Wow, I've heard about garda being buried in goatskins for a few months to cure, great to finally see a picture of some!
Indeed Ganja Pasha, this is a traditionnal way to do overthere. Can be kept this way up to a few years actually. This pic was shot in Darra Adam Khel. This is a "Tribal Area" pocket near Peshawar and the town is famous among travellers, for it's there you can visit the weapon factories and try a few shots. Before 9/11 you could try EVERYTHING ! from Colt45 to Stinger to DCA, then rules were tightened and people have been allowed to make only some colt, AK-47 and shotguns.
More interesting even was of course the dope shops eheh. Hash of course, plus opium and heroin, of course...
I'm realizing this pic has probably gotten some more intrinsec (is that english?)value. Indeed, few months ago Darra Adam Khel was taken over by Taleban sympatizers and those dastards have imposed their rules overthere, and of course they want to put an end to the dope business. I think the dope bazar is closed now... and it's now off-limits to foreigners of course...
Already when I was there the charas situation wasn't good. There was a new chief of the police and he decided, him also..., to put and end to the business. Karkhanai bazar (also known as smugglers bazar, full of everything, and of dope of course) was closed and it was already going bad in Darra or Landi Kotal. Prices had gone up by 100% ! Eventually the guy ended up blown up by a suicide bomber. But he managed to harm a lot the business as many dope seller lost their licence.
in 2006 I had befriended with the administrator of the bazar and he was ok to take me around to plantations and factories, but couldn't meet him again last year as I could only reach him by going to kharkanai, wihch was closed...

I first saw it when i was 15-16 right at the beginning of my passion for the Great Greenery and it fuelled it for years actually, giving me the will to travel the world and see those beauties by myself. I was standing in total awe for hours looking at the chunks and dreaming of all the stories and History surrounding them. Flabbergasted and mesmerized was I especially by this jaw-dropping RED twisted garda ! I don't know from where it is (Kashmir ? Himachal ? Nepal ?) but I would love to put my hands on such a "twister" somewhere in some high Himalayan valley. Still today it amazes me as much as years ago.

Great pics and info guys. All i have to offer is my latest batch of caramelo's. This was very stinky fresh and i could actually re-press into more useable shapes. After re-pressing it takes on a glass-like texture. When its cold you can SNAP it, but once you've held it a while it goes pretty soft.
This stuff melts, and just taste the best.
Mriko, great pictures. I think that red twist is kashmir. I once had something VERY similar back in the late 70's. TGBOH used to be like a guide book to us back then as you could score most of whats in that book. Its a very sad time as far as the commercial hash market goes.
Hey Mr Haze, any sign of any decent RED LEB yet in holland? That used to be a great favorite of mine, especially the gold/blonde trippy ones. The dark red was also good. People keep saying its gonna resurface, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. Is it all going to Israel??
