man those stats are sad! If you bid on multiple auctions you should be able to cover them all just in case you win them all. Non pay is not cool. Why ruin a good thing?!?!?

Opink, you should have skip cross ref email addresses to Icmagers and kick matching non payers. I know i use the same email for both. I lost a few auctions on there cause of these jerks.

Valid point. I'm sure you'd see a pattern with some emails though. By the info Opink posted, it looked epidemic.

I don't see why this is any different than Ebay in that sense...I mean, if you bid, it is a contract to pay. Simple as that...didn't intend to win, well, ummm, that is a risk you take on when you choose to bid. Grow up people.

Quit wasting time and resources because you THINK you MIGHT possibly have the money to get that....maybe...if this that and the other all fall in place, then yeah...

If you bid, you buy...that simple. (that is why I don't bid 99.9% of the time...but it is fun to watch...hehehehe)

Sad that things like this even have to be said...

Keep up the good work OP...there are those of us here that appreciate the time and effort put forth and REALLY enjoy seeing all our community members work and favorites being offered up...

It appears that someone or a group of people may be trying to sabotage the fundraising auction.

Very strange.

Have you considered a feature similar to eBay's 'Second Chance Offer?' That would allow the next bidder in line a crack at the auction if the top bid doesn't get paid. Works out great on the E.

This may be kind of strange, but I have quite a number of LA Confidential F2's, and am thinking of sending them into the fundraiser auction or freebies. I understand that the owners of icmag and the breeders of LA Con. are not friends, and I do not want to disrespect this bulletin board, but I thought that people here may enjoy growing them and generating some interest for the 420 fundraising auction or for freebies. According to retail prices, I see there is quite a few dollars worth of seeds there.

We can even change the name to something like New York Hush or some other play-on-words.

Mods or Gypsy, let me know either way.

Be good everyone.

Try sending them out Express Mail Guaranteed. I always ship mine out that way. They usually will get it within 5-7 days. Also you have to make sure the address you send it to is PERFECT. The lady at the post office I live by is a moron and doesn't even know how to make out a money order to England (Yes there is literally one lady at my post office, small town). When I shipped my M.O. on Tuesday it took her a long time to find the correct region or location in the computer, even though I had sent one out a couple weeks prior. Unless you send cash, which is a really bad idea, then there is no reason why they wouldn't receive payment in a timely manner. The USPS believe it or not is a very well run federal program.

I REALLY must be a naive peanut head......doing something like that (bidding with no intention to buy) never even occurred to me. Just when you think you've heard it all.........

Right....lol. I am in the same boat...what would be the sense or logic behind that decision???!!!!!

I would imagine that people usually do something else that causes them to be unable to pay, rather than just waking up one day and saying 'Hey, I feel like typing "140" here in this little box. Wonder what that does?'

Maybe they're used to losing 3 of every 4 auctions, so they cast a wide net and bid on 4, figuring they'll be lucky to win one... and win 3.

Maybe something else comes up and money for seeds disappears. People are losing lots of jobs these days. Maybe they got popped or tore down the grow. Who knows.

I'm not trying to excuse it... I sell on eBay and I *detest* non-paying bidders. I am simply trying offer more realistic explanations for the phenomenon. It may not all be a conspiracy, or wanton douchebaggery. =)
