Definatly If you want to use you ac on a timer then avoid electronic controls on the ac go for manual, knobs, dials. I thought i was helping my self some how by getting an ac with electronic controls, but when the timer signals it off and cutts power it turns off, but when the power returns it doesnt turn back on. With the manual dials the powers just cut from the unit @ the time you wish and resuplied @ the time you wish and the ac turns on. just dont want anyone to make my mistake, it was expensive.
I also made the switch from the portable to a window unit.
I dident like losing floor space, and i felt the exhaust of the hot air from the portable was a lil leaky althought im surev could have been fixed up with sum mcgyver tactics. And lastly the window unit was cheeper and more efficent.
Thats the portable ac i had bought and have now replaced (i linked you the manual controled one not the digital one like i accedently thought would be beetter)
All and all for my situation the window ac suits me better.
For you it sounds like your in need or the porable especilly if your not plannning on putting it in a window.
You can use the window ac installed to your set up but youll have to seperate as best as possible the 2 rooms 1 - being the air conditond grow space 2 - being the surrounding area receving the heated air from the back of the ac, wich will need to be vented as to not offset your atempts to cool the air in your grow.
