Ice and Grapefruit from FemaleSeeds

Dr Ben, very nice work. I have gotten really excited about the Grapefruit, but once I got the excitement all the seeds are gone. I am out of luck until they get some more. I have a bag seed that leans heavily towards a sativa that I am cloning now and some big bud too. Plan to start the clones off of my mothers this weekend. I am going to have a scrog setup, my first time at that and my second grow period, but I do not expect too many problems. Nothing that I cannot handle.
Your odor problem is a quick fix. I have built an ozone generator for about $30 USD, with easily obtainable parts. I posted a thread on it that sort of died (I am new around here) but I am a senior electrical engineer and know what I am doing. This is a very safe and efficient odor sterilant. I highly recomend it. It even makes the laundry room smell fresh and clean! Ask me anything, and if you get a line of some GF seeds please tell me. I am really excited to include that in one of my future grows.

Trimming some more. They've been drying for 4 days, ready to go to cure after another 4 days. They're very different looking now. Took same size buds from Gf and Ice for comparison. Ice bud in picture weights 5g and Gf 4,3g so they're quite similar in density. They're still bit wet. Dried pictures and macros later.

That Grapefruit is gorgeous, I hope the two GF I have going turn out something like that!!!!! Mine have just gone onto the second set of leaves, so you won't be waiting near as long as I will, be patient and cure those buds well. Those Ice buds look great as well, but given you say they overcame your carbon filter I'd better be staying away from those, got enough on my hands with the two Hindu Kush x Skunk#1s seedlings that will be trying to keep up with the GFs. Really need to research more suitable strains next time, but with all the reports on the GF I think I did well, even if it's a little stretchy.

Like you I'm growing with a 250w HPS so I'll definitely be trying to mimic this run, but I have a smaller grow space so I'll probably go to 12/12 a littler earlier, perhaps 4 weeks, and I'm planning on doing both some LST and a ScrOG to keep them from overgrowing my cab by harvest. How tall did the GF end up, out of interest?

Gf was about 60cm/2ft tall, but as you can see, much trained. If I were you, I'd top quite early, veg 2+ weeks and train/scrog them. This pheno was taller than other I had earlier.

Great, a couple of 50cm GF would be perfect for my cab, I was scared they'd be too stretchy. My seedlings are still really little, they are just over two weeks old now I don't think I had enough CFLs, or the correct colour, on them for the first week or so, and they got a bit burnt from a day under the sun.



But they are responding nicely under the HPS and with some light nutes. I have them close to the glass to limit their stretch, and will definitely be topping, LSTing, and scrogging them over the coming weeks, and flipping them to 12/12 pretty early as you've recommended. I'll probably not train the Skush, just scrog it, so they hopefully stay close in height to the GF as they're supposedly not nearly as stretchy.

I'm going to try to clone them all too, but it'll be my first attempt so I'm not expecting much from it, more of a learning experience, hopefully get a nice mum going, and have to get off my ass and build a mother box, lol. If not I still have two more GF seeds, so ..... If the clones work, and one of the HK skunks ends up being a male I'll try my hand at breeding, cross the Skush with the GF, and call it a skushed grape, lol.

I have 2 Ice and 2 AI now. I had some problems, but Smilin Bob helped me out with some good advice. One of each Ice and AI have grown 10 inches in a week since 12/12. They will be 6 weeks old on 4/25...12/12 for a week. They are 27 inches tall. How tall you think they may get?

1.8 gallon pots. Can they grow out in these?

Yours are lankier than mine, they stayed under 60cm/2ft till the end. I used bigger pots, topped and trained. You have enough light, since they're so stretchy? You should train more, if you want them to finish short. In your situation I think you should bend them down, if you have space.

There's a part of me that wants to just let them go and see what they do. They can go 100+cm if need be. Next time in this particular grow I think I will top them once when about 12-14 inches (30-35 cm)I think the yield will be OK this in any case. I just don't want to have to mess with LST. I take them out to water them and clean grow area. LSTin them would make this a hassle I wud think.

I can't believe how you kept your plants so short. Amazing!!!

What week into flower did your Ice start getting smelly?

I will post pix on my grow diary as time goes on. Some already there. I don't have the best camera for really good closeups, but I will do my best. Let's hope they do well and get really frosty

People here have been a big help to me and maybe my grow will help others.

My Ice #2 and AI #2 are going bonkers. Three days ago Ice #2 was 27"(68.5 cm) today Ice #2 is 33"(84cm)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AI #2 is growing at same pace. They have nearly doubled in height in the 10 days of 12/12. Pretty soon they will be too big to be hauling back and forth to the sink for watering, etc. It's easier to inspect them more closely in natural light at my sink.

I hope these do as well as yours. If they do, I should get some nice smoke from these girls.
