In search of Florida Crippy

I finally found my old stash of seeds. These were collected in the 2000's back in South Florida. Could the magical strain be in here? Who knows! Almost every seed is from a different strain.

Man I love bags like that, all random high quality bagseed you could literally be sitting on the next legendary strain...working great bagseed is one of my all time favorite pursuits keeping the greatest contenders for breeding females and the most promising males.

There are 1000+ different QUALITY sub-strains & combinations sold by the different seed companies.

Sure there's some overlap but there's also a huge amount of variety.

I'm sure there's some real similar to FL Crippy.

For me some of the stand-out strains of the 90's were 2 Indica's, from Humboldt/ Mendocino, both super resiny.

After smoking the TK- Triangle Kush with several people who know the South Florida/Miami Crippy I can say they are one in the same. The exact same from what we remember, that heavy fresh celery taste is the best way to describe it. I had been looking for her for over 12 yrs, funny thing is most of the people who are holding her didnt know she was the Crippy they just knew TK was some dank from FLA.

2 pulls was all it took and it was like a flashback to 2002

Well that's fantastic to hear, I just got some King's Kush which is made from Triangle Kush, so this just bumped it up to next in line :)

To anyone searching for FL crip my first recommendation would be Rare Dankness' TK cut. I'm not sure if they've ever offered it by itself but even their TK crosses are superb.

Actually Scott's OG would be a really good choice. I've personally not run this one but sampled the final product and can say it is top notch. Lineage: Triangle Kush x RD#1 (half Triangle Kush)

So you guys are telling me that the Crippy from White Springs, Fl., is TK and The White along with OG that is known in Cali? Yes, I read Joshs story and I dont believe it for a minute. What makes the story credible is other well known growers claiming he knows or they knew. So it took over 20 years to put the story out? Nope, something is not coming together. Lmao...I once seen some of these guys on a Spanish web forum under different names but the same writing styles. What you search for is no more than Columbian crossed with something unknown.

Well just want to share my experience growing up in northeast Florida. I started smoking in 06 when krippy was used to describe good bud. Later on I met an older hippy guy that claimed to have an old school strain called Krippy. It was the lemony, fuel, almost skunky smell that I get when smelling og kush and TK. I personally believe krippy is the mother of the kushes, or they at least are all closely related. It seems like the local bud in Gainesville/jacksonville fell off in about 09 when all the "Cali" bud started coming in. I miss all the "hydro" that came from Miami! Every batch seemed to be exotic in its own way... seriously sticky bud that would stay stuck on a car window.

Also I would love to get a cut of the old school juicy fruit. Smelled and tasted kinda like sprite/juicy fruit gum with neon green bud with bright orange THICK pistils. Crazy strong taste and the high has made me pull over driving. Was told that it was a Thai that had been passed around Florida since the 70s . Received a 20 cuts in '11 when a grower retired, but lost them when I left with someone who somehow managed to kill them all in a matter of days. Was a holy grail strain.. anyone seen it? This was Gainesville but I saw the exact same bud in jax only difference was it was chunkier. Not the "fruity juice" strain.

Other strains that I would kill for- black haze, Gainesville green/micanopy moonbeam, and the "mango"

Great thread I'm just a cat from Polk county if any of rings a bell with any of y'all, just started growing again crippy is what got me into smoking and growing (as a hobby nothing big or anything lol) as high schooler in the mid 2000's (that and the other game I was running was just a lil to wild for my lilly white ass) this thread is why I made a profile to be exact too. One thing I can say it's kind of annoying when those who aren't from the area or weren't from the area always feel a need to always speak on the subject of Florida Crippy at least in my circle, sitting back though y'all... what's up?

the mango. holy shit. one of the first full zips i bought. made such an impression. the guy i got it from invited me into his condo and he had a huge bowl of nugs in the middle of his coffee table like a centerpiece. gave me one rip off his giant sandblasted ying yang tube and i had to sit in the car for 1/2 an hour before i could drive lol. i remember the texture mostly. it was thick and leathery almost. redefined the term "dank" for me at the time.

i also got amazing haze pretty regularly we always just called "miami haze." in the past couple years i've heard a bunch of people talking about "cuban black haze" as potentially being the same thing but i'd never heard that term when i lived in florida.

i think $m at top dawg has the cut and bodhi too iirc. i'd love to grow out a good representation of the black haze and if it is the miami haze i could cross off a grail strain from my list.

brad congrats on getting growing again! will you be growing any of these florida heirloom varieties?

At this current moment no, I'm currently talking to my whole old high school smoke squad to see what seeds the homies saved. Surprisingly they still have tons and can actually tell me what packs we got them from. After I harvest my tent, my main goal will be on popping beans and observing. I wish we would of been more about the product and not the cash back in the day, I'm a little pissed that I never took the time or opportunity's I had to get deeper into the FLA scene. I had no idea it was this deep I just knew as a young punk that our stuff was fire and different from the rest!

His clone came from me and it's a PURE KUSH s1. Fuck RD. I hate this thread, it's the proliferation of useless misinformation and baseless comparisons. I wish a mod would close this thread so people would stop asking me stupid questions that arise from all the misinformation in this thread. Damn broken record and people still trying to figure out what song it is. SMDH

TK and Crippy are one in the same? Nope, growth pattern and yield says otherwise, crippy is most likely an Afghani/thai or Afghani/Colombian. She might be the morther plant to all OGs tho.

How did you come this conclusion? just pure conjecture I'm sure. great.

Crazy how many people who probably never smoked tk, or heard about it before coming online or were plugged into the scene before the cali import takeover are chiming in.... I'll leave it at that...
