remove if found...im hoping these finish in 50-55 days rather than 60-70

see, what ive noticed on many grow threads/forums is the whole "light leaks equating to hermies/seeds" is so up in the air, there are really no "yes" or "no" answers...

some people have had exp with hermies/seeds due to light leaks, and a lot havent. so theres really no way to even say it will go one way or another, so im assuming my best bet is to just locate any testiculars that show up and scissor those fucks off...and if they do show up...im going to smoke the plant whole for punishment
